Now, it must be mentioned that the self-evident perfection of the nickname erodes any possibility of a vanity developing on my part around my sense of originality. I do not repent of my guiltiest pleasure, which is my recurring, but only slightly occasional, fantasy about being at the MAGA table where the nicknames are laid. I’m awake in California at 4am and just finished reading this great article by Steve Schmidt. It is a brilliant description of so many things wrong with this gross being. As an Italian American - how much more embarrassment must I be subjected to endure? First it was Giuliani and now DeSantis. From greaseball to meatball it is an utter disgrace on my heritage.

Food plays a huge role in campaigns, no? Whether it’s eating a Philly Cheesesteak, a slice of NYC pizza or Chicago deep dish, candidates are obliged to sit & eat iconic regional foods. OMG, did someone eat pizza with a knife & fork? Does Obama prefer dijon mustard? See! He’s an elitist! Food is the great equalizer - we’ve all got to eat, right? Every time Ron has to take a bite somewhere, the image of him eating pudding with his fingers will spring to everyone’s mind.

I think Sarah Longwell wanted the Focus Group pod to be free as well. They show up weeks later on their YouTube channel. The Bulwark is the best news deal anywhere. The amount of content they put out is amazing and always great (Cathy Young, born in Russia, and a serious investigative and analysis reporter is my go to about the Ukr war). Anyway their website with all the articles, and links is free as far as I know. Newsletters and monthly zoom are subscription.
But they came out of the gate with editors and writers and fundraisers already on board. The minute their old publication closed (weekly standard? I think?) they hit the ground running, trying to save the R party.
