A thousand times, no I’m sure millions of times, at this point, YES, Steve. Beginning with HRC, who’s loss, manufactured by hate and a complicit media, (and God only knows what other shenanigans) told us in no uncertain terms. We New Yorkers always knew, and detested his presence in the political arena. Many many knew and turned their heads. We will be reeling from that irresponsibility for generations.

Dear God, if you exist make this happen. Take this scourge from our lives. Remove this blight on our democracy, and our world. And-that is not rhetoric, but a real prayer.

Absolutely right! Time for crooked Trump to be put in jail. He has gotten away with too much for too long. We in NY/NJ have seen too much of his corruption and foreign money. We are still asking the same questions? Deutsche Bank ? Kennedy’s son? Trump SoHo? What does he owe the Russians and Gulf Arabs? Still waiting.

Oh, Marsha - what a coincidence! My beloved sister (and best friend!) just passed away in a Hospice on June 23rd, after being in the loving care of people like you being so sweet and kind to her! Bless you, Marsha, and all of you who do this kind of work - allowing people to die surrounded by loving kindness. I will be forever grateful for how my sister was treated so tenderly, and how she felt truly cared for by all of you right up to the very end! I miss her terribly...

Marsha, her name was Alicia. We were married in September 1982 after going together fir about a year after she divorced her previous husband, who had abused her and her 4 children. She, and a good close friend of ours had to stop me one evening after I found out what he had done to the two girls. I was heading to his house with full intentions of killing him, and I was a deputy sheriff at the time!

I spent two years with the sheriffs department in DeSoto County, Florida, and afterward I worked at the Department of Corrections for the remainder of my career. I maintained my law enforcement certification so while I was w the FDOC I also had the opportunity to work undercover with the FBI fir a few months. During all of this I also was with a fire department as a volunteer. I underwent firefighting training in the early 70s in South Carolina, along with my law enforcement training. That’s when my career started, and went through to 1995 when the doctors forced me to retire.

As I mentioned, we had almost 40 years together. It was really tough fir us after I was forced to quit working. I was unable to collect a medical retirement from the state of Florida because the state retirement board refused to grant me a medical. They said I was young enough that I could train myself for other employment outside the law enforcement field. At the tkme, I was cjmgjned to a hospital bed in my home, under constant nursing care daily, unable to get out of bed or put any pressure on my legs or back. My pension was $223 a month from the state because they refused my medical, plus penalized me 77% due to my age (45). So, I had 26 good years in my career, and I lived every second of it.

My wife and I moved from DeSoto County (Arcadia), Florida 6 years ago after we lost our home. We moved in with our youngest daughter and her family, which honestly, I wish we hadn’t done. It was a mistake. It caused a lot of friction, and money problems. Problems developed worse between us, Alicia and me, to the point where we didn’t even speak to each other unless she was telling me she needed money for something. We stayed together but hadn’t been ‘together’ for years. Due to my PTSD, she moved from our bedroom years ago. Everything fell apart for me after that. I felt rejected, and alone.

She was diagnosed with advanced stage 4 cancer in October 2021. She had two large masses. One between her lower right lung and the wall of her chest cavity. The other inside her upper right lung. She went through everything until she just gave up. After Christmas that year she told the doctors that she wasn’t taking anymore treatment. She fell one day at the house and we called the ambulance. After we learned she had broken her hip and leg, she was put into Hospice when she was released from the hospital. The doctors told me that she wouldn’t live through the weekend. The cancer had consumed her venture body. It was really tough to see her suffering like she was. But they kept her files up the best they could. She lived about a week there at the hospice Center here in Albany. She was returned to Arcadia and buried next to her first husband and parents.

I can't quarrel with anything you say about the despicable Donald Trump. I pray that he will be found guilty of at least one of his many crimes...but I'm not confident that he will be.

What I am confident in, is that if there's a No Lables 3rd option, it will draw more votes from President Biden and reelect Trump and fascism replace democracy!

