People like Katie Britt and Marsha Blackburn have advocated for a Male Patriarchy. But I never reckoned it would be accomplished by a group of Incels working for a guy from South Africa.
Thank you Steve, for being a tireless advocate for Democracy and for showing us the power of the freedom of speech. I have deeply appreciated your voice of warning, and now, how you are turning your voice to not only explaining our peril, and warning of our peril, but how to begin to remedy the peril we are in.
Trump Posted 14 Times About His Daytona 500 Trip, Nothing About Multi-State Flooding
An indifferent Trump was chauffeured around the racetrack as Kentucky mourned 8 deaths including a mom and her 7 year old child....this is what he is and he will destroy america....unless ! !
Our foreign policy lacks adult leadership. The world is dumbfounded by your dummies going abroad. At least our leaders are not yet shooting our citizens, but they will crack skulls and shoot us. We need to be ready for that fork in the road. https://bit.ly/4b5wkL4
I keep thinking quite a bit about Orwell lately. How spot on was he? He 100% nailed humans proclivity to swerve into the depths of the darkest of the dark places.
I think about “ Animal farm “ and how the animals were initially so democratic, so self-governing. They even had a constitution ( The commandments ):
1. Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy
2. Whatever goes upon four legs or has wings is-a
friend
3. No animal shall wear clothes
4. No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets
5. No animal shall drink alcohol
6. No animal shall kill another animal
7. All animals are equal
And, of course they changed it ( the pigs ) when they amassed unrestrained power. #7 All animals are equal. Then they added - some are just more equal than others.
So, as American citizens will we go the way of Animal farm or hold true to our founding? We can disagree on tax policy, foreign policy, social issues and the like. What we cannot disagree on and hope to survive as a nation is our ideals of freedom, liberty and justice. For everyone equally. That’s non negotiable.
Whenever I hear it stated that Trump won the support of 49.8 of us, I object. He won 49.8% of the votes. I assume that all the people who didn't vote are not Trump supporters (although some may be) such that it would be appropriate to presume he has much less support than 49.8 of the population.
Co-President Elon Musk was elected by no one. Trump was elected by 49.9% of the American people who voted. 36.1% of eligible voters did not vote. Trump was therefore not elected “by the people” but by only 31.8% of Americans eligible voters. More than two thirds of voting eligible citizens (69.2%) obviously did not think Trump would “save” America. I wonder how many of the minority of Americans who voted for Trump did so because they thought Trump would “save” America. Putting aside the fact there is no way any of us could know what God thought.
I wonder if there is a way for the American people to show Trump, Musk, and,Vance how we feel about their betrayal of our allies, and of our nations values by raising money to help the Ukranians and other oppressed groups who are being threatened by the MAGA seditionists. That would be a food cause for the Bill Gates' of the world.
“………..I recognized my kinship with all living beings, and I made up my mind that I was not one bit better than the meanest on earth. I said then, and I say now, that while there is a lower class, I am in it, and while there is a criminal element I am of it, and while there is a soul in prison, I am not free……."
Imagine having workers decide their working conditions, tools, hours, etc. Can you imagine if a POTUS wanted to increase union membership. Geez, what a commie right?
That “ commie “ would be Ike. Dwight D Eisenhower said, and I’m paraphrasing here, "……..that people negotiate when they buy a car, or when they have work done on their homes. Why shouldn’t they be able to do that with their employer? Increasing union membership will only make our economy stronger…."
I think he wrote “he who” is saving the country is breaking no laws. Hmm, that’s open to interpretation as to who is “he” and whom is trying to save the country
Exactly. To me, they sound less like the words of a dictator and more like the words of a John Wilkes Booth or a Gavrilo Princip. They that sow the wind shall reap the whirlwind.

SMH, so true.

You can actually read this tweet two ways.
The second way ---> he would save the country if he did not break any law.
(I could sure get behind that thought!!)
Or what Eugene Debs said so long ago…..
“………..I recognized my kinship with all living beings, and I made up my mind that I was not one bit better than the meanest on earth. I said then, and I say now, that while there is a lower class, I am in it, and while there is a criminal element I am of it, and while there is a soul in prison, I am not free……."
Eugene Debs sure got a raw deal, didn't he? Another shameful moment in our past.
Agreed.

So accurate and so well said !
