Just a couple of things:

She can dress up in gold lamé with her boobs hanging out so far she has to yank up her (Body Tape, Fearless....someone needs to educate her if she insists on dressing like that), and she still hack and a couth less, ill mannered an ugly person with no consideration for anyone other than her despicable self.

I am surprised to read Mitt Romney's quote, “Josh Hawley is one of the smartest people in the Senate, if not the smartest, and Ted Cruz could give him a run for his money.” Perhaps diabolical is a better word to describe them both.

And I am thrilled for Kristen Welker to take the seat of the venerable Tim Russert, a chair no one, absolutely no one, full stop, has filled with an appropriate gravitas to date. It has been impossible to watch.

I could not be more disappointed that her first guest is a twice impeached teller of 35,000 lies accused felon facing 91, and counting, criminal charges for a variety of crimes.

WHY IS NBC GIVING HIM ANOTHER PLATFORM???????? He has had Hannity, Carlson, Kelly - this week!!!! - has his own social media, lawyers on every talk show, and now NBC is crowning him as her inaugural (irony cannot be ignored) guest??? He commands attention, bombastically commandeers the interview and repeats his greatest hits. We need to see this again???? Why??? I will not watch. Please share any lowlights, or highlights should any appear, with us after the broadcast.

I'm also disgusted with the media for their continued lust for eyes, putting their greed over their concern for our democracy. They honor Trump, even as he calls them the "enemy of the people ". If he ever gets in the White House again, they shouldn't be surprised when he shuts them down! Just like in other authoritarian states.

One of the two reasons that come to my mind is all six corporations that comprise the MSM cash in on controversial and competitive horse races and walkovers are costly. The other reason is it won't hurt their feelings if Trump wins or it's a close race. Their outrageous tax benefits will still be safe.

I’m relieved that I saw the Boebert groping video yesterday so I didn’t have to watch it with my morning coffee. Too bad Patti Lupone wasn’t performing. She would have called her out from the stage. Ultimately, in demeaning herself in public, the Congresswoman from Colorado demeans her office, the House of Representatives, & our country. Go Frisch!

Bess Carrick's avatar

Oh! Marlene! I love this! “Too bad Patti Lupone wasn’t performing.” I’ll add another performer who takes no shit from her audience. Patti Smith!

You go, Janet!! If you throw you’re hat in the ring I’ll come out from Cali and be your bullhorn!! Btw - I spent the first 10 years of my life living in trailers all across Wyoming. We were poor, but not trash. My mom and pops were just doing their best trying to make ends meat. Now here I am @ 52 with a Masters Degree and having ran nursing services for 400-700 bed hospitals in LA - I am proof that it does not matter where you lie your head at night as long as you do two simple things:

1. Be kind

2. Do what you know is right, no matter the outcome.

That’s what I tell my nurses, and I am proud to say I have never wavered. Nor do they.

I think your pretty damn incredible, Janet!! xo

Agree! That’s why I changed my name. It represents my roots. I’m flyover country born and bread + Burbank”ian” from 16yrs old on. I’m a mixed bag!! So I completely know why the right is acting the way they are. I remember it brewing in the 80’s. The people that I know in Wyoming including my family have been talking this way for years. I’m the outsider. The odd duck. I just don’t think that way. I wish they didn’t either. They are wrong, but we all need to understand why we are here in these times so that we can defeat this ilk.

Thanks for the compliment 😘

How does someone like her end up in Congress? Because, sadly, sometimes in Red State America, all it takes to get elected is to have an "R" next to your name (see Tommy Tuberville for more on that).

Robbie Roberts's avatar

Ted Budd qualifies, as well as an (R)-toting zero, too.

Yup, I should have been more precise in my language. I live in NJ, and we also have our safe “red” districts. I am sorry if I offended you!

Definitely SLUT material.

Look up her record as a professional juvenile delinquent (which she still is) and statutory rape enthusiast. It's all in the public record.

I understand. I live amongst mostly MAGAs. I can talk to them. Just not certain subjects, because most of them really do have a right wing media bubble mentality. The ones that think Trump did nothing wrong except stick up for them. Not all, certainly.

Garret Fitzgerald's avatar

I know.

Let's just allow them to insult us.

because that's pretty much what a dialogue with them consists of.

I can understand feeling resentful and unappreciated, it deserves open and direct discussion..Democrats mistaken thinking and poor impression of themselves that they put forward needs to change..But to knowingly vote against one’s own interests is driven by something else..

It's emotions.

they appeal to their resentments.

that's what dictatorships always do.

Agree. I just looked at a spot in a mobile home park that I would very much like to live in. With whatever stigma comes with it lol.

