In response to the feedback about audience preferences -- be it written, video or audio -- we have found a solution! We're able to provide a transcript for all video/audio recordings moving forward. When I post a video commentary, I will include a transcript along with it.

Here is the one for today's video commentary, which you should be able to access by clicking on the link below:

And, for those who prefer my writing only, expect an essay in your inbox tomorrow morning :-)

Have a great weekend!

This is great to have both options. I can read a lot faster than I can listen so, it's nice to have the option. Always like to listen to Steve but, sometimes, not enough time. Thanks for providing both formats.

Steve, I felt this was your best video ever! I appreciate your mention of the endangerment of children by the madness going on, and so much else. I see you're up to 153,000 subscribers on youtube already -wow! Your presence along with what you have to say is so powerful. I appreciate both your written essays and the videos very much, but the YouTube videos are catching like fire and that is what we need: to save our Democracy! Thank you, always! Lisa

written word vs. video please!

more impact, understanding and retention of issues is better

you write well.... do more... video recording seems easy

it is not.

I was coming to request that as well. I don't watch podcasts or videos. I read.

Happy to hear you found a solution for so many preferences being how hard it is to please everyone. Thank you.

It would be great to have both-- video and a written transcript. Subscribers may have different preferences....

Like you, i'm more of a "written word" guy.

E.g., yesterday, i spent 90 minutes editing / clarifying the only transcript i could find of the astonishing 140-minute bipartisan Congressional sub-committee hearing on UFOs (held on Wed. July 26) with key witnesses Lt. Ryan Graves, Ret. Cmdr. David Fravor, and former military intel guy Dave Grusch.

Oh great, Steve--thank you for providing that transcript! 🙏✨😊

I now have a nearly 800-page MS Word file filled with your The Warning columns. So transcripts allow me to save text and later do searches, as needed, on certain names and keywords.

The biggest quagmire of all: WHY do so many people support Trump? Who would want to support a pathological liar and grifter? Hillary was right, - “deplorables” make up his cult. Where are the democrats insisting to investigate Kushner’s dealings with the Saudi’s...which dwarfs Hunter Biden’s allegations; there’s NOTHING on that?! I love the fact that there exists a new “Trump employee #4” who is standing with “truth” instead of Trump, in Jack Smith’s investigation into the Mar a Lago docs case. My belief though is that Trump is using his candidacy as a “get-out-of-jail-fee” card so that when he’s found guilty, he’ll agree to withdraw his candidacy in exchange for having to serve time. He shouldn’t be let off that easy if that’s the case. The courts MUST treat him like any other American who has committed such a litany of crimes. Justice must be served.

So many of them only trust what they read in their Facebook feeds and on Reddit. The wilder the conspiracy theory against Dems, the more they believe it. It goes beyond “Dems are socialists.” They truly believe Dems are Satan worshipping pedophiles who traffic and eat children. Years of brainwashing by their ministers and RW pundits has led to this, fed and fueled by a GOP who know its policies won’t win them seats. Which is why this problem goes beyond Trump. We will be defending democracy for a generation or more.

Those who know better yet still support this lunacy believe that no matter what. The craziest Repub is still better than any Dem. It’s sick and tragic.

Absolutely NO DEALS with Trump!

No "house arrest" (which I've read could be a consideration)! If the Justice Dept can't find any prison where they believe Trump would be safe, then I support building one just for him! He MUST NOT have any access to social media or any media. That's the only way to remove his destructive influence on America!

I agree that the Trump Crime Family was "at the feeding trough" while in the White House, and that Trump decided he could profit from the various classified documents. The 2 Billion dollars given to Jared, who had NO experience investing, was definitely suspicious!

On another note, I guess I'm the only one who always listens (as opposed to reading them) to your comments. That my preference, that's why I love podcasts, because I can listen while I drive, cook, clean the house or go for a walk. I also believe it makes sharing easier. From my experience, I believe the majority of people will watch a video before they will read a long commentary.

If any guy especially one of color were to even say let alone publish slurs even threats against the defense attorneys off to jail in handcuffs they’d go.

And the Dems! What egregious issues wrought by Republicans do they point out especially to support their (actually it used to be said ‘our’) president do the Dems even have his back? Crow about his successes? My days as a Dem may be over.

No one is above the law? Are you kidding me? Along with the Supreme Court it seems many believe they are and get away with it.

I agree with every word in your commentary about Trump and his klan of grifters. I have asked myself the very questions you brought up and came to the exact same view as you and many others have. It is time for DOJ to do their job and start holding the Trump crime family accountable.

Am increasingly concerned about parallels between MAGGOT folks and Germany in the early 1930’s. Industrialists, media moguls, millionaire/billionaire support for Hitler. Have said this is most important election in lifetime the past few cycles. The coming election is for the soul of America, the country we grew up in and love. We can’t let them destroy it!

