There truly is no bottom. Dogs are man's best friends and I love them. We are living a nightmare in which the worst among us are voted into power and elevated. We must and will stop this. Never back down and never give up. Rest in peace Cricket. You deserved better and dog lovers everywhere will remember your name as we fight cruelty and depravity with love and strength.

What a disgusting piece of garbage she is. I hope he nominates her because my friends and I who care for our furry friends will consign her and Chump to the ash heap of American history in November.

Grew up as child of a WW2 vet, on a street filled with WW2 dads, where friend’s mothers were concentration camp survivors. Wondered how any person could do the things I heard were done. Seemed impossible

Yet here they are, as Noem is, unrepentant dead-eyed products of warped philosophy. Like Trump, Abbot, Giuliani, Barr, examples of those kinds of people. McConnell, Graham, Sarah Palin, Sarah Huckabee, Ginny Thomas, the entire club of all Trump supporters. Bad people.

Let us know how Teddy is. There are indeed no bad dogs.

Speaking of Barr, he is now trying to be a leader in the demise of our two-party system, as illustrated by this CNN interview excerpt:

BILL BARR gave a newsy interview to CNN’s Kaitlan Collins yesterday, in which the former AG for DONALD TRUMP said he plans to support his former boss at the ballot box in November.

Collins: “Just to be clear, you’re voting for someone who you believe tried to subvert the peaceful transfer of power, that can’t even achieve his own policies, that lied about the election even after his attorney general told him that the election wasn’t stolen … you’re going to vote for someone who is facing 88 criminal counts?”

Barr: “Look, the 88 criminal counts, a lot of those are —”

Collins: “Even if 10 of them are accurate?”

Barr: “The answer to the question is yes, I’m supporting the Republican ticket.”

Needless to say, Barr is no Howard Baker.

Here’s one of the prototypes for the presumptive Republican nominee — and he surely did not reflect the philosophy of Steve and The Warning community: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Wallace

Kristi Noem makes me feel sick. I hate cruelty to animals, to people, to living things. She has a dark soul. Cruelty, hatred, fear, resentment, rage seem to be a large part of maga world, as demonstrated by their orange god.

All of this. Succinct and spot on. I may have to use your excellent description! They all have dark souls.

First Steve, I hope your dog is ok.

Second, the story of Kristi killing her dog made me sick to my stomach. What a despicable person she is.

I hope your news from the vet is not dire and his recovery will be quick. Pets are a gift from God and deserve love in return. They only wish to please and be accepted into a family. They protect and give their love freely and all they ask in return is nourishment and love. I will say a prayer for Teddy and I wish him a long life with your family so you always have a friend who will go on walks with you and be by your side.

I can not imagine Trump being a dog lover. Trump is so self centered that there is no room for anyone else but Trump. I don't know Kristi Noem but from what you have written and the news coverage of her is not flattering. Anyone who could kill a dog for sport should be hunted themselves for sport.

I can’t even read the all the details of what she did. I can’t take it —(everything). I really hope Teddy is ok, as well. 🐾💕

Oh Steve

I’m a forever dog owner and lover of them. My dogs weren’t and aren’t just dogs, they are a vital part of my family and who I am. Noemi’s cruelty is beyond cruelty. I am horrified (not that I thought much about her before).

Sending healing thoughts to Teddy and you and your family. I hope it’s a benign cyst.

Steve, family, and all the beloved Schmidt pups: my heart goes out to you all for darling Teddy.😥

He has given you so much love, affection, and joy...and you to him! And, maybe Teddy will be ok.

For anyone here who might be interested: There is a wonderful person named Rocky Kanaka who started an organization called 'Sitting With Dogs". He goes into animal shelters and spends time sitting with dogs that have been abused, abandoned, starved, injured, or became lost. He shows what a little love can really can do. What Rocky does is so beautiful. His foundation and videos:

Susan,

Yes she sure is isn't she!! I love this woman too. She and I have gotten to be pretty good friends at first because of our shared name and our love of Steve and this Forum, then we also realized we had some other things in common as well. Substack can be a wonderful place for that.

I know one thing...I'm so very grateful to have not only have found a very supportive "Sister Lisa" but for each and every person in here. I have learned something from all of you and I'm so so grateful for all the love and support during these especially trying times. I'm even grateful for Frank. 🤣

The way we treat animals says a lot about us. This story makes me absolutely sick and makes he hate this non-human even more. Just wow. Talk about cold. I have loved all of my pets and still miss my little boxer, Diamond, since she left us in Oct. 2018. Rest in peace, little Cricket. Hopefully you and Diamond have met at the Rainbow Bridge. And Steve, please keep us posted on Teddy. All of us dog lovers really care.

Here’s the important issue. With Trump’s progressive dementia he is unlikely to finish a term making who he picks as VP candidate exceedingly important and in all the potentials being considered, especially Noem, that is a scary proposition. All the more reason, as if we need one, Trump needs to be defeated.

I am not surprised. The first time that I saw her ugly face was in a political ad that she did. In that ad, she blew away a beautiful mourning dove just to make a political point: sick. She is chalking it up to life on the farm which is BS. My grandfather, who was literally saved by a St. Bernard in the Mountains of France, was a farmer in Upstate, NY. He loved dogs and would never ever do what this POS did. BTW, goats are great animals too! PRAYING THAT TEDDY WILL BE OK!

At a loss for words when reading these excerpts from Kristi Noem’s book. Where are going as a nation if this considered OK as well as appropriate to “advance” your career. God help us.

Thanks Steve, though honestly I could not read it in full after reading your introduction. We have had to put down a few loved dogs in our lifetime. My husband (who has passed awhile) struggled so hard. Dolly was 16 years old, I personally gave her her insulin shots everyday. She did so well for 5 more years. Then two others just old age. (It is so hard on all). as for Noem/She is just another HATER and this makes it even worse. Sick.

I do want to leave with “I will be praying with others for your “guy” to be ok or even small enough to “get it out of him”. I truly feel for you and your family while you wait. Please give us all good news. Be Well yourself.

I recently found a lump on my dogs chest. After searching for info on the situation, I learned that most bumps like that are non-cancerous and harmless but must be looked at/tested. After a trip to the vet and a quick test, that harmlessness was confirmed. I hope you, Steve, get the same good news. Best of luck.
