So. Where is Liz Cheney? She is on record as saying that she would do everything within her power to keep trump out of office. Where is former president GW Bush? Where is Mitt Romney? I applaud McMasters and Kinzinger, etc who have come forward to warn about the dangers of trump. I applauded the aides and members of the trump administration that have added their voices. But where are Cheney, Bush, and Romney? For that matter, where is Mike Pence? Which side of history do you want to be on? Time is running out. Tick Tock!

Perhaps they're just cooling their heels for a more opportune time. Maybe coordinating to provide the most oomph? Let's just hope so...

Cheney says she will start speaking up in September so she will not get lost in the media melee. Bush and Romney have endorsed Harris and Walz. Pence? Who knows, but he is not endorsing Trump.

Thank you. I heard what Cheney said, though I thought she would have been quite impactful speaking at the DNC.

When did Bush and Romney endorse Harris/Walz? I must Google it.

I confess I am spending less time reading/watching the news because a lot of my time is taken up by writing postcards for BlueWave Postcard Movement. Right now I am writing cards targeting Democratic leaning voters in Georgia.

I was wrong about Bush so it must have been someone else that supported Harris/Walz at the same time at Romney. So sorry about the outcome.

They are the same questions I have. I was really disappointed in Liz Cheney, especially since she said she would not vote for trump or the Dems. So much for her claim about wanting to save the nation from trump. She voted for right wing issues over 95% of the time.

Nov 5, 2024 = this generation’s “D-Day”. Where all true Americans patriots (regardless of party) vote the ticket as Democrat for-a-Day. Perhaps I should not compare our election to the horrors of all that happened on the shores of Normandy, but Nov 5th will decide the fate of democracies - ours & around the world. These MAGA fascists are dangerous. Surely there are some true republican patriots who will be willing to be a democrat for a day …. or maybe I’m just wishfully thinking & desperately naive. Likely both. (I know). Thanks for continuing to call MAGA out, Steve.

Well said! And hey, if TFG can say, "Not getting STDs was my own personal Vietnam" (after 5 deferrals for bone spurs that to this day he can't tell anyone which foot), you have all the latitude you need in making the comparison you suggest. Sure, certainly not the same, but impactful in the way you intended.

As fan fav commentor John D says, "November 5th is Trash Day." So, let's make sure TFG and Vance are taken to the curb.

Thanks, Mike. I appreciate your understanding the intention behind my words. I’d have done anything for those guys that day and will do so every day, especially Nov 5 🇺🇸

The Dems are really pushing against Project 2025 to let voters know what's going on. I hope they're paying attention.

So many Republicans should be screamingly trashing Trump. Kudos to Adam Kinzinger.

I wish I could get my Mother to listen to you just once Steve. I reminded her again how she said she couldn't vote for him after January 6th and she looked at me and said I never said Im going to Vote for him but I can't vote for Harris either. Sigh. She said I probably won't Vote. What a waste.

I hope more more Republicans continue to speak out. Like George Bush. Where is he? Sure would love to know. Might make a big difference. So so ready for Trump to be GONE.

Seeing elected Republicans emerging from their fear bunkers is indisputable proof that the tide has turned. This particular group, who hold significant powers of persuasion, and are demonstrating that taking a stand against the schoolyard bullies is possible, positive and effective, empowers the growing crowds carrying now the torches and pitchforks, marching toward the monster.

We need every honest former Republican possible in North Carolina to deliver the word and bring down Chump’s poll number, which indicates 45 percent of registered voters here have a favorable view of him. I realize I am asking for a miracle because anyone holding a favorable view of this man needs more than the word.

And Robinson's poll numbers!

I have been hoping that Robinson would be a huge drag on the ticket and help matters. He is polling behind Stein, but there are still too many people here willing to vote for this man — a man who in four years as Lieutenant Governor has done absolutely ZERO. A zero for a zero too busy slandering women.

I have to say only you can make me laugh out loud when it comes to Trump...thank you Steve !

I heard that one of Trumps staff started a physical altercation with a staff member from Arlington Cemetery yesterday..The person was trying to to tell them they can't film or use it for campaign purposes..It is beyond disgusting ... How is it the race is going to be close ? Why ... I wish it would be a blow out for her... Maybe they would crawl back under the rocks where they belong. The constant violence is repugnant..

From the trenches of North Carolina: I saw some Mark Robinson supporter say he’s the guy to fix North Carolina’s educational system. I have to get this straight: a man who says when women could not vote was a great era for this country is the man to make education great again?

Robinson is not the problem here. The people who elected him Lieutenant Governor are the problem.

The "big name" Republicans are laying low because they know what will happen to them.. and their families.. if Fuehrer Trump unleashes the MAGA horde on them. They are Trumps SA, and their gameplan is silence through intimidation. It is unamerican and sick. Hopefully, as the election gets closer, and the peril to our nation grows, those high profile GOP'ers will decide to do the right thing, despite the risk involved.

Historically, the GOP has been the "law and order" party.

Generally, Republicans are opposed to people who steal. Donald has been stealing by deceit, fraud and lies for decades. Read Judge Engeron's 92 page ruling in the business fraud case. He called Donald's fraudulent behavior "pathological". Donald has stolen money from banks, insurance companies, tax authorities and regular people. Doing it now, daily. Digital trading cards? Blatant con game to take money from gullible people. (How many billionaires hawk bibles and digital trading cards?) He is a thief. Why would any rational Republican want to elect a thief to be President?

Generally, Republicans are a good judge of character. Donald admires dictators and murderous oligarchs. He surrounds himself with the ignorant, stupid dregs of the political world. Corey? Marge? Rudy? Roger? Manafort? Humans a respectable Republican would avoid any contact with.

So it's not a surprise there are millions of registered Republicans, and former registered Republicans, who oppose Donald. The surprise is the number of Republicans who have sold out to Donald's corruption.

Steve is correct, the Republicans are beginning to turn on Traitor Trump and yesterday Trump stated he was all for IVF and stating the Federal government should pay for it! This is the same nutjob that bragged about the U.S. Kangaroo Court declaring Roe illegal? How will the rapid anti-abortion MAGA feel about Trump’s flip flopping? The BIG BLUE TSUNAMI IS FORMING AS WE OLD WHITE DUDES ARE HAVING ANOTHER ZOOM CALL SHORTLY!!!

I salute the patriotism of all the Republicans who have crossed party lines to endorse Kamala Harris. It should be easy to put country over party but in this upsidedown world of trumpism patriotism is in question. One side worships someone who denigrates our country and military with his actions and words and true patriots who stand up to his bullying and defend the Constitution.

I have a wishcast that we haven't seen the OG Republican big guns come out yet because they think it's too early and the campaign would be about THEM for 10 weeks. So they're waiting for....like....mid-October, near the very end of the campaign. OR maybe if they see the polls faltering around that time. They may think why expose myself like that if she's winning without me.
