The joys of air travel. Over the past week, I’ve travelled to four cities. It involved several delayed and cancelled flights. One trip, which should have taken two hours ended up being 12. I’m wiped, and therefore, didn’t have it in me to write for today. I’ll return with an essay for tomorrow.
Since it’s easier for me to do video commentaries than write, this is what I have to offer to you today. In yesterday’s essay, I said that I’d speak about the statement that former Trump Chief of Staff John Kelley issued to CNN this week. Here it is:
And, as Donald Trump continues to threaten violence — this time against General Mark Milley — I reiterate that, like all of Trump’s threats, his words must be taken literally and seriously:
I have only two entities to blame for all of this... the news media (mostly fox and sinclair broadcasting) but network news as well, and social media. I believe the network news just follows the money. It's all about money and power. Frankly, I have little faith that we as a nation will survive this. In my 69 years, I never, ever could have conceived this could happen. Half my family won't speak to me because they are all so completely brainwashed. What a tragedy to befall this once-glorious nation.
Power corrupts. John Kelly needs to admit and apologize for his misguided decisions that have brought us to this precarious ledge from which our democracy will fall. He and every other person who thought by being the adult in the office of the Man-Toddler would be heroes. Aligning with villains is wrong.
