Message to HARRIS CAMPAIGN on misleading “Electorate is Dissatisfied stat…”
The press inaccurately continues citing “Americans feel country moving in wrong direction” as a knock on Biden-Harris. Rather NOT. FYI, for many, our dissatisfaction a direct result of the last 9-1/2 years of America’s oily orange sociopath and his, enabled-by-the-press, flame-throwing, noxious rhetoric.
Harris-Walz campaign PLEASE SAY IT LOUD. Stop them from their surface “me, here, now” gaslighting. Dig below the surface and reckon with the facts. Many are dissatisfied, yes. They are dissatisfied with Trumpler’s scorched earth, fascist, divisive, hellfire, toxic lying politics. Most “non half-wits” are disgusted with the lying, criminal fascist and his cadre of “hang your spine at the door” enablers. Trumpler, for many, he is the reason for deep dissatisfaction with direction of America.
We need systems to:
1. Protect from rise of a fascist - ever again …
2. Prevent criminals from running for public office…
3. End government for sale / money in elections…
4. End corruption of American elections, enacting control of air time, no private dollars, campaign length (10 weeks..?) as in Europe and other first world nations…
4. Reign in runaway R wing-nut SCOTUS with term limits, ethics code, repeal Buckley, repeal Citizens to name a few…
5. End electoral college, one vote one person, end filibuster. Both wrong and unfair vestiges of slavery and result in American apartheid nation…
6. Return congressional maps to rectangles, blind to demographics.
The people unhappy. Trumpler isn’t the answer; he’s the reason.
Bingo! When citizens hear, in essence, "don't believe your lyin' eyes, the sky IS falling" on an endless loop, they start to believe it. Most "non-half-wits," as you say, are wise to this game.
It all seems so obvious when stated so clearly and also brings up the never-ending troubling question: Why does half of our population not see this? Are they not bright or are they misinformed, uninformed? Are they people who are racists and believe in a dictatorship devoted to protecting what in their minds are "real Americans"? Do they really believe we should spend our resources on rounding up, encamping and deporting immigrants because they are poisoning our blood, not picking our produce? Do they not see the economic consequences of such a cruel and misguided policy? Don't they understand the opportunity cost of such a heartless program?
Steve, I subscribed to Tara Palmeri’s column on your recommendation several months ago, and you said from her reporting, you didn’t know her party affiliation. That may be true, but after a lot of exposure I think her affiliation is toward thrill-seeking, access, the process, friction—an adrenalin junkie of sorts. Maybe it’s her relative youth, time in the Washington bubble, and lack of understanding of the real-world consequences of what is happening. But for sure, she roots for conflict and excitement, and she has said she never wants it to end. Maybe it gets her access, but this is a little gross, to me. It’s very, very cynical, and seems very cold and callous to human suffering. I guess I’d call it heartless.
Watching the video to the end, direct quote from Tara: "Everyone is a victim in their mind, right?" No, Tara, not everyone and not even the majority. This is an example of the deep cynicism I'm talking about. And I believe it comes from being in that bubble and lack of experience.
I cheated. I surfed through the podcast after the 22-minute mark because I was also getting stressed and found the segment where Tara Palmeri chose Trump 'he's got the MO and enthusiastic cult and new followers' and got a bit sick.
And, Steve, your head picked Trump but your heart and strong belief in the country and that the people would choose a new path picked Harris.
I'm going with Steve's heart, Simon Rosenberg's enthusiasm about the D's ground game and funding, and Dave Plouffe's brain and just gotta believe the country will choose Harris and send Trump back to Mar-a-Lago to, hopefully be fitted with an ankle brace, lol.
Trump has gone off the rails the past few weeks--even by his standards. I just cannot conceive the electorate to not viscerally reject the hate and unfitness the man reeks.
Listening to this back-and-forth between you and Ms. Palmeri is one of the most stress and anxiety inducing things I have experienced on The Warning. As you did here, very often you mention that you placed the call to the Obama campaign of behalf of Senator McCain, I can only imagine that Mr. Plouffe answered that phone. Suggesting that you should be able to speak to him. With all of the seemingly smart strategies you’ve put forward for the Harris campaign over these past months, I have to wonder how much effort went into actually seeing to it that those things were communicated to them for consideration. Perhaps Plouffe is a subscriber.
