Agree. Not flat on their backs. But the democrats are not long-term thinkers, strategists, planners, doers. Hindsight is easy, but it was not hard to see 40 years ago (50 or 60), at least in Gingrich's time, that the republicans had very long term goals and candidate types in mind (what we're seeing today and back in Reagan's time) and the strategies to execute them, including Fox News and 1,500 radio stations broadcasting 24/7 a billion megawatts of conservative propaganda across the swing states, and the clever establishing of a social media propaganda network from the get-go. And gradually but with geological grinding force they made America much more stupid and incurious, purposefully eroding quality self-inquiry education while promoting instinctive racism and bigotry. The Chinese and Japanese are successful long term thinkers, extrapolating out to a hundred years of more. And so are the Republicans - very successful as we see. The democrats are masters of short term thinking and astonishingly lack deep critical thinking and history-watching skills. Hopefully, the new crop of democratic leaders (the younger and young ones) have transformative moments of self-realization over this and are able to mobilize long term thinking and some kind of effective counters to republican fascist propaganda and the pandemic-like spread of rabid stupidity.

You hit the nail on the head. The new head of the DNC must organize a panel of technocrats to counter this propaganda. Developing a communications strategy to counter one embedded and evolving for over 40 years will not be easy, but it is essential for progress in America.
