My hope is when all is said and done that people vote for continued stability. We all have enough problems and challenges in our own lives. Worrying about election and post election chaos and violence and all the other crap is not something anyone wants or needs. End the ten year lunacy and vote for sanity, calm, and getting on with our lives.
Interesting to hear David Pakman's take that Republicans will jump ship if Trump loses. That's GOP politicians. Rank-and-file voters don't seem to pay attention to what GOP politicians say. Has Trump's support dropped with increasing numbers of prominent GOP people, including Liz and Dick Cheney, saying they'll vote for Kamala? No. My concern is the likely violence if Trump loses. A significant number of Trump supporters are itching to start a civil war. Read ProPublica's reporting on what the militias are up to.
Harris is entirely too polite when talking to the media. She and Walz need to get tough by calling out Trump as THE LIAR HE IS!
Say he is lying. Say he is a liar. Say it loudly say it with conviction and say it often. The media treats Trump like he’s on even playing field with Harris and Walz. He is not. They need to be called out. They are complicit in the lies by not calling him out. They need to do full, honest reporting, not this timid polite half assed job they’re doing. they need to call a lie a lie. And a liar, a liar.
I agree with Parkman ...when push comes to shove...nobody will want to go to prison for him...they will start to disperse...and ...of course complain for the next four years at their Country Clubs or Luncheonettes...depending on which red state it is...while eating and drinking...their lives won't be affected other than for the better...but they will never admit it!!!
Linda, that was a great video. The song was so easy going and certain of Trump's demise. The background resume, essentially reasons for any fair-minded rational person to vote against him, was very thorough. Who sang the song? He has a perfect voice for the mesage. Thanks for the link.
It was available for use on U-Tube ...thought it was perfect! Thank you...This is what you do when craziness starts to take over...wanted it to be serious but not evil...a little dark humor...if that makes sense.
This was another excellent podcast. My biggest concern is what happens in the 24 hours following Harris being declared the winner. I just do not see Trump suddenly changing and accepting the outcome without sowing more violent chaos. He is already setting up the scenario when he tells them to fight like hell at his campaign rallies. His supporters, many already unhinged, may heed the call from Trump and take to the streets with violence.
Good people, we have to take action! Many people are over-confident that Kamala will win. Polls are inaccurate. In 2016 we were confident Hillary would win, but because 40 million registered Democrats did not vote, Trump won. We cannot be complacent!
We need millions of low-propensity Democrats (a polite term for not motivated to vote), Independents, and undecideds to vote for Kamala. There are also some Republicans who are disgusted with Trump but they don’t want to “become a Democrat” – we need to inform them that voting Blue is in their best interests. WE CANNOT WIN THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE WITHOUT MILLIONS OF THEIR VOTES.
Two wonderful organizations - Galvanize Action - https://www.galvanizeaction.org/ - and One For All - https://oneforallcommittee.org/ -- are expert in crafting campaign messages to motivate people to vote Blue. They reach out to moderate women who admire Kamala but are married to Trumpers – giving them a nudge to follow their own common sense and vote for Kamala. Their messages are tried and true - created by veteran campaign experts, social psychologists, and data scientists, and are constantly tested and refined.
Here is a sampling of "rumors" reported on the FEMA site about its reaction to Hurricane Helene's visit to North Carolina:
Rumor: FEMA distributes aid based on demographic characteristics.
Rumor: FEMA does not have enough money to provide disaster assistance for Helene.
Rumor: Funding for FEMA disaster response was diverted to support international efforts or border related issues.
Rumor: FEMA is asking for cash donations and turning away volunteers.
These "rumors", all pathetically false and easily disproven, attempt to caste a negative light on Harris's malign mismanagement of FEMA. They are used on Fox News as a kind of counter programming to the recent release from the DC Court of Jack Smith's Jan 6 response to the Supreme Court's action on Trump's immunity for criminal charges.
My question is this: during the 2 or 3 days following the Helene's devastation, how often did Fox News repeat these claims, without questioning their accuracy? I would like to see these on an hour by hour basis from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm. It would be useful also to note how many different persons were involved in making these statements.
The constant barrage over a multi-day period of such information, with no hint that their veracity is in doubt, acts like an infectious virus. Its spread can be plotted across the social media and can easily be charted using available statistical processes. Mark Zuckerberg could have them, derived from Facebook posting, son his desk tomorrow if he were to ask for them - quantified graphics documenting the spread of this disease throughout the Facebook populace. That genius/fool Elon Musk could probably produce them himself from X.
Jake Tapper asks almost every Democratic guest on his many shows, how can the presidential contest be almost tied, given the facts surrounding one of the contestants? He seems perplexed, as do many other innocent-acting participants among our news sources. Not one of them notes the exquisite similarity between the news, as seen from Fox, and the twisted view of reality in the Trump cult. No one of them seems to appreciate the effectiveness of their platforms when they are misused. Trump is a symptom, a carrier, not the originator of disease. Fox News is the laboratory of origin.
Things are getting worse by the day. Anyone with a family, which makes all of us, has to be living in dread by this behavior. The worst among us are getting unleashed upon us.

Maybe they can go back to school and try to figure out what they missed in civil discourse.

I certainly hope that you are right
And, Biden is president this time around. He'll shut that shit down in a heartbeat.

I want to give Liz Cheney a shout out for her courage. It is because MAGA will do everything possible to put her life in danger.
