It is so telling that Jake Tapper did not follow with the obvious question after Mike Johnson said Trump's picks were people who could "shake things up" and achieve Trump's goals.

The question: Why was Trump unable to find people who could "shake things up" and accomplish his goals who were not perverts, psychotic, cult members, or not smart enough to head the government agencies in question?

Yes, why didn’t Tapper simply tell Johnson “You didn’t answer the question.“?

That too.

Choirboy johnson did NOT answer the question. He is a pathetic example of a “Christian”, whatever the hell a Christian is nowadays…liar!!

An evangelical Christian is a power and money-hungry grifter, con man, and hypocrite or mindless and pathetic follower of such a cult leader, who would have been thrown out of the Temple with the other money-lenders and changers by Jesus in the Biblical story.

Those qualities for Trump are the feature. Not the bug. They’re just like TRUMP. A rapist. A fraudster. A sadist. A predator. A freak. Trump is choosing the worst candidates because they embody ALL of Trump’s disgusting traits.

Yes...stopping them is a must...voices must be heard...even from a few hopefully "Normal" Republicans who see the writing on the wall for the future of their country if they succumb to his demands...I don't think they all want to burn it down...as it will be the end for all of us!

I still feel we should have Freedom rallies to make a home for all of us "Lonely" 49 percenters...It's not chickenfeed...welcoming back those who will see they made a terrible mistake...we need a place to go and we will go there ...to support ...Kamala Harris should welcome them in...not for President but for Freedom....Let her be the Prosecutor and continue the message that got lost in the lies...while we decide who is to lead...Doubling down is what they did with lies...we can do it with truths...

I'm smart enough to know I'm unqualified for any of these cabinet positions. I'm also smart enough to know that none of these charlatans and fools are qualified for these positions either. Why don't they know it?! Seriously flawed characters.

I have very little confidence in House and Senate Democrats to put up an effective fight. They are leaderless now with Biden and Harris out of the picture. Who can be an effective, passionate leader? I can think of no one.

I can’t agree with the concept of “coequal branches of government.” Only the executive branch has any enforcement mechanisms (DOJ, military). The president can simply ignore the other two. What can they do except complain?

No one should be surprised about Trump's choice of Matt Gaetz for Attorney General. A man not exactly admired for his scholarly legal pursuits or judicial temperament, Gaetz is most widely recognized as a viciously rabid attack dog now being put in the service of Donald Trump to inflict revenge on those who dared to oppose him.

In the mould of Senator McCarthy and Roy Cohen, Gaetz will leverage every legal weapon available to him to smear, persecute and bludgeon everyone targeted by Trump as his foe. Trump selected him wisely, but did America select Trump wisely?

The founding fathers of our Constitution built safeguards into it to create checks and balances among our 3 branches of government to avoid abuses by any one branch. One of the most important safeguards against Presidential abuse is the responsibility of the Senate to approve major government appointments by the President.

For Trump to exploit a legal loophole by waiting for or instructing the Republican majority of the Senate to go on recess so that he can then appoint Gaetz and other incompetents like RFK Jr. who will serve as the powerful government officials in the land for 2 years without the scrutiny and consent of the Senate would be an abuse of his power.

Given the recent Supreme Court decisions greatly expanding the President's immunity from prosecution for crimes and illegal acts while acting as President, and given the Trump team's declaration that they intend to dispense with the standard criminal and other background checks on prospective appointees, our country will be edging that much closer to a dictatorship.

The Oxford American Dictionary defines a "dictator" as 1. "a ruler with total power over a country" and 2. "a person who behaves in an autocratic way."

Apparently the nominee for Transportation Secretary is a Fox personality. The serfs and peasants voted for all this. They don’t they’re serfs and peasants, but they are. And there ain’t nothing like a friend to tell them they’re all just serfs and peasants pissing in the wind.

It is the Dems job to make sure EVERY sordid detail about those wretched nominees is known to the american public. If the Republican Senators still vote to confirm them, that will be an albatross that will not leave their sorry, MAGA necks.

Powerfully and clearly stated, Steve. As an antidote for Trump’s fascist, democracy-eviscerating viral contagion, I endorse the only recourse that makes sense with our system of government while minimizing the death, destruction and pain attendant to such a challenge to fascism, to wit, a massive and sustained, multi-tentacled and imaginative nonviolent movement that assimilates and recapitulates the most effective elements, strategies and methods of nonviolent action in human history, similar to those oppositional movements that have brought down dictatorial and sclerotic regimes in Easter Europe and elsewhere, especially in recent history.

I am pretty sure that Trump will rip up the constitution, he will bypass congress and do whatever he likes. He is King, Trump has everybody under his little thumb and anybody who opposes him will be jailed or worse. Trump is a cruel sadistic monster, he is immune so nobody can stop him.

Demonstrations will be met with live bullets, no more free speech, women, minorities and gay people

will lose their rights.

There are no more guardrails, the Supreme Court will do his bidding.

The media and Biden's inability to fight back have brought us here.

The ONLY WAY to get that Pansy SOTH Johnson to RELEASE the Ethics code is if Gaetz proceeds. Keep him in the NEWS. Notice how so many folks are pissed at the nominees, BUT SOMEHOW FAIL TO BLAME THE JUDGMENT OF TRUMP. Pathetic Stategy Jamie Harrison
