But Canada has a “Trump-lite”…he may become the next PM …. Watch for him, he is Pierre Poilievre. A very nasty piece of business..

Some people are quite worried that if Trump wins in the US

and Poilievre in Canada that it can.only mean disaster for both countries

Yes. I too am worried about that.

Poilievre is very nasty, on one of your episodes you had a friend or maybe he was an in-law that promotes Poilievre the nasty one, it was very disturbing.

Thanks. I’m aware of Pierre. Yes, he is one of the nasties and someone to keep an eye on.

Steve, great to read that you and your family are visiting Nova Scotia - one of the nicest provinces in Canada. If you get the chance and the time, the drive to Cape Breton Island is superb. The vistas are a photographer’s delight. And of course the locals are so welcoming. A boiled lobster lunch or dinner at Ingonish Beach will allow you to swim in the northern Atlantic as it warms to 62 to 66 degrees. My granddaughter is attending Dalhousie in September and we’ll be visiting regularly. Enjoy your well deserved holiday. 🇨🇦

We spent two weeks touring around Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Cape Breton last summer with the US Lighthouse Society. What great places. They are beautiful, the people are awesome and I love that there is actually countryside between cities. I had a thought that I could live there, but then reminded myself at as a Southern Californian, the winters there can be pretty wicked. When we visited Peggy's Cove in 2011, it didn't have the crowds it does now. The cruise ships have added this spot to their territory and the crowds are crazy. Huge parking lots have been built to accommodates hundreds of tour buses. I feel fortunate we were able to see it when we did, without hundreds of people scrambling around on the rocks.

Unless, that is, you visit in December! We stopped late in December a year or two back, and the wind was cold enough to freeze you like carbonite, but the beauty - minus all the people - is stunning! Highly recommended.

I was there in Sumer 2011 as well. Didn’t realize I was lucky. No big crowds.

Tucker was close to where his species started, the Indians in Labrador were the first to breed them. They were brought back to Britain by ship’s captains where they were bred in England and Scotland. The Scottish line was killed in a fire and the aristocrats who had been breeding them, while on a hunting trip in England happened upon the only family that was still breeding them there. They gave them a pair to take back with them to Scotland, meanwhile the line died out in England due to lack of interest and the pair that went up to Scotland became the founding parents of every Lab in the world today. They make the sweetest pets, I treasured the times I had with mine, she was born to swim, enjoy your trip 🙏

Steve, you are a beacon of hope and reason. Once upon a time I was having a meal next to your table in BC and did not want to bother you for opinions. It was during the darkest days of the Trump regime. I am so grateful that you are flying the flag of warning and informing those who care to save their nation from the evils of MAGA. I fled a socialist country 50 years ago and I have begin to wonder if I might be better off fleeing once again. PS Your little Mabel is a treasure and it brings me great comfort to just see her pics (I lost my sweet Sancho Panza schnoodle) in your good care. Keep up the yeoman’s work you diligently carry out - it is ESSENTIAL at this time, and in this age. From an American in distress.

A perfect break!

Enjoy your break with your human family and two adorable beasties. I hope it’s not super-hot in Nova Scotia. We’re traveling in Utah, and couldn’t believe the 103-degree (Fahrenheit, of course) temp at Zion national park. It’s like being home in Palm Desert, California! Stay safe, and don’t think about you-know-who.

Have fun ...We all need a break! Exhausting week...Every time I hear or see Trump it makes me realize what opportunities we have to beat him at the polls...again...unity with the same message from all of us who believe in preserving Democracy is the key...more than who...MLK is still speaking even though he is no longer with us...it's the message...that is what is important!! Voting Blue...no matter who!! After hearing about the great "Hannibal Leichter" and Victor Orban in Trumps acceptance speech and continuing at his rallies...I think we are making "Much to do about nothing" when it comes to running against Trump...if Biden remains we have to talk about what he did to make our future better...and what he can do if we win big...President...House...and Senate...always about the future...and the path to a new generation! Winner take all...that should be the goal to give people a reason to vote. As what almost happened to Trump...no one can guarantee being there...but just like MLK, JFK or FDR and many other great leaders... their words will always be heard! Have a fun Break!
