Great analysis as always Steve! One small correction, Tina Peters was an election official in Grand Junction, Colorado. As an AZ resident, we had a Cochise County election in 2022 attempt to not certify an election and she quickly changed her mind when she was threatened with arrest for violation of AZ election law! VOTE ALL BLUE FOR SANITY AND PROSPERITY!!!

At least that clerk in AZ was more sensible and less self-aggrandizing than Peters. FAFO, Tiiiiiina....

I am highly amused that Trump thinks he is genetically superior when I see him as genetically flawed, and deeply flawed at that. He is grotesquely vulgar and visibly ugly. Trump is as ugly on the outside as he is on the inside, with those insides a toxic rot.

Over many weeks I have been saying to myself, "I thought we were to enjoy life. That it is our inalienable right to live in reasonable contentment." Then comes along Trump and his cabal of angry belligerents. They try to siphon off all the good joy and happy feels. They have "Misery loves company:" emblazoned across their frontal lobes. They are society's political excrement. Having emptied the swamp (presumably) they opened a huge cesspool in which they swim daily. No need to ask the more reasoned among us if we want to jump in. No thanks. Your stench is unbearable enough.

So true. I can't speak for all the MAGAs but at least a large proportion of them are quick to hate and blame because they are unhappy with their own lives and live in a small sphere of awareness. This makes them highly susceptible to the politics of resentment and fear as well as disinformation. If there is one thing Lying DonOld does well, it is to tap into this vulnerable demographic. What's worse, these personality types are extremely obstinate, so getting them to understand that they are being lied to and used is very difficult.

Points well made! Trump "knows" his audience. He is quite shrewd in how he manipulates his followers, who I describe as mental degenerates. My brother is one of those down-in-the-mouth Trumpers. We do not talk politics. Of the three kids, he had the best of all worlds: One home for his entire life; same two parents for his entire life; never really wanting. My older sister and I had two sets of parents and moved five times in six years! I have overheard my brother talking to his buddies. Simply garbage. I will never understand his lies, his ignorance and his willing (as an “evangelical”) to buy into the Trump lies, sludge and sewerage.

I will add to your "obstinate" the terms belligerent, ignorant, hate-filled, intolerant and some who are violent. I am reminded how some people fear putting up Harris/Walz yard signs while those who put up Trump/Vance yard signs express no fear at all. That pretty much sums up the two sides in this moment.

Belligerent, ignorant, violent are standout adjectives for them.

The over-arching problem is the number of people who have bought into his screed. Trump has seduced a large population, making them complicit partners in his evil.

I started referring to the odious Donald Trump as "America's Mussolini" about 9 years ago when he started imperiously posing with his jutting chin. I am of Italian descent. We remember. This pissant imposture is a threat to everything and everyone you and I and all of your readers hold dear.

Listening to Hugh Hewitt refer to Trump as Mr. President was sickening. Hewitt has obviously lost all self-respect in his devotion to a fascist leader.

Listening to Elon Musk and Tucker Carlson attempting to belittle Harris and Biden by saying they are too insignificant to bother assassinating while giggling like two middle school naughty boys reveals the character and temperament of people caught up in the web of Nazi hatred, lies, and racism.

Trump calling for weaponization of the DOJ to "get" his political enemies while the true believers cheer him on made me cry for America.

MTG claiming Democrats create and direct deadly storms toward Republican strongholds while denying they are a result man's use of fossil fuels illustrates the stupidity of fascist supporters, who will say and do anything for their "leader."

This is all so profoundly disturbing and sad. I always wondered how a man like Hitler could achieve authoritarian power in Germany. Now, I know.

I think the exact I wish someone could explain how Musk is campaigning bragging about a position on Trumps round table and he’s not even a American citizen they scream get rid of immigrants well let’s start with Elon Musk he’s a illegal alien

Unfortunately, Elon Musk became a naturalized American citizen in 2002. Remember, adding to Trump's obvious hypocrisy, is the fact that Malania is a naturalized citizen and that his mother was an immigrant from Scotland and his paternal grandfather emigrated to America from Germany.

George H. W. Bush always was interviewed by Hewitt playing 18 holes on the golf course. When Rush Limbaugh was invited to the White House, Daddy Bush went out and carried in Limbaugh's luggage, the only person granted such highly staged privledge. It is all about the privledges of the elite granting elitist privledges to the elite, openly, pompously ceremonial. Another word is strutting.

Listen, a man who tries to overthrow the government and

who refuses the peaceful transfer of power when he loses

an election, is not a man who should be permitted to run for president of the United States. And may I say that Elon Musk is shockingly disappointing. I never expected such an accomplished man to be so immoral and indecent.

Some Republicans give me hope that if Trump is soundly defeated on 11/5, they will awaken to his lies and fascism:

"During Hill’s (R-Congressman, Arkansas) Tuesday appearance on Fox Business, Bartiromo slammed President Joe Biden, saying that FEMA 'running out of money' was 'the biggest failure of this administration.'

'How is it possible that FEMA is out of money?' Bartiromo asked the representative from Arkansas.

Hill’s response was blunt.

'FEMA is not out of money,' he said, adding that 'Congress is ready to replenish the funding as soon as we get back to Washington. They have the money to take care of Florida, take care of North Carolina, and take care of Georgia.'

Bartiromo, however, went on to offer another dubious claim—pushed by GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump—that FEMA money was being used for illegal immigrants instead of hurricane relief.

Hill immediately undercut this argument as well, correctly pointing out that the money Bartiromo was referencing was 'out of a completely different account … not connected to the hurricane relief.'

The one advantage we have with Trump over Hitler, Trump’s is a moron in everything except self promotion. Also Trump is easily manipulated and can be bought by either side. If Trump wins, the first under the bus are minorities ( religion, ethnicity, gender), then it will be his cult because he won’t need them.

If there are any subhumans amongst us, it's not the people of color—it's the Trumps, the Leonard Leos, the Kevin Roberts, the Stephen Millers, the Steven Chungs, the MTGs, and all of the sycophants! They are all bullies and criminals. Aren't we all sick to death of the hatred and the lies?

I made a mistake. Trump is not an Impostor. That is too easy. No. He is the real thing. The real evil thing, the real threat. He's not impersonating Hitler or Mussolini. He is his own man. His own brand of diabolical bastard. Unique and American. Trump is a CAT-5 Threat to American Democracy and our Constitutional Republic.

Convicted felon/adjudicated sexual assaulter projects as always. If there are bad genes extant, he is the glaring example. His sociopathic father passed them down to him, and judging by his kids, at least 3 of them (so far) have those "bad genes" from him. Someday geneticists may identify the loci of the genes for colossal abilities in mendacity, avarice, and megalomania from studying him and his family.
