RollingStone has broken a story tonight sourced with a few CNN insiders who were /are "appalled" that CNN executives -- ostensibly the new CEO of CNN, right-leaning Chris Licht-- allowed this town hall with Trump to go forward. Lots of pushback from CNN personnel.
Not surprised. It hurts their reputations. He should apologize to the employees of CNN. Then to Ted Turner. Then to the American people - and resign. And as our President B would say, “not a joke”.
I’m in. Hoping someone with time and an eye to accuracy can provide a legitimate list of current CNN advertisers. I’ll be happy to write them to express my outrage at their spending their advertising dollars on that station with a promise that if they don’t pull out they will lose my consumer dollars for whatever their service/product. CNN will no longer enjoy my viewership. It does come down to the advertising dollars. Pull the advertisers and CNN will pay attention. Quite notable in CNN's coverage of the town hall were the cutaway shots showing audience reaction-- and MANY TIMES one could see that large numbers of people in the audience were not applauding or yelling out in support of Trump but were sitting quietly, almost sullenly, as Trump repeated his litany of lies. As i mention elsewhere here, a CNN "update" at their website tells how a focus group discussion with 8 audience members came up with only ONE PERSON saying they would vote for Trump after this evening's display.
CNN is reporting that immediately after the town hall, a focus group discussion was held by CNN with 8 members of the audience, and ONLY 1 OUT OF 8 SAID THEY WOULD VOTE FOR TRUMP. The rest were "undecided" after watching Trump's dismal performance. And note that almost every "undeclared voter" in that audience seemed to have voted for Trump in 2020 judging by how K.Collins introduced each questioner:

I am convinced that it was due to all the anger, despair, disgust, fear and hatred I felt during the 3 years prior, weakening my immune system. I made the same decision. the former guy Pussy Ass Bitch criminal defendant sexual assaulter defamer is toxic waste. He is bad for our health. I got cancer in 2029. I am convinced that it was due to all the anger, despair, disgust, fear and hatred I felt during the 3 years prior, weakening my immune system. I am working hard to let the toxic waste roll off but it is an up hill battle.

Ok, I admit, against my better judgement I watched Trump take advantage of the generous opportunity presented him by Chris Licht of CNN, to blow the lid off the new News Chief's effort to take a bite out of the FOX apple. Also to see if Kaitlan Collins could keep up with the motor mouth bloviator and prevaricator in chief. The experiment failed spectacularly, although Kaitlan did a decent job of TRYING to keep him in check, Trump was on top of his game, lying right out of the chute and continuing to bloviate on his favorite subjects, ad nauseum. All to the approving audience who clapped, laughed and cheered as he controlled the stage. Somehow he failed to get "lock her up" into the dialogue. Although "drill baby drill" made it. Trump is Trump, nothing new...as reprehensible as ever.
