Arizonans only need to remember what happened to their Congresswoman Gabby Giffords when they contemplate the recklessly violent statement by Kari Lake “Strap on a Glock.”

You would think. But not the case. Lake lost the election for Governor. Should that have been enough to be done with her? No, here she is again. A sign of an ill society, and I did an internship many years ago at a psychiatric hospital in New Jersey. I recognize much now in what I saw then.

We focus on Kari Lake, as we should, but what about the people who have elevated her to where she is — potentially a United States Senator?

This is the elephant in the room, and frankly, it is a sign of a very ill society that elevates someone like her.

Lake is part of a larger nefarious pathology taking place in the GQP today.

Barr today, and Sununu last weekend have endorsed Trump, even after both called the guy unfit for office and responsible for the insurrection. Apparently, a moderate democrat is still too much for these charlatans to bear.

Additionally, they fear that the party will die if Trump doesn’t win and fear Democratic power for decades to come.

This isn’t about the culture wars, since democrats don’t control many of the state governorship’s or legislatures. This idea that somehow it’s the Democratic Party that controls educational institutions where the wokeness supposedly exists, is ludicrous.

They are private institutions; so much for individual rights and small government. These rights only exist in proportion to how republicans believe they can control our lives through prayer and religious laws.

Additionally, many of the traitors who have fell in line, feel Trump won’t be able to implement the most heinous of his policy agenda; although, Barr definitely wants to implement a Christian version of Sharia Law on this country, and realizes a Trump presidency will insure such an outcome.

Lake is like Trump, just the logical outcome of a malignant tumor that has been growing throughout the Republican Party since Reagan.

And now the choice for the RINO’s in the GQP is to get on board, treat the disease with Band-aids, and hope for the best. The interests of this country and the survival of our republic, be damned.

Just remember, there were rich Jews, smart politicians, and wealthy industrialists from throughout the world that supported Hitler. They too posited that Hitler would never be able to implement his worst inclinations; and the rest is history…:)

Did Barr actually utter the words, "I'll vote for Trump"? I only saw clips where he said he would support the Republican ticket. Nuanced perhaps, but allows him wiggle room maybe? And agree a lot of it is down ballot candidates that they are mostly concerned with. I was heading out the door earlier and didn't have much time. I'll circle back for more complete coverage. I did hear him say in the same interview that with TFG, "you're playing Russian Roullet" but with Biden "it's national suicide". How TF do these guys sleep at night. Meds and no conscience or morals, I suppose.

It's just surreal to replay his January 6th testimony, watch him say, "another TFG presidency would be a horror show" and "he's completely unfit for office", and then now imply or outright say, "sure I'd support the ticket (or him), etc." Of course, this was the guy who completely, not partially, but completely fabricated the Muller report in his public summation to only subsequently outright lie about what he said. So, end of day, he's a liar, just like TFG and all the rest of the MAGA/GQP idiots. What's next? After saying "2020 was the most secure election in history" Barr will come out and say it was stolen. Ugh.

I mean, the cognitive dissonance with these shills is off the charts.

Barr endorsed Trump too?! Omg. I'm in shock. I thought he was speaking out against him. Wtf happened?!! Lord have mercy.

What happened is reality set in. They realize they’re on a sinking ship, and now their only solution is to bail out the boat, instead of replacing the captain, who sent them straight into an oncoming iceberg.

They’re thinking about down ballot politicians who could lose office if Trump loses. It was only a matter of time before we started to see the these charlatans fall in line….:)

The 180 degree turn from Barr and Sununu does make one wonder how much money is involved for them to come on right wing media and say this. Of course, how they actually vote could and likely will be completely different. They're nothing less than accomplices to ruining democracy.

What happened? All these old, life timers, really RED Republicans who were comatose, have come back to life and want recognition and power! They are homesick for the old days of Reagan and Bush, Sr. They are not part of this Trump bunch of MAGA/GOPers! YET! But, party will ALWAYS be ahead of country, and they are trying it out for size! Trump needs every vote he can muster! These White guys are available and flattering themselves with importance. Will cast their votes, and some will do so in silence! Put your seatbelt on!

