He was clearly a treasure. So sorry he is gone. They die too soon. They absorb all the love we have to give and gladly return it a hundred fold. You were lucky to have had him.😊
Loving a dog is brave because opening the heart that wide, knowing you will outlive your best boy demands a giant heart. Loss is the price for love, and it is cruel in its pain. God bless dogs, they pay back the love every day. Teddy made you better. He lives on,
My sympathies Steve, Teddy will truly be missed. My last dog was named Sevyn, he was a pit/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. He was awesome. I too had to put him down at seven years. He died way too young. Now I have Chloe; a boxer/Ridgdeback mix. She’s six and doing great.
I personally love animals of all kinds; people, not so much. Honor Teddy by finding a new dog to raise, love and nourish…:)
We also had a Teddy but he was only 14 pounds of love and bravado. He comforted me through the loss of my son, nursed my husband through his cancer treatments & impacted everyone around him. Thank you for sharing your Teddy with your readers.
I retired in 2015, and my little shadow, Daisy was my constant companion, from the moment I woke up till I went to bed with her at my bed side in her own bed that she loved. This November it will be two years since I lost my best friend. She lived to 16. I never realized how much of a void a twelve pound dog could leave in your heart. I’m so sorry for the loss of your precious pup! Take care of yourself!
This beautiful tribute to Teddy brought tears to my eyes. It is consoling to know that I am not alone in my own grief – – my beloved, rescued pit-bull mix, Pixie, was recently diagnosed with terminal lymphoma. Steve, I listen to every single stirring talk you record and read every brilliant sentence you write and I thank and salute you for the heroic work you are doing during this frightening season in American political life. You are one of the greatest orators of our age.
The holes they leave behind are never filled, but it is dwarfed by the mountain of joy that we have accumulated and dispersed through our association with them. Pets bring out the best in us. Peace and Godspeed to you and yours.

Our family is heartbroken. What a phenomenal beautiful grandpup Teddy was. Memories of him will stay with us forever.
My heart breaks for your loss.
The Love you shared will always be with you. I'm so sorry for your loss. Teddy touched us all.🙏❤️
It's true that memories of Teddy never do fade away. I am so sad for your loss. Wish I could give you a hug.
Your words about the loss of democracy tear at my soul.
Your words about the loss of your pet tear at my heart.
Peace be with you, friend.
Peace to you and yours, and to your most beautiful Teddy.
Such a beautiful tribute to Teddy. I’m so sorry for your loss.
Oh what a beautiful dog. Losing a dog is losing family. I'm so sorry.
The love is there in every photo.
Now, perhaps with Sophie on his back, he is chasing cloud elk up cloud mountains, his bark the summer thunder we will all hear.
