He was a traitor to our country by supporting Trump - he erased any chance of being remembered as anything else

Death DOES NOT absolve you of the atrocities you committed.

Brilliant. Instead of Graham the joking entertainer it was the man who turned his back on his country and most of all the people of South Carolina.

I agree… to some extent. It’s always important to give an honest history and not give post-mortem makeovers. But I think it’s also important that we consider another factor: https://intellectualdorkweb.substack.com/p/lindsey-graham-was-horrible-and-im

I have published several papers making the case, evinced by dozens of actual events, that DJT was blackmailed by Putin. I am not making the same case about Sen Graham, but it would in fact explain his utterly bewildering 180 degree shift from a harsh critic of him to a staunch ally. Kompromot—something the Russians are exceptionally good at, including Putin. He was both a high KGB official and in fact the head of the FSB following the fall of communism.

Whatever else Lindsey Graham may have done in his life is thoroughly overshadowed by what he did in his last decade on earth. His disgraceful legacy was earned every single day when he had a choice to do better and didn't. It's fitting that he'll be buried with the ashes of his reputation and career. And the same fate awaits all the other moral compromisers who know what Trump is, said so at one time, then capitulated anyway. He will not be mourned. Or missed.

I fear, following Graham’s demise that he will be replaced by another Trump, fascist, sycophant who will weaken NATO, and continue Graham’s toadying to the man representing the greatest threat the country has yet experienced. It’s nothing short of amazing (an over-used word) that Trump holds such sway over so many, yet he does and Graham was one of those who was key in Trump’s hold over the American people. Good riddance!

His sister is going to fill out his term. What qualifications she has to do that befuddles me.

Thank you, Steve, for honoring your commitments to be honest and direct. I count on this every single day. Today is no exception.

I love how brave Steve is. He's not afraid to speak out and tell the truth. I count on it every day as well.

Cheeto and Nazi Republicans Are Traitors To America

In essence a traitor is a person(s) who commits actions which involves attempting to overthrow one's own government(Project 2025. election interference, and SCOTUS with explicit intent to turn our democratic republic of WE the People into a dictatorship), aiding an enemy(Russia), or leaking vital state secrets(Supplemental Act of the NDAA{National Defense Authorization Act} would share state secrets with Israel).

For example, in U.S. law, treason is explicitly defined in Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution as levying war against the United States(inciting a domestic civil war to turn the country into a dictatorship), or adhering to its enemies(Russia). Cheeto and his Nazi Republicans are working to destroy the democratic republic and align with our long established enemy. Calling it out as it is.

So WE ask the question, “Why would one vote for a group of people who are traitors to the country that WE the People have established?” The next two election cycles WE the People can either support traitors or those who will uphold the moral principles and ideals of our country. The choice is in our hands.

I suppose if Graham did one thing right, it was ridding himself quickly. Like the Republican Party itself, he joins history’s legions that deserve an unmarked grave.

Brilliant analogy to heroin! Most of us will only remember him for all of what you have said in this post. No tears for him.

Graham's arc is opposite that of the senators who, in 1974, walked to Congress and informed Nixon that it was over. I clearly remember the suddeness of it all and the great relief that followed. The world could have been spared the last year and a half had a handful of senators done the the same 2O21. Republicans and the Supreme Court will be judged harshly. If the Dems want to revive their brand, they had better get busy when the House changes.

One of those senators was Barry Goldwater. His arc was opposite that of Graham's and I don't recall post-mortem recrimination on his many early transgressions, quite the opposite. McCain would not be pleased.

Lindsey was a phony

Yes, speak the truth about Lindsey Graham. It might prevent us from harming our country in his name.

No matter if people choose to remember only the good about Lindsey Graham, it does not diminish the evil that was done with his help. When he said, in praise of Trump, that we ran out bombs and that didn't even happen in WWII, my disgust with him increased; though he is dead, he was a dishonorable human being and death does not change that.

Aside from the content of this piece, Steve Schmidt is an excellent rhetorician. He is an unstifled writer and speqke. Amazing that he put this piece together overnight, not a lot of time to compose, draft, rewrite. It's as if he's been in public-speaking since high-school. It's good to such great talent free from the clutches of an editor.

He betrayed his faithful friend John McCain. Desecrated this hero soldier by kissing up to Trump. Disgusting excuse for a human being.

7/13/26 Go Blue Poem

A truthful eulogy of Lindsey Graham

Why is the corrupt media still talking about Lindsey

He served an intolerable master, not his country

He deserted the nation during one of its darkest hours

He watched the January 6th attack on Congress in horror

But changed his political history by being blind

History will remember Lindsey and it won't be kind

A politician takes the oath of office to the Constitution

Not to a corrupt master and his message of pollution

Electing representatives who have no moral fortitude

Is the reason for our discontent and a nation's bad attitude

Lindsey is a sad story of a Senator who dishonored his calling

The misrepresentation of the January 6th attack was appalling

An honorable nation honors its brave servants

It doesn't overlook disgrace by using strong detergents

The country our founders built was upon truth

A strong foundation now crumbling under spoof

A comedy of Republican errors is not funny

A nation deep in debt from tax breaks for the rich, is the irony

I am deeply sorry for the family of Lindsey

It is their loss, but not for the country

He started his career with so much promise

Only to bring the nation shame by being dishonest

I pray his Creator's judgment is not too brutal

But to say a prayer for Lindsey would be futile

I hope they will bury in his grave the nation's sorrows

Not for his loss but the damage caused by his laurels

An American tragedy is sad a counter-balance. It is the sad weight in our history. Thankfully, it is countered by 1 man or woman who brings honor to the country.

Pass on the message and leave the hate behind.
