Mike Pence has brought his political career to an end with his announcement that he will suspend his presidential campaign. His service was profoundly cynical and self-interested from the beginning. His schtick was inauthentic, contrived and utterly lacking conviction. He was a hollow man with an appetite for the prerequisites of political power and the perks that come along with it. It is the core reason he went along with everything that he went along with — until the moment he didn’t.
In addition to being a disingenuous fraud, he was both creepy and frightening. The only highlight I can recall is when that fly landed on his white head for what seemed like an eternity.
In horror films flies represent the coming of evil. For sure they are there when corpses are rotting. Definitely it was a sign from the universe that the GOP was dead as we knew it.

I agree, Mike Pence was not a hero. He will be remembered for keeping his oath to protect the Constitution on January 6th but he did not have the courage to stand up to the election denying republican party. If he was a courageous man he would have helped stop the damage Trump and his insurrectionist followers were doing to the country. He failed his obligation as an American citizen to tell the truth to all not just behind closed doors and only after being subpoenaed. That is not courage, it is fear.
Pence only did the right thing because he was advised by Republicans much smarter than he that it was his only choice. He didn’t have the moral compass or the smarts to uphold the constitution without outside help.
The man was as calculating, half-hearted and political as they come. He - and so many others of his spineless ilk - never had the guts to tell the emperor he had no clothes.
