I believe that the wealthy oligarchs are taking over our country, and we are at the point of no return. I have been advocating either a soft secession or an outright secession by the democratic states. Recently, I have been considering a new approach to transform our country in a way that will undo the inherent mistakes resulting from the occurrence of slavery in our country and the fact that we ended up being a country with a major division between the North and the South. The question of slavery was never discussed or resolved at the convention in 1778, but the division was present at that convention and has resulted in our country having two disagreeing parties. We have two warring parties that have been battling since the issue of slavery.
My thinking is, what if there were a way to eliminate both of their parties, no longer a Democratic Party and a Republican Party? Both are gone. There is a way for that to happen. What if our people had a new party, developed, funded, and controlled by us, the people of America? Why do we have two enemy parties? Do you think the people in the South are very different from us in the North? I believe the people in the southern states are like me; they want a peaceful life, a reasonable salary, a secure retirement plan, and to care for all their family members. This I believe. I believe that the majority of those living in the South during the worst times, when the Ku Klux Klan existed, didn't agree with the Klan, but just as we are living with ICE and are afraid to confront them on the street, so did they live like we are living with ICE.
I watched the Alabama football team play in Alabama, cheering for a team where nearly all the players are Black, and yet they were being cheered. When I had a chance to spend time with people I thought were my enemies, I found the truth was just the opposite; they became my friends, and we enjoyed each other's company. In Florida, at a beach under an awning, I spent time with a man from Indiana and Wisconsin, both farmers and wonderful people who talked about things that did not exist in my life, but we were friends. They were good people with good hearts. In Europe, I met Germans, and once I could get past my stereotypes, I found them to be warm, sensitive, young people.
So, if we are all alike, what or who is generating our two-party difference, or just distrusting each other? And ideas? Who makes a living from the existence of this two-party system?
Politicians do! Politicians are the fly in the ointment. They are the ones who will say that a national health service will raise their taxes, even though that is not true. I believe that if I could ask my fellow citizens questions without the politicians, they would answer the same way: no differences, both the same, yes, a national health plan is great, yes, strong unions would be helpful, yes, everyone could go to college free; the person sowing dissent is the politician.
Now, my plan for an American People's Party would be an idea never considered possible until Trump and the invading oligarchs have forced us to rethink our government structure and the existence of two political parties. Please imagine what it would be like to have one party for all people, a party created by the people, developed, controlled, and funded by the people, with no politicians controlling the party. The platform for this party will be created by the people, not by the politicians who are oligarchs' paid extensions. This plan would have a people's platform for all people, administrators chosen by the people, and internal organizations to control the party's future, ensuring the party is safeguarded from being invaded by the wealthy.
I wrote about my new American People's Party yesterday and received suggestions from readers for additions to my party's platform, which I outlined in my piece. Suggestions included 12-year term limits for SC judges, making student loans eligible for bankruptcy, and providing $30,000 for first-time homebuyers, to be repaid when the home is sold. I appreciate that someone is reading what I am writing. We would have input into our party's platform, rather than politicians forming one in secret.
WE have the people of South Carolina to thank for Lindsey Graham. It's part of the nonthinking electorate that supports the fascist Republicans...it's obscene. Red states are responsible for the moral decline of America.

Morality of a society goes beyond political party, power, or money.
What happens to a society that governs itself and it excuses the inexcusable? What happens when the largest sex trafficking in American history is dismissed to protect the guilty? What happens when your Congressional representative allows a person who denies a leader’s electoral victory? And what happens when a society votes for a liar to be the leader of the country? What happens when a group in a society accepts that their leader is immorally fit for office? What happens when the institution that supports the laws decides that morality is not important? And what happens when people decide elections can be bought?
If that is the society WE the People believe WE have then WE are doomed. MSM may not cover the morality of the US but by polling WE are incensed with what OUR country has become. WE can decide and I would submit that outraged Americans expect more from those who expect to lead our country.
WE expect accountability of OUR government or those representing us will be voted out of office. WE will not accept $$$ to buy elections just because it’s expedient. America is at a moral tipping point when OUR decisions go beyond political party. Voting is how WE the People will correct our moral compass. And WE will use OUR sphere of influence to help make OUR course change because that’s not who WE are.
Without the Electoral College the pronounced demarcation of Red and Blue would be lessened (thereby raising the stakes for targeted political maneuvers, like who gets disaster assistance or clean energy), or, perhaps a more pluralistic party system which requires coalition and compromise?

But a word here about Jim Clyburn and the DNC. The primary in South Carolina was moved up because Clyburn wants to improve the chances for Kamala Harris in 2028.
