It is disgusting to me that members of congress, and our local and state politicians, would rather protect guns than the citizens that they represent! They cry out; guns are protected in the 2nd Amendment, no matter how brutal and warlike the weapons are! Or , it's not the gun, it's the person using the gun-he/she is mentally ill! Dah, and yet more and more states are allowing weapons to be carried everywhere-concealed or not concealed! I feel that I am living in the "old west"!
What about the rights of the citizens, to be able to have the freedom to assemble: in church, at school, in movie theaters, at parades, in grocery stores, .....? Our political leaders would rather protect the almighty gun, rather than protect innocent citizens! We don't have the freedom to go anywhere, without having the fear of being shot, in the back of our minds! That is not freedom!
In one report of yesterday's shooting, an observer stated that the "gun loving governor", who attended the parade, was seen running with those who are assigned to protect him, to his limo. A father stated, that when shots rang out and people began to run, he picked up his daughter, and his five year old asked him if this was a drill like the ones that they have in school.
I guess that the only way to solve the problems of gun violence in our country, is to do our homework, and vote out ALL the lawmakers, from local to Washington, who won't even think of sensible gun reform and/or have extreme ideas when it comes to protecting guns! Meanwhile, the gun will gain more rights and the citizens will lose theirs!
