It is rather difficult to see which way this election will go. I would like to think Harris will win resoundingly, which I think is the only outcome that actually begins a welcome process of ending the depravity. Yes, it is depravity that we witness. If I have learned anything in the past ten years, I am out of step with many Americans.

How about we turn that last sentence around and say, Many Americans, way too many Americans, are out of step with you, and are out of step with the rest of us.

I like that. Thanks.

It’s a great feeling to know that my blue ballot has been cast already in defense of this blatant attack on democracy. I am so ready for the hope and promise of a Harris/Walz presidency. We have needed this generational change for a long time now.

Very good. My earnest hope is that tens of millions of Americans think exactly as you do.

Crowd size may not be destiny, but it was a harbinger in 2016 and I'm looking at 75,000 and thinking "keep it coming, folks!"

Trump’s button mushroom and ego must have etiolated exponentially upon his witnessing that formidable crowd.

Nah, he just lied and said, "We had 100,000 in MSG", a place that holds just under 20K.

Last time I promise for whatever reason grounded only in the belief women will turn out and the maga will not, because they think they will win in the streets so why bother to vote. Second the 20% of gop voting for Haley is not driven to vote.

So 400 electoral votes +40 house +2 senate

I agree with Steve that the contrast, the difference between the two is clear. As clear as it has ever been. Yet there are millions of our fellow citizens who don’t have that clearity of vision. Right after Kamala’s closing speech I went on Facebook. I was immediately in an exchange with a couple of trumpers. It is amazing how they still don’t see it. Everything that is trump is deflected onto Kamala. They even say she is the one who wants to take us back. There is nothing more to say to these people.

Deflection is easy. It requires no thought. That's part of their attraction to Trumpism.

Willfully ignorant. Intellectually lazy. Digging in and tantruming like toddlers. I have consciously distanced myself from MAGA's because I can't keep fighting their terminal nihilism and stupidity.

Below is Trump's attempt to do damage control following Hinchcliffe's disastrous attempt at comedy at Trump's Sunday MSG rally:

“I have no idea who he is. Somebody said there was a comedian that joked about Puerto Rico or something, and I have no idea who he is. Never saw him. Never heard of them. And don’t want to hear of him. And I have no idea.

“They put a comedian in, which everybody does. You throw comedians in, you don’t that them and go crazy. It’s nobody’s fault. But somebody said some bad things.

“Now what they’ve done is taken somebody that has nothing to do with the party, has nothing to do with us, said something, and they try and make a big deal. But I don’t know who it is. I don’t even know who put him in. And I can’t imagine it’s a big deal.

“I’ve done more for Puerto Rico than any president, I think that’s ever that’s ever been president. Yeah, I don’t know if it’s a big deal or not, but I don’t want anybody making nasty jokes or stupid jokes, and probably he shouldn’t have been there.” – Trump, in a damage control appearance provided by Sean Hannity.

He can't organize a rally; he doesn't vet the people appearing; he trusts subordinates, apparently incompetent, to make important decisions? And, he wants to be CEO of the United States? Ain't gonna happen.

The blatant and constant insanity and denialism. His campaign vetted every single person appearing on stage. They reviewed every single comment being made and they were uploading everything for each speaker into the teleprompter. They made Hinchcliffe remove the part where he called Kamala the C-word. That means they intentionally let the Puerto Rico and black audience member statements stay.

Every word he uttered in his attempt at damage control is so obvious, you know the people who believe him are cultists for sure.

Trump "never heard" of Hinchcliffe? Really, and he was your lead speaker at your MSG rally?

"They put a comedian in, which everybody." No, everybody doesn't "put a comedian in."

"...somebody that has nothing to do with party." That is such nonsense; he was obviously a tool of your hatred, bigotry, and fear-mongering.

" I can’t imagine it’s a big deal." You know it's a big deal; that is why you are doing damage control.

"I’ve done more for Puerto Rico than any president." Well, he did throw them paper towels after a major hurricane.

"I don’t want anybody making nasty jokes or stupid jokes." But, SIR, you are a nasty and stupid joke yourself!

"They have been well-seasoned and ripened for the flatteries of a demagogue like Trump, but in the end, Trump’s empty promises will lead to real catastrophe in America."

During the primary season in 2016, Hillary suggested Bernie supporters all "wanted a pony." Alienating the most energized segment of the Democratic base was a huge rhetorical foot-in-mouth mistake going forward in her campaign, with dire consequences for all of us.

