Like many Americans, I cannot stomach cable or network news at the moment. I subscribe to trusted journalists’ substacks, I read the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, but listening to the news as I used to,with talking heads yammering at me, is more than I can bear at the moment. Once Musk/Trump are in office and the nuclear codes have been turned over, the focus will change and the resistance must begin. This may have been our last peaceful holiday season for some years, we should all savor it. Now is the time to start planning a robust midterm election, and to think about ousting some of the wrinkly old institutionalists who helped get us where we are today. We need a nimble, creative, honest, and energetic Democratic opposition to the horrible absurdity unfolding in plain sight.
