Christian nationalism is evil and dangerous. It is antithetical to Christianity. It is profoundly dangerous. It is on the ballot all across America.
Christian nationalism is incompatible with American democracy and pluralism. When political extremists take power in the name of God there is always death.
I was pleased to participate in “American Theocracy: The Rise of Christian Nationalism,” a documentary set to be released in January. I am delighted to preview this trailer to The Warning community. I would encourage you to share it within your own networks as a public service announcement to “get out the vote” on November 8th.
The separation of church and state and religious freedom are profoundly important foundational achievements of the American republic. The extremists who seek power in God’s name are not benign men and women. I hope this will be a warning.
On a related note and to each do our part to influence the outcome of the midterm elections, I want to promote an idea that was shared by The Warning community member Sam Urdank. He has proposed that The Warning subscribers each donate either $5.00 each to five Democratic candidates (or $25.00 total) in tight races across the country. Small dollar donations can have a significant impact in deciding election outcomes. Feel free to choose the candidates whom you would like to support. Here are five to consider whom I have previously discussed:
Flip Ohio Blue: Tim Ryan needs your help in his Senate race against JD Vance, the California “Yale-billy.” Donate here. Learn more about Vance here.
Keep Georgia Blue: Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock needs your help to keep Georgia blue so Democrats can protect its Senate majority. Donate here. To read about his opponent, the mentally ill Herschel Walker, learn more here.
Keep Pennsylvania in Democratic hands: Josh Shapiro, Pennsylvania’s attorney general, is running against Doug Mastriano, the Pennsylvania confederate, for governor. Shapiro needs your help. Donate here. Learn more about Mastriano here.
Flip Arizona Blue: Katie Hobbs, Arizona’s secretary of state, is running against election conspiracist Kari Lake for governor. Hobbs needs your help to flip Arizona blue. Donate here. Learn more about Lake here.
Defend democracy by supporting Evan McMullin, Utah Senate candidate: Donate here. Learn more about his opponent, the seditionist Mike Lee here.
What I intend to do is to share all of the essays I have written about these five races for free across my Twitter and Facebook channels leading up to the midterms. The goal is to inform as many people as possible about the dangers associated with these dreadful Republican candidates. Once they are made available, I would encourage you to share them as widely as possible as well.
Thanks for your continued support of The Warning.
Steve
I'm an old guy. For over 30 years I've been telling people "Watch out for the White Christian Evangelicals". Now I see they have renamed themselves Christian Nationalists. So they went from pretending to be just bible reading protestants, to what they really are, power hungry racists. Took a long time to expose themselves, but now at least we can all see their true face. Christians? They don't have any idea what that really is. What they are pursuing is power. Power to change how you like your life, how your children will live theirs. Clearly no care for the "Separation of church and state". Even over 200 years ago our forefathers knew how dangerous the church could be and separated them from government.
Donated. We must get back to reality, the Separation of Church and State.
