Kevin McCarthy is a buffoon
The MAGA leader of the House Republican Conference from Bakersfield, California, took an oath to defend the US Constitution when he was elected to the United States Congress in 2006. He desecrated that oath. He broke it . He betrayed it. No public promise made by Kevin McCarthy is worth the paper it is printed on. It is all nonsense.
McCarthy’s cynicism is almost immeasurable. The GOP “Commitment to America” is a platitudinous bundle of nonsense and tripe, wrapped in a layer of fraudulence beginning with the errant Abraham Lincoln quote that frames it. It turns out the quote is from a 1986 Lehman Brothers ad that erroneously attributed it to Lincoln. It is appropriate. The MAGA/GOP alliance will do for democracy what Lehman did for the economy in 2008.
Incredibly, the mishmash of incompetence from Team McCarthy didn’t stop with the fake Abraham Lincoln quote. It was just the opening bid. The contrived images of Americana turned out to be not so American after all. They were Russian and Ukrainian pictures. The incredible Jennifer Bendery story in the Huffington Post almost beggars belief.
It is all 100%, triple-A, weapons-grade bullshit. All of it.
The GOP “Commitment to America” is a sham. It is “crappola” that lacks commitment, conviction or seriousness —and it is not on the level at all.
Of course commitment isn’t an entirely inappropriate word choice. Why? Because of the hive of cretins and deeply disordered MAGA candidates running for high office — and asking for power over life and death, war and peace, domestic tranquility and prosperity.
Among the list there is Herschel Walker. He claims his 12 different personalities and penchant for playing Russian roulette and holding loaded guns to the heads of his romantic partners was cured by a doctor with a specialty in demonic procession. Good for him.
There is JD Vance in Ohio. Ironically, for a US Senate candidate from Ohio, he said he isn’t comfortable IN Ohio, and thinks America is a joke. He started a fake opioid charity that imported doctors into the state to lie to people about the dangers of OxyContin. The drug will ultimately kill more than a million Americans. The wretched Vance — the biggest fraud running for office in 2022 America — also believes that beaten women should remain married for “family values,” while 10-year-old girls who are raped should be mandated to give birth.
There is Kari Lake from Arizona, who is a 2020 election conspiracist, and Doug Mastriano, the Pennsylvania Confederate and religious fundamentalist who recently coaxed a crowd into delivering a fascist salute, while calling for civil war and violence against his political opponents. Then there is Mehmet Oz, a snake oil salesman and a Turkish national.
The MAGA class of 2022 is filled from coast to coast with loons who have plainly indicated that they don’t believe in the outcome of elections, and are utterly faithless to every single important concept of American democracy. The MAGA movement has fielded a menagerie of unseemly nuttiness, grift, conspiracy theories and criminality in a shocking assertion of extremism, incompetence and malice. It all adds up to a travesty that could end democracy in the United States. That will be up to the American people.
Giving power to a cynic like McCarthy is an act of stupidity and as the old saying goes, “you can’t fix crazy or stupid.”
The “Commitment to America” is a declaration of insincerity and a brazen one. It is sloppy and meaningless and offered with a deep contempt towards the American people. It’s all nonsense right down to the fake Lincoln quote and Russian and Ukrainian images.
It’s an empty promise from a hollow man named Kevin McCarthy, who has been lying about everything that matters for a very long time. It is meaningless.
Giving a man like McCarthy power will not mean nothing. It will mean something. Specifically, it will mean the American crisis is deepening, and it is deep enough already. It will mean that democracy has become meaningless to a gullible people foolish enough to believe the claptrap from one of the dumbest and easiest to spot cons of all time. Don’t buy what Kevin McCarthy is selling. It’s a scam.
Sorry I have to disagree with you and some of the commentators.
This man is not a buffoon, he is a TOOL. He actually co-authored this piece of dreck with the man who destroyed bi-partisan government forever. Newt with rush (worst of all, talented magnetic heretic) changed USA together.
It has gained the three of them, one dead thank goodness, wealth, power and the admiration of the naive and the powerful alike. 
So, no he is not a buffoon he is just a whore, who is pimped off by the likes of Murdoch, Newt, orange sphincter, white supremacists and anyone with the money to rent him.
Watch! if they get the majority with the crazies, he won’t even get the gavel; jordon will.
I offer no advice, other than get people to vote.
It seems to me our founding fathers established a governing framework to try and insure the will of the people would be expressed via open debates and election processes that would reflect the will of the majority. The MAGA/GOP is trying to use the constitution like Elmer Gantry used the Bible. They are defying the intent of the founding fathers with the nominations of people who will work towards denying majority rule. They are a basket of poisonous snakes that will eventually turn on each other but during the process they will do their best to poison the rest of us. I am going to work the polls to do what I can to try and insure everyone who wants to vote can.