Still, I think of those words today when considering the inexplicably negative perceptions about an undeniably strong economy. Much of it stems from class envy, which is quite deliberately stoked by the wealthy benefactors that, for their own embellishment, are undermining faith in ourselves as one people. There has always been an upper class of Richie Rich "swells", but ostentatious displays of opulence are a reminder of who has the pony and who doesn't. The corporate titans and dark money moguls supporting the MAGA movement are like the gangster, Johnny Rocco in 1948's Key Largo. They want MORE. Will they ever get enough? No.

The part that is toughest to fathom though is how gullible and pliable Trump voters are, as if believing that the only thing standing between themselves and a financial windfall of their own are those that are less fortunate than they are. Does it really take much critical thinking to understand that the interests of the most privileged members of our society, from the Trump family to wealthy immigrants like Elon Musk and the Murdochs do not coincide with lower-and middle-class well-being? Do they really think that Tucker Carlson, heir to the Swanson Food Corporation fortune, lays awake at night wondering how he can better the lives of Jane and Joe Schmoe?

If this election really is about economic anxiety and envy, and I'm not sure it is, then the angry, loud MAGAs are giving their middle finger salute to the wrong side.

I hope the hate-a-palooza at Madison Square Garden will "have legs" and be enough to convince the unknown percentage of Trump leaning voters that are not altogether motivated by fear, racism and resentment that maybe, just maybe, they're standing on the outside looking in, and always will be, if this new ruling class is in the saddle. These gilded souls are the only ones that will be riding that new pony.

The first step is to make the pie big. Second step is make sure everyone gets their fair share. President Biden was the first sitting President to visit a picket line. He was vocal in support of the longshoremen strike. Even though that strike could have tanked the economy and he would have been unfairly blamed. Vote Blue for Unions so all boats can rise with the tide.

Our Democracy is strongest when we work together to solve problems. That is the message I got from Kamala Harris last night. Kamala Harris is inviting those who disagree with her to the table. She is looking to solve problems with input from the other side. This is the way to solve problems. The message I received from the Trump Rally over the weekend was divisive and full of blame and pointing fingers. Problems are never solved by finger pointers because they have no solutions or answers.

I have noticed over the past decade or so, Republicans are not trying to grow their base, but rather they are trying to limit access in certain populations so the outcome favors Republicans. This strategy has become a platform for the Republican party. They do not want to reform their message instead they are doubling down on their radical views. It doesn't matter to Republicans that the majority of the country doesn't want their policies. Donald Trump is not inviting anyone to the table who disagrees with him. If you don't agree you do not have a voice in his country.

There is a stark contrast of political ideologies this election. The Harris campaign is preaching an inclusive democracy and ensuring everyone has a voice in what happens in our country. Donald Trump is telling you that you don't have a say in the direction he wants to take us. If you disagree with Trump, you are an enemy. That is not how a democracy works. It is the way of tyrants and dictators.

I think the number is closer to 40% of eligible voters. Unfortunately they are the most motivated to vote so the likely voter polling is close to one-half. If every eligible voter voted, trump would not stand a chance. He knows that, so his campaign is exclusionary rather than inclusive.

More evidence that Trump is a lying sack of shit when he talks about how bad the economy is:

"The U.S. economy continued its expansion in the third quarter, growing at an annualized rate of 2.8 percent." WAPO, today

If Trump is elected his increased tariffs will destroy our economy.

Right now I am having trouble feeling any kindness towards Trump supporters. No doubt Lincoln was right we are not enemies ..but it sure feels like it. Dumpty said on Hannity that he doesn't know anything about the comedian who was at MSG on Sunday.. This is the closest thing to an apology anyone will ever get from him. Of course it's just like the media to focus on this idiot comedian instead of all the horrible speakers in the lineup .. they were just as offensive. This allows his supporters to excuse Trump once again because the comedian is an "entertainer". I am sure the world is holding it's breath. Please let the election be over with ..

Sadly, it may come down to the youth vote. In the past, the youth vote represented climate change, equal rights, and opportunity. Today, a good portion of the people are the “bro” vote! These people scare me because I honestly have no idea how many of these people are being brainwashed by moronic social media influencers, and Russian bots!

Not to mention, the various ways MAGA will try to game the system. Good times!…:)

Steve and friends all. After watching Kamala Harris last night, I am confident Harris/Walz and their team have this. Suggest we shut out the noise over the next seven days. We work, we sing, and we vote. The MSM is in the drama business - not news. Trump is who he is. He and his surrogates will "trump us" till he drops.
