The House Republican circus
PLUS: Adam Frisch on defeating Lauren Boebert, US involvement in Israel & Ukraine
The House Republican circus will reconvene this week for the purposes of voting on whether the spectacularly unfit, dishonest and demagogic Jim Jordan should become speaker of the House and second in the presidential line of succession.
There are 14 Republican members of Congress currently representing districts that Joe Biden carried. A vote for the loony Jordan will be their political death sentence, and explains perfectly why Jordan will not reach the 218 vote threshold.
The House of Representatives is completely unable to function because of the dysfunction of the Republican Party and the accumulation of a critical mass of weirdos, demagogues, conspiracy nuts and extremists who have paralyzed it. The simple truth is that the Republican conference as a group of 222 may be the most dysfunctional and disordered community of that size not counting people incarcerated in prisons or asylums. Truly. As a team, what tasks could the 222-strong Republican majority perform? What complex task could they navigate? What crisis could they manage? Collectively, they couldn’t run a coffee stand — let alone the United States Congress. Together, they are a menagerie of strangeness that can be fairly compared to the creature cantina where America met Han Solo.
I wrote this a few months back about a man named Sam. It seems appropriate to share again before the disgrace begins anew:
Let’s be clear about something else. This dysfunction isn’t just unseemly and stupid. It is dangerous. Very dangerous. It is unacceptable, and the American people should not tolerate it. There has never been a congressional majority in American history more collectively unfit, disorganized and utterly incapable of serving the public. Calling it a clown show doesn’t begin to describe it.
Vote them out of power.
Adam Frisch on defeating Lauren Boebert; US involvement in Israel & Ukraine
This week on The Warning podcast, I spoke with Adam Frisch, who was narrowly defeated by Lauren Boebert in a bid for the House seat in Colorado's 3rd district in 2022, and who is running against her again in 2024. Frish, a former member of the Aspen City Council, talks about what he learned from his first experience running against Boebert and the importance of defeating her in the upcoming election. We discuss the dangerous rhetoric that Boebert espouses, and why she represents an extremism in the United States that shouldn't be tolerated in everyday life, let alone the House of Representatives. We also dive into foreign policy and what America's role should be in both Ukraine and Israel, and how to fight back against the evil of Russia and Hamas.
Please consider donating to Adam’s campaign to defeat Lauren Boebert. You can do so here.
Thank you for reminding us what Congress can look like. The Rayburn Building is a fitting memorial to the man
Now on to this week’s latest installment of Real MAGAs of Capitol Hill. I hope you are correct Jordan cannot reach the magic 217 seeing the threading Hannity email sent yesterday and rumors Armed Services Rs is united against Jordan, I am hopeful he will not be elected
We have a budget to pass and a two front war. Much work without the House Reality show. Can we please let the adults lead?
In all fairness, Trump did have an Infrastructure Month, every year of his presidency. Trump was usually golfing at one of his resorts at the time, and the country spoke of everything, except Infrastructure.
So give credit, where credit is due! After all, Trump did build 52 miles of the great beautiful wall that Mexico paid for, so there’s that!
As for the three ring circus, the only viable solution is for six to ten members of the problem solver’s caucus to switch party affiliation’s (independent), and caucus with democrats. The Republican Party is DOA!