The Bible teaches what the full armor of God comprises so we can see if the Trumpists can aspire to wear it.

From Ephesians 6 in the NIV ( With paragraph breaks inserted to highlight the elements of the armor)

13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then,

with the belt of truth buckled around your waist,

with the breastplate of righteousness in place,

15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

17 Take the helmet of salvation and

the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. “

So, truth , righteousness (NOT self- righteousness), (Jesus’s) Gospel of peace, faith, (assurance of) salvation, and the Word of God- the sword of the (Holy) Spirit. Hmmm.

No wonder Lake assesses she and the Trumpists will have only a weak version of this armor, if any), and will need those Glocks.

It is blasphemy to claim you are entitled to the armor of God when you life evinces little of its elements.

The radical MAGA Congress members are no more than a collective representation of the type of appeasement that the naive and foolish British prime minister Neville Chamberlain attempted with Adolf Hitler. We all know how that turned out. The MAGAs like to talk tough, but when you examine them closely, they are nothing but isolationist gas bags foolishly hurdling us towards a world war. They are fools, stupid fools that are so, so dangerous. I don’t know if Christian nationalist Speaker Mike Johnson has had a “come to Jesus moment” or not (ironic, right?), but maybe he has. Maybe he finally realizes how high the stakes are with Ukraine. Maybe he’s betting on the GOP out voting the MAGA radicals or the Democrats saving his speakership. Who knows what he’s thinking, but his moment in history has come, and his true character is about to be revealed. We shall soon see what kind of man Mike Johnson really is.

Kari Lake is definitely near the top of Trump’s list for VP! If she is not doing well in the AZ Senate R campaign, Trump will pull her and select her! Also, keep an eye on JP Vance, OH-R who is so politically ambitious that it cannot be measured! He REALLY wants to be selected and top runner for Trump’s Veep. Also, Trump desires to win everything in and about Ohio! My third VP candidate is Kellyanne! Trump “trusts” her and she is his alternative candidate! KA is an attorney, chair of his campaign “the last” time, a female, and D.C. savvy! She is like a Trump glow worm! Available night or day, here or there, and ready to grab any and all scenes! Trump knows Conway very well, she never fails him, and loyal to the core. Full-service woman! LOYALTY-big time! (Plus, George is gone!)

"And with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace."

How is "strap on your Glock" consistent with the gospel of peace and the armor of God? I fear that the gospel verse "Live by the sword, die by the sword" (Matthew 26:52) will be self-fulfilling but the ones delivering the blow will be from their own ranks.

Steve, hi thanks for sharing Claire’s work. Why are people like MTG so obsessed with Ukraine and destroying a fledging Democracy? Why won’t they help defend Ukraine. What is their motive? Why are all of these republican members of Congress going to work for Putin, a murderer, they’re like Putin’s lobbyists. Why are they tearing down the post-world war 2 world that America has created that has given us and the world more peace, freedom and prosperity than ever before. I don’t get it. Why would an American President or any member of Congress want to destroy NATO the strongest military defense organization in the history of the world that also protects America. The media needs to wake up and shine more light on all of this! MGT and her ilk should be asked these questions every day by the media.

Hollywood stereotyping of China and its people has poisoned the mind of America. I think most people would know that China is thousands of years old, but HOW old, and when did they first have an advanced civilization? Only a few, if anyone in the USA asks their friends this question: how much do you know about China except that politicians say we "have a big problem" with China?

How many Americans do we know who can tell you not just how old China is, but, how important they were thousands of years ago, and still are, as a philosophical base of wisdom? They are far ahead of the West in philosophy about human existence.

So, if everyone would not mind, I will pass this on (right out of asking Google): China existed as a discrete politico-cultural unit with more than 4,000 years of recorded history on their soil, (The USA has 250+ years). China is one of the few existing countries that also flourished economically and culturally in the earliest stages of world civilization, 4,000 years ago (and it is still flourishing)..

Once we americans really sit up and appreciate that expository paragraph., then when politicians say "we have a big problem with China" we will be able to put that monotonously repeated phrase into historical perespective.
