Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik and Trump vice presidential contender erupted on Fox News this weekend after she was asked about her previous statements about President Trump. Back in 2015, when Stefanik was newly elected to Congress, she told a local radio station that Trump was "insulting" to women and stood against what she was fighting for in politics. Years later, she has vowed total allegiance to Trump. This, coupled with Justice Samuel Alito's corruption and Senator Marco Rubio refusing to say he'll accept election results, is worrisome for democracy. I call out the hypocrisy and analyze the transformation into MAGA extremism:
The problem with people like Elise Stefanik is they are amoral and rudderless. Those who are so self-absorbed as she is are people who offer no real, palpable value to society. They are selfish opportunists who do far greater harm than they do any greater good. Trump may be insulting to women. Stefanik is an insult to the general public and society as a whole.
Stefanik is worrisome?! Really?! WTF?! She is an insurrectionist and a traitor to this country. She should be tried and sentenced to the death penalty. The one thing I try to do to keep the MAGA losers out of my life is to practice Stoicism. A brief word: Separate your initial reaction from your final judgment. Refuse to walk down negative paths. Evaluate your thoughts to align them, as best you can, with wisdom. Vote blue and encourage others to do the same. Change the narrative ultimately.
Helen, there’s a very helpful guide to Stoicism by Matthew Van Natta. I have read the Stoics through the years. But lately I wanted to pursue it, much as people pursue mindfulness or yoga or meditation, etc. I must say, for the age we live in, Stoicism seems highly practical and beneficial.

The Arab world comprises 22 countries and 6 million miles. Why is it that every Arab border is closed to Palestinians? And where else in the world can you disagree with your government and not be imprisoned in the Middle East except for Israel?