The idea that over the past four years the Trump lying and gaslighting and all of his BULLSHIT legal and otherwise has not been properly dealt with is criminal! All of this shit has been allowed and tolerated. Had it been properly despatched when it mattered you wouldn’t be having this conversation with Ms. Palmeri. And I think Mr. Duke’s comment has merit, just look at his recounting her own words “But for sure, she roots for conflict and excitement, and she has said she never wants it to end.”
Tara was too hard. The “Opportunity Economy” - a main umbrella with several simple sub-messages, IS an answer to solving problems people feel. “We are not going back“ and “turning the page” are general but they include everything over the last 10 years. I agree she made a terrible mistake, which candidates always do at some point, in saying she wouldn’t do anything significantly different than Biden. She could’ve been very selective about what she liked and what she didn’t. But if you compare her, worst moments to “they are eating the cats, they are eating the dogs“ and a ton of other major horrifying gaffes, I don’t think Tara‘s overall critique is all that even handed.
The ptsd was caused by trump’s first term and his election denying bs that’s brought us to where we are today. Need to lay blame where it belongs. I have turned this into a positive for me. I will never again be too busy or too tired or too distracted to pay attention to the politics in my community, my state, and my country.
This was a terrifying listen. Her own capitulation to right wing talking points about Harris not presenting a program was so disturbing. I’ve given up thinking that a woman can win. Women are not allowed to be funny the way Obama is, although I think Gretchen Whitmer or Tammy Duckworth could have been a stronger candidate . People want change is such a BS comment considering the change that Trump is offering. I listened because I thought it was going to be the other tara the one with the Lincoln project and I really like her.
Ms. Palmeri’s eagerness to normalize Trump’s disgusting character made me sick. She talks about her father who happens to be an electrician being worried about immigrants- she appears to endorse the MAGA hateful rhetoric and the so called replacement theory. It’s their right to support the “Dear Leader “ but they should not hide behind the economy or crime rates. How can you be brandishing the Bible in my face and then worship at the Trump alter. Basic common sense and decency have been thrown out the window by Fix(Fox) news and Trump. Well Ms Palmeri said her 1st job was at the Washington Examiner-no SURPRISE
The single issue that was brought up in this exchange that seems important was Kamala's major error in stating she could not think of any political differing from Biden. Many sound pundits are still alarmed at this major goof and rightly so. Politics is uniquely its own game, like it or not. At this stage of the political contest, simple partisan loyalty can well prove fatal. It well seems the case here. When Biden finally withdrew, an explosion of hope was born. Pretending there is no difference when actually the dynamic evidenced that, sadly, surrendiptously, Biden proved that he was not credibly supportable, is completely obtuse . This loyalty seems to have eclipsed any ability on her part to present any program, any comprehensive agenda. The major complaint of most professional observers currently is that the country is waiting for a clearly stated program. By my lights, if she does not do so, and soon, she will have forfeited the game by her own default. Holding onto loyalty is an anchor that will sink her.

Cynical and seemingly true. Let’s prove his observation to be incorrect.
Humanity stretching to reach her higher levels…

I wish Kamala had made this point last night,
Under Trump’s abortion ban all rapists are choosing their babies’ mothers.

None of this so far says HOW someone will vote.

This was God awful. She is MAGA. Cute, MAGA lol

Blessings to you,Steve, and Thank You for All your Good Works and will reStack ASAP 💯👍🇺🇸💙🌊🌊
What a treat to see you with Nicole yesterday. Despite the current horrors it was a much needed boost to my morale. And you looked spiffy too.

Appreciate the focus on reasonable discussions in the time of tumultuous and unpredictable challenges.
