I’m grateful for you today in telling your truth. I had a wonderful weekend with my love as well as we navigate through the process of healing from my breast cancer diagnosis. We’re people who get our energy through nature and hiking, beauty in art and music, writing, and reading history. So, your loves speak to me this morning. Thank you. Stay safe. Safe grounded. Stay on top of your game.

We need more to voice sentiments like this, Steve. We are not making enough progress. ✌️

“…in spite of these spectacular strides in science and technology, and still unlimited ones to come, something basic is missing. There is a sort of poverty of the spirit which stands in glaring contrast to our scientific and technological abundance. The richer we have become materially, the poorer we have become morally and spiritually. We have learned to fly the air like birds and swim the sea like fish, but we have not learned the simple art of living together as brothers.” - Martin Luther King Jr. 12/11/64

Yesterday it snowed, and my husband got the snow plow stuck in our driveway. The power went out and we lost the internet. I spent the the day making art and watching the snow fall which can be rare in California. It was a a wonderful day and I am grateful I get to live here, where everyday is a new adventure. I do appreciate your writing,

between you and Heather Cox Richardson I have learned so much. Keep writing and sharing, we will be ok.

First, go 49ers! I live in a woods, on a small river. Daily, I watch the unfolding of life in my little part of the world, not human life , but my tribe of birds, squirrels, ducks, geese, deer, hawks. If I am looking up at the right time, with the leaves off the trees, I see an eagle flying above the river. While I don’t have the love of my life with me, I have discovered love of the natural, of peace and quiet. What happened yesterday? My 9ers won big and I watched an eagle fly.

Thank you, Steve for these moments. I was walking w husband and Gracie (4leg wonder) on our evening walk, as the first darkness developed and I saw the sparkling star. I stood in the middle of the street defying any mobile object to speed pass, feeling the soft tears rolling slowly down my face. Why now, I thought. Then I remembered: I haven't seen the stars in more than a year as we fought our way thru covid and moving and so much more. We are now making a huge change to go back north and leave the corrupted state we are in. We are changing.

I'm grateful today, for you words of wisdom, Steve. I am recently retired and moved to Arizona a year ago. I now have the time to go explore the national parks and not have to squeeze them into a weekend! Your recent trips have inspired me! The love of MY life and I will be wandering to California, Moab, Montana, etc. after the New Year!! Off Twitter and into the National Parks!!!

I was also happy and content yesterday with family and friends in conversations about living in a time where choices exist beyond what we ever imagined. Even our terms of engagement and interaction with one another comes with a choice.

Time for us to understand, our personal peace cannot be violated when we choose to engage with kindness, compassion, empathy and love - for that is what makes us Divine.

Brings a smile to read a man's thoughts about being with the woman he loves. We're blessed to have the relationship, whatever our circumstance, wherever we are.
