Warning #3: Don't let Trump through the door
Heading into the final stretch of the presidential election, I am publishing 10 specific warnings about the existential threat at hand facing the American way of life. Make no mistake, it is under attack from within:

The Madison Square Garden MAGA rally of October 27, 2024, was a hideous event that offered a glimpse into a very bleak future in which unhinged liars, crackpots, conspiracy theorists, fascists, apocalyptic religious extremists, spoiled children and washed up celebrities will yield immense political power. They intend to use it to pursue a radical agenda that will transform the character and culture of the United States. Donald Trump made it perfectly clear that the world’s most powerful military will be deployed domestically to deport 20 million people under a law that was passed and widely regarded as a stain on our young nation in 1798.
Donald Trump is the leader of a fascist political movement that has revealed itself fully.
Let us hope that our fellow citizens are nimble enough to sniff out the lies they are being peddled, the hate they are being sold, and the scapegoats who are being blamed for every problem that was, or ever will be.
Let us hope that they are smart enough to know that when a demagogue rises up, preaching a gospel of division while promising unity, that they are in danger.
Let us hope that when they see the snake oil being peddled by charlatans like Dr. Phil, Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk, they can recognize that it is all a scam, and they are the marks.
Let us hope that they know that any man who claims that he can singularly fix anything if only they have enough power is not to be trusted.
Let us hope that they can detect the greatest lie of all, which is that there is a hidden and insidious plot bearing down on America, as dangerous as it is invisible, which can only be stopped by collectively punishing the “enemy within.”
Let us hope that they have within them the American spirit of defiance and an unquenchable thirst for liberty.
Let us hope that they can see what took place last night as something terrifying, alien and deeply un-American.
Let us hope that they can see the aggressive and brainwashed crowd fully enthralled by Trump, and are repulsed by the weakness to the submission to the surrender of common sense, agency and individualism.
Let us hope that they understand what occurred in Madison Square Garden was a desecrative event. It was a mass proverbial flag burning, where instead of the cloth symbol of freedom being burned, it was every American value instead. Donald Trump threw a sanitized Klan rally cleaned up some for the Sunday night “fascist light” crowd, but it is exactly as it appeared to be.
The choice ahead is existential.
Fascism did not take power in the 1930s because it was strong or popular, but because democracy was weak and corrupt.
Fascists do not stand at the gates of power in 2024 because they are strong, but because the American media has been negligent, the opposition weak and the American people apathetic. Time is up to care, and ambivalence in this moment will help usher in a national catastrophe of which very few people have any sense. This is an urgent moment. Only the American people can stop a terrible threat from rooting itself into a position of profound power.
The third warning is this:
Fascism has fully arrived in America. As predicted, it is wrapped in the flag and carrying the cross. The leader is Donald Trump, and his proposition is a con. He has promised to remake the world and free America from every problem under the sun, so long as he has all the power to make all the rules and punish all of his enemies. The only way for him to get that power is to seize it by getting through the door first. Only
we the people can let him through the door, and it would arguably be the dumbest decision any citizenry will have ever made. Truly.
Don’t do it.
Chump is a symptom. The cause is difficult to pin down to one thing, but we do have 80 million Americans who apparently want to see the destruction of the current system of government. There seems also a strong wish for a patriarchal society that puts men first and women second. You can see it clearly when you look at who is getting elected in many states. Wolves in sheep’s clothing ready to subjugate women. It certainly is apparent in the South, where I live.
If the Harris campaign fails to connect what happened in MSG last night with the rally of American Nazis in MSG that occurred in the late 1930’s then shame on them.
Pound the point constantly and substitute Hitlers rallies into the mix. He just gave you this. Hit him with it. Provide ignorant Americans with a salutary history lesson.