Expand full comment

I see the next 2 elections as the fight for reality - those who write it and those who have to abide by it.

I remember checking with my senses early on in trump's occupation of the Oval Office and what they were spewing to see if I was missing something in how they were exclaiming reality to be. trump said not to believe our own eyes and ears. It was disconcerting that so many gave over their own observations to believe the picture they were told and not what they saw. It's still disconcerting but I don't question my sanity. But I understand in an experiential way how Hitler rose to power.

It’s a heckuva note isn’t it, when a person’s primary incentive (besides grifting) for running for president is so he can make federal charges “go away” and thus stay out of prison? That’s what tRump is doing, right here, right now in America, and a significant portion of Americans either don’t care or are too stupid to see tRump’s criminal behavior. And you’re right Steve, many Americans are either totally blind, apathetic, or mindless to see how much tRump, his minions, and his family grifted and stole from us while tRump was president. This former president is, and wants again to be, our KEO. That is, our Keptocrat Executive Officer. We associate kleptocracy with third world countries, but no government, including ours, is immune from it if the country’s leadership is corrupt, dishonest, and void of ethics- like a government lead by a criminal like tRump. There is no telling how much tRump thought he could monetize the classified government documents (that belong to the government and thus the American people) that he’s stolen, but I’m willing to bet he thinks they’re worth plenty. But, the clues as to how he was going to operate as president were there from early in his administration when he effectively neutered the government’s ethics office and started circumventing (and ultimately firing) various inspectors general. This criminal named Donald J Trump has been hiding in plain sight for a long time, but too many Americans have turned a blind eye to it and bought into his lies and bullshit (which I’ll give tRump credit for, it’s the only thing he’s good at). Our only hope is that he can be prosecuted and convicted before the 2024 election, something I’m increasingly concerned will happen. I hope I’m wrong and he’ll get the orange jump suit he’s so richly deserved for a long time to go with his orange “tan”. But, I’m very worried about it. Our democracy is now under its greatest assault since the Civil War. All Americans need to sound the alarm!!!

Donald Trump is who he is, but he would not be where he is if not for his most rabid cultish, supporters. These people, who, in many instances are our parents, cousins, brothers-in-law, friends, etc deserve our rejection, our condemnation, and contempt. Why do we pretend that this bad man who sits at the top of this horrible conglomeration, somehow sits there without the support of people who we know, and who, in many instances we are related to? This crisis will never pass until good and decent Americans reject and cut off those we know who still support this evil man. They are the problem and it’s time we treat them as what they are: traitors to our country.

I had a thought when you were discussing Jared Kuschner's $2 billion deal with the Saudis. Gas prices are suddenly increasing and I wonder if the underpinnings of that are to aid Trump's 2024 campaign. We should be hearing shortly that only HE can bring down the prices.

Why has this person / people in some cases not been removed from the equation permanently? We have been attacked from within..An act of war in my view and we have done nary enough to hit back..and discourage a repeat attempt..

I think of the process required of the “average” citizen applying for a security clearance. How are so many of our elected officials still able to have access to the sensitive information of our country? WTH has happened to the check and balance process? You or I would be unable to gain access, which clearly means we have, not just the former president operating above the law, but the majority of the Republican Party.

Donald J. Trump is hell bent on destroying this world as we know it. He is not going down with the ship and doesn’t give a damn about any one but himself. Once the world is destroyed, what will he rule? If his cult members do not get ‘some fat on their heads’ we are doomed! Wise up everyone your life is in his hands if you continue to support and vote/defend him!.

We cannot and should not blame or disrespect the MAGAs. They are not to blame. There has and will always be people who follow Charlatans. Our efforts to keep the percentage small was through education, and is one of the reasons public education is so vilified by the GOP. Blame is to be placed on our Elected Representatives , The Supreme Court and Big Media. All of them have replaced truth and democracy with greed and power. There are few pockets of integrity and principle remaining. Trump and his minions are just the most extreme and dangerous, but still cut from the same cloth.

I agree with you to some degree, but personally, it's tough. Your stance is more emotionally mature than mine. The MAGA folks are the engine that keeps the Trump train rolling. Without them he wouldn't exist. Their sheer ignorance and delusion deserves ridicule at this point. We have gone too far and this clown show has gone on far too long. There are definitely good people peppered into Trump's base, but the majority of them are fueled by racism, bigotry, ignorance, provincial thinking, etc. I was at a grocery store yesterday and there was a van parked outside selling "Fuck Joe Biden" flags and other merchandise. The MAGA folks are exhausting and embarrassing. And they are everywhere.