I've never disagreed with you more than with your constant negative comments about Biden's age!

Instead of talking about all the great legislation that the Biden administration has been able to deliver for America, and the majority of her people, all you and the MSM focus on is his age. You all are creating this conflict, when you could easily have chosen to praise the job President Biden has done!

I'm very disappointed.

I'm going with The Lincoln Projects fight to expose No Lables, and their Republican backers, for the spoiler they are aiming to be. Their big donors are the same ones supporting DeSantis! They have said that if Trump isn't the nominee, they won't run a candidate.

"A group of prominent Republicans and Democrats, led by former Rep. Dick Gephardt (D-Mo.), launched a super PAC called Citizens to Save Our Republic, on Monday with the goal of fighting No Labels’ efforts to run a third-party candidate."

Thank you for making these points. I have always been a bit of a political junkie, even as a kid, and I am convinced that Joe Biden could very well be the most effective President of my lifetime (I am almost 76).

Joe Biden is currently 80. Donald Trump’s current age is 77. Age is not a consideration for either one as far as how I will vote.

My principal concerns as the next election approaches are closely tied: one is saving our democracy; the other is saving the planet. I admit that I am no expert on Joe Manchin, but he strikes me as far too focused on wielding power and far too closely tied to the fossil fuel industry. I do not see myself voting for him because I cannot see him supporting the measures we must take to address climate change before it’s too late. Obviously, I would never support Donald Trump. I agree with everything Steve says about Trump and his existential threat to democracy.

I see the re-election President Biden as our best hope for a future Republic that I would want for my children and grandchildren. No, it’s not a sexy, cool, out of left (or right) field option, but I love his optimism and his deep patriotism. He’s my unequivocal choice.

Thanks for telling us about Save Our Republic.

The United States of America needs to start with a clean slate withe the Republican Party. The current representatives have been politicized whether they are actively promoting the lie or not and all need to be replaced with fresh new faces who pledge their allegiance to the Constitution and not a ‘false god’. In all the years I’ve been on this earth, I have never seen and heard such blatant liars defend this criminal to the American people. What did he promise them if they defended him and ruined their reputations? You know he’s a narcissist so his promises to the Republican Party members will linger forever unfulfilled. You know once you get him into this so-called ‘power’, he will utter the word “SUCKERS “ as he sits on his ‘throne’. Beware of false gods!

Trump is not in big trouble if there's a third party candidate, whether Manchin or moderate Republican, who takes support from Biden. In that case, Trump can win the election with 34% of the vote, and then pardon himself. That seems to be his strategy, if he is a strategic thinker at all, which I often doubt. He is running for president to raise money for his legal defense and to mount a campaign of "vengeance" against all those who stand in his way. https://jimbuie.substack.com/p/trump-is-not-in-big-trouble

If only serving justice to this one individual would "solve" our "American" problem. However - we still have 119 insurrectionists sitting in Congress - supporting the attempted coup -voting to negate the will of the people, immediately after the first wave of insurrectionists failed to physically capture the capital. They have continued to deny the results of the free and fair election, and eviscerate the remains of what will be left for the next election. When will their justice be served?

Today, treason is deep and wide in our country. They don't attempt to hide it. In fact, they flaunt their plans to hammer the final nails in the coffin of our frail democracy - when they "win" in 2024.

Trump is a cancer on the American people and our way of life. Most Americans do their best to live within the framework of the Constitution. Most Americans live and respect the law and its enforcement. Yes, there have been abuses on citizens, mostly on minorities of color. However, those abuses are an abomination and not the mainstream of law enforcement. Trump wants to burn our country down and make himself king. He is not a monarch. He is a criminal who will have his day in court like any American who breaks the law. That is his right. It is the same right of every American born or naturalized. He does not deserve special treatment, even though he has received special treatment so far because he is a former president. I say let the process of our great justice system do its job and let a jury of Donald J Trump peers decide the merits of the case against him.
