There is a deep sickness within our broken politics that is driven by a lust for power that has grown completely detached from the concepts of service and patriotism. Mitch McConnell, the fading and decrepit leader of the Senate, is a totem of this disease. Even in his 80s — and knowing the vandalism done by Trump to the institutions that sustain and nourish the republic — McConnell has thrown in with him again.
Donald Trump returned to Washington on Thursday — his first time since the January 6 insurrection. Mitch McConnell and all of the sycophantic MAGA senators lined up like clapping North Koreans at the Politburo in Pyongyang. They debased themselves and the US Senate for selfish reasons and personal interest that come before the Constitution and the nation.
Following the meeting, Trump declared:
This is an outstanding group of people. I'm with them 1,000%, they're with me 1,000%. We agree on just about everything and if there isn't, we work it out.
McConnell described it as a “positive meeting:”
He and I got a chance to talk a little bit and shook hands a few times. He got a lot of standing ovations. It was an entirely positive meeting. Mitt Romney was there as well.
Said Ted Cruz:
It was a terrific meeting. President Trump was in very good spirits, focused on winning back the White House.
When asked how the party can be united when some senior Republicans had previously blamed Trump for the January 6 attack, J.D. Vance said:
No real Republican with any credibility in the party is still blaming him.
They simply don’t care. Every one of them knows who Trump is, and they have decided that if they help him burn it all down, they might have a comfortable nest in the ash. It isn’t just tragic or sad, it’s evil and it’s wrong. The American people have allowed for the accumulation of enough imbeciles in Washington, DC, to topple the entire American experiment because Trump couldn’t psychologically handle being rejected by the country that he abused and violated.
Most every single clapping Republican/MAGA senator in the room would be the first to tell you how much they love Jesus — and how much America needs him — while cheering for a rapist who desecrates their faith — like their country — with almost every spoken word. The hypocrisy of it all is beyond the beyond.
They are clapping for the calls to violence and mayhem. They are clapping for the calls to crush dissent and lock up dissenters. They are clapping for corruption and cruelty, meanness and bullying. They are cheering the rise of a new Confederacy that is bearing down and coming fast.
Make no mistake. The men in these photos think they are ascendant and winning. They can taste the power in the air, and they want it. Badly.
We must not give it to them.
We must say, “NO.”

The only ones that have any balls about their true feelings of this despicable POS are the ones leaving office. The others are in pathetic and notably fake adoration for this clown who wants to tear down the American democratic experiment. But hey, as long as they bow down to their wanna be authoritarian god king, they have job security. Their collective and individual moral compasses are somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle. It's disgusting. Vote. Vote. Vote!
‘…they have decided that if they help him burn it all down, they might have a comfortable nest in the ash.’
I think that clearly sums up the MAGA mindset and why anyone with two brain cells to rub together would support the moron.
Speaking of the moron, in today’s ‘Letter from an American’ HCR tells about a meeting that the moron had with industry leaders who described him as unfocused, rambling, and expressed concerns about him. About time!! I sure hope they share this with the MSM and the public. We MUST not allow this fool to sit at The Resolute Desk again!!
