Steve, I live in rural New Hampshire and I don’t see many Harris Walz signs but plenty of Trump Vance. I can’t help but wonder if the MAGA influence is frightening liberals from actively proclaiming their positions.
The violence encapsulating the MAGA movement has stifled normal political discourse. It seems to me that the word liberal has been sullied by the conservatives. For so long people who disagree with progressive values and ideas have demonized liberals to the point where the actual word “liberal” has been likened to communism or something undefined but awful.
It’s high time liberals take back the word and wear it with pride…the greatest attribute of liberals is to be open minded. Liberals welcome new ideas, and in a world that is changing at such a rapid pace everyone needs to be open minded to the inevitable change that is occurring.

It’s scary out there today, but how many reasons do thinking people need to realize that the Republican Party is broken beyond repair. Where are the Republican intellectuals? I wonder if people fear, like in Portage County, OH, names and addresses of Harris/Walz sign addresses being reported for retaliation by the sheriff there or by neighbors. I want to believe in homes with 2 or more voters, the MAGA vote will be matched by at least one blue vote.

If I were to strategize for winning this election, I would look closely at the swing states and try to determine what message could persuade enough voters to give Harris a win in each one. Sadly, but let’s be clear-eyed about it, there are enough votes in those state to hand the Electoral College to the MAGA Crime Syndicate. If it is possible, and I do not know if it is, these voters must be persuaded.

Terrible to live in a country where fascists intimidate voters. Many of my friends are not putting out signs for this very reason. We only have one Trump sign in our whole neighborhood.
Steve & Chris S, I live in Maine , where the southern part of the state is strongly Democratic, with lots of Republicans but up in the less populated & more rural northern parts of Maine, it’s Trump country. We have Harris/Walz signs out front that are run over, defaced, & stolen frequently. This started happening in 2016 & has gotten worse. When Biden ran in 2020 , the police found a huge stash of stolen signs in a gravel pit! I’m writing to confirm that many people have told me, they are afraid to put up Harris signs, for fears of retaliation by Republicans. Thank you Steve for all your writing to support all our freedoms.