Rosie H.'s avatar

Yes, no need to use a modifier. Boebert is just plain trash.

Robert Jaffee's avatar

Agreed, and point well taken. That said. please stop calling us elites. Just because we’re from urban areas, doesn’t make us elite. We’re working class too. And even if we make more money than people who live in rural America, the cost of living is very expensive in urban areas; rent alone could cost upwards of 55-60% of a paycheck. Food and just about everything from healthcare to gas is extremely expensive.

Additionally, when republicans use the phrase, “small town values,” it’s condescending; as though small towns don’t have crime, drug issues, racism, corruption, etc...it’s disturbing.

And people from small towns can be quite elitist themselves; especially those that believe they have a monopoly on morality and values....:)

Hence, most of the problem….”Elites” who came up with that word to describe the totality of the other side…..I daresay the rightwing did. It works perfectly into their grievance message. I for one am tired of trying to reach the Magats. A lot were ripe for the picking because they were always bigots and now have a political party that truly represents them.

Garret Fitzgerald's avatar

Maybe if they stopped giving other people reason too?

Hey, I don't dictate my terms of health care on them.

Garret Fitzgerald's avatar

Maybe if they stopped giving other people reason to?

I've never seen people so judgmental as MAGA>

Andrea's avatar

Ironically, I've never seen this kind of behavior at a drag show.

First, this is nothing new. We have had others: some that involve the Tidal Basin, or texts, or restrooms. In these other cases those that were caught resigned or chose not to run again. What is different this time with our current group of X-rated MAGA-horde: no discretion and no recognition of their impact on US Society. Badge of honor, not a red letter of shame. They will continue to erode the civic fabric of US life until they are removed from office.

Carol McMahon's avatar

All while claiming to be superior "Christians", wanting to dictate to the rest of us! Such hypocrisy !

Liz Scheffler's avatar

Whenever I see the claim of Christian, I go back to Matthew 25:31-46 Sheep and Goats. By their works you will know them.

How appropriate Boebart was removed from Beetlejuice the Musical. The plot revolves around a ghost couple wanting to rid themselves of the inhabitants that bought their home; hiring a obnoxious, deviant demon who is incompetent and not up for the task.

Could Boebart’s next step be trying to bring in the big guns; Trump, an obnoxious, deviant sociopathic demon, to save her congressional district seat?

I wouldn’t be surprised, and like in Beetlejuice, it will be a hilarious, up roaring adventure, of two witless, soulless creatures trying to save Boebart from herself.

Stay tuned...:)

Happy New Year to you, too! Boobert (used to call her Bobblehead) is grotesque. She shuts up the pregnant woman behind her who asks her to stop smoking, she's noisy and alone in the crowd "dancing", she takes a flash video (not allowed), and gives the finger when she is escorted out. She lies about vaping. She lies about all of it. But video doesn't lie. She had no idea that she was being filmed. No one will know. She will keep her seat -- and will eventually receive her pension and lifetime health insurance for doing, what, exactly? Trying to destroy our democracy? Looking like a petulant 13-year-old at every group photo? I've been donating to Adam Frisch ever since he announced his candidacy. I can't do a lot, but I hope that the emotional support will be worth something.

A another Bobo Home Run 🏟️, thank you Steve! What the hell is wrong with her? But it’s not only her! The Joker Gaetz, MTG, formerly known as the DC pipe bomber, and the list goes on. Who, or WHAT, is McCarthy? What happened to the Republican Party of John McCain? BTW, I was unaffiliated, and not a card carrying R or a D. So many questions, as the hits keep coming!

I would never have juxtaposed the words classless and lady to describe Ms. Boebert. Classless&Clueless would have been better.

I am gobsmacked that we are back to a place in our time as society that we are required to look deep inside and decide how much we can handle. I feel as if I was lied to. All through my education...I finally see my white privilege and recognize that unless people that look like me, get up and do something, we allow the system to keep turning in the wrong direction.

Steve I hope that every journalist who is set to interview DT is watching and listening to you on a regular basis. I hope they are consulting and communicating with you behind the scenes. I hope that as a consultant and advisor to politicians you are now becoming that to journalists and news broadcasters. They all need your guidance as to the truth of what the election is about and which tough questions should be asked.

Stephen, you always have best commentary! Such cringy PDA -- so pathetic for new divorceé to throw herself at a man. I think Bobo’s revealing, excessively augmented mammaries do not belong at the theatre. Where is her wrap? Why is her date carrying her purse? Why don’t those two grope-y lovebirds just get a room? Ick-cringe-ick-ick-ick. Will her Congressional colleagues shun her on Monday? (No, the MAGA are accepting of poor decorum)
