Only weird people feel it necessary to declare they aren’t weird. Trump’s declaration of weirdness came when the tangerine blusterer cried out on “The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show:”
Nobody’s ever called me weird.
They’re the weird ones. I’m a lot of things, but weird I’m not.
JD Vance is not at all weird.
The whole thing is weird.
It’s all a sound bite. And the press picks it up. You notice … the evening news, every one of ‘em’s talking, they introduce the word ‘weird,’ and all of the sudden they’re talking about ‘weird.’
No, we’re not weird people. We’re actually just the opposite, we’re right down the middle.
Earlier today, I was on television, and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s was credited with inventing the weirdo line of attack, which isn’t so. He was just the first Democratic governor to embrace the obvious, and by doing so, score a direct hit.
Understanding that weirdness animates MAGA and is a repellent to most Americans is key to understand in this moment. There is a natural aversion towards judgement for tolerant people, particularly in a live and let live culture. Privacy, individualism, honesty, integrity, boundaries and respect have always been important American pillars. They were key ingredients in the great melting pot that turned scores of millions into Americans. They were foundational pillars in pioneer culture and remain embedded in America’s DNA. So many Americans are so deeply disconcerted about Trump because his weirdness is so manifestly un-American.
Trump has always been a bloating con man and blusterer. Before he was a fascist disgrace and felon, he was PT Barnum. Trump was a NYC tabloid kingpin who soared on news of his divorces, trysts, bankruptcies and other intrusions into the public sphere. He lusted after his daughter on Howard Stern, and was routinely booed at Manhattan sporting events for being a bloviating weirdo.
The dogma of control that MAGA espouses and the fever dreams of a million little fascists on the prowl at CPAC or Charlie Kirk’s Little Eichmann festival are weird. The plain truth is a bunch of weirdos who worship Trump as sun king and want to bandage their ears like this shouldn’t be in control of any life but their own — ever.
Good luck to them, but please stop it.
Stephen Miller is weird, and so is Kimberly Guilfoyle. Remember this speech?
Hulk Hogan. Weird.
Lindsey Graham. Very weird.
The list goes on and on and on.
Democrats should strike at this point. No one wants weirdos in the White House.
Talk about weird:
Following the global economic crisis that hit stock markets around the world today, Trump posted this:
“Of course there is a massive market downturn. Kamala is even worse than Crooked Joe. Markets will NEVER accept the Radical Left Lunatic that DESTROYED San Francisco and California, as a whole. Next move, THE GREAT DEPRESSION OF 2024! You can’t play games with MARKETS. KAMALA CRASH!!! Japan down 12%, India down 6%. Germany way down also. U.S. really bad. This is a preview of the world markets without Donald J. Trump in the White House. None of this happens if Trump is in. Kamala and the markets don’t go together. She’ll destroy the markets. She’s in power now and look at what is happening. One week of the fake media saying better polls and you get a market crash.” – Trump, on Truth Social.
Two weeks ago, when markets were booming, Trump posted this to Truth Social: “This is the Trump stock market because my polls against Biden are so good that investors are projecting that I will win, and that will drive the market up.”
Putting aside the grandiosity, hyperbole, histrionics, and lies (Kamala Harris is in power? Over the global economy?) is Trump acknowledging that it looks like he will lose? Does he have an impaired memory? Does he say whatever he thinks will score him points in the moment regardless of the truth?
He is the kind of man the legendary Nelson Mandela described in this classic quote: ′′Minds that seek revenge destroy states, while those that seek reconciliation build nations.”
′′Minds that seek revenge destroy states, while those that seek reconciliation build nations.
I just listened to Guilfoyle's 10 minute speech and am left in shock and disbelief. She didn't just lie or distort the truth or omit relevant information. Everything she said is the polar opposite of the truth. The hatred and division she spewed while condemning hatred and division was greeted by enthusiastic cheers from her audience. That we have so many Americans who feel this way is truly frightening. What is wrong with them?
