Anyone else wondering if the movers were there to move him out of the speaker’s suite of offices, as quick as they were to

Move him in after the 15th vote

“Kevin McCarthy is the living embodiment of the warning that John Kennedy issued in his inaugural address: beware of the men who seek power by trying to ride the back of the tiger, for they will wind up inside the tiger.”

Never such profound words. Just ask anyone who has ever worked for Trump, especially his most loyal sycophants and hatchet men.

RIP:

Michael Cohen

Jeff Sessions

Mark Meadows

General John Kelly

John Bolton

Rudy Giuliani

Kenneth Chesebro

Sidney Powell

Sean Spicer

Mike Mulvaney

William Barr

Chris Christie

Kevin McCarthy

And the list goes on, with more to follow...:)

As Rick Wilson wrote: Everything Trump touches dies!"

It is a shame that so many people have lost what littles bit of respect that they had, because of one man!

Could he really be satan, with an orange wig and a fat body suit?

Yes he is, don’t you get it?

How's THIS for a theory: The MAGA/Sedition caucus pushed for the vote to remove McCarthy specifically because they know that they don't have a replacement. They WANT to paralyze government even more than it already is, and a House without a Speaker will not be able to pass any legislation including, just by way of two examples, funding for Ukraine or another continuing resolution. They want to government to fail so that they can justify their opposition to anything that the government does.

That's my biggest fear.... what, or who, comes next?

I know Steve said that the Democrats should do nothing to save Kevin McCarthy...and they didn't. Was that the best thing for America? With no Speaker, or a new one, that's bound to be a full blown MAGA crazy, we are headed for a shutdown, or extreme cuts to get anything passed. I see this as huge problem for all Americans!

Good about Kevin! They seem to be crashing and burning.

Regarding Trump I think all the folks needing security for their safety due to him putting their names out on Social Media and his Revivals should sue Trump for the cost of the security? At this point I think it could be a class action lawsuit? He is just horrible.

McCarthy's fate? He sealed it himself with his pilgrimage to "Merde-a-Lago" only days after 6 January and with his unending, unfailing obsequiousness to tfg.

There are many others in the tfg phalanx of the House with an unfailing obsequiousness to tfg but, unlike McCarthy, they didn't show it by coming in on their knees, looking for both blessing and forgiveness.

Kevin is burnt toast. Nobody wants burnt toast.

The writing was on the wall during that fateful (and painful and demeaning and simpering) 15 round vote, the culmination of which resulted in McCarthy subverting his very personhood for a cold gavel.

Something something bed something lie in it....

Kevin has wanted to be speaker his entire political career. Notice how I say career - he doesn't give two shits about the USA or the populace. He did go and kiss Trump's gigantic ass though, so he has that going for him. Which by the way is the precursor for 'ETTD'

Which he just did today. Go 'F' yourself trying to blame the Dem's for the Government shut down that you couldn't handle due to your inability to herd you clown caucus.

The eight people instrumental in burying Kevin McCarthy today apparently are so protected by gerrymandering that they have NO FEAR of losing their seats no matter what they do unless it’s insulting Donald Trump. That is to say there is NO ACCOUNTABILITY for orchestrating this ring of their three ring circus and no one can do anything about it. Not voters, whose hands are tied. They don’t get to choose their representatives, their representatives choose them. The whole deal is a cruel joke that makes me wonder about folks holding their hands over their hearts and swearing allegiance to the Constitution. Frankly, I don’t think God had any business taking the seventh day off when there was so much left to do and I feel the same way about the Constitution and the quaint, little old misogynistic, slave-owning gentlemen who fashioned it. What else accounts for a completely screwed up Congress that you are stuck with for at least 13 months, nothing to be done about it. It only takes a handful of coo-coos to shut down your government completely and throw millions of people out of work, stifle your military and send your aircraft crashing into one another. Your constitution has led us all down the path to dysfunctional government, not to mention a thoroughly corrupt Supreme Court and who can forget Tommy “the coach Tuberville or the ex-president who wants to execute the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, the whole mess appropriately at the fingertips, for today, of that warm-hearted charmer, Matt Gaetz, who will step in dog poop some day soon and become a piece of history. In the meantime, the House of Representatives has no Speaker for the first time EVER! Is that what’s bothering you, cousin? Well, wait till next week.

Fixing the gerrymandering should be one of the stones to our end game. Enforcing the 14th amendment is another stone - all members of congress involved with Jan 6th need to be purged to send a message or they will try again. Another stone, impeach Clearance Thomas to restore balance and send a message to the other justices FAFO.

Democrats need to realize that more and more republicans are slowly coming to terms democracy can no longer work for them and that they will be forced to accept tyranny or seize power by decree.

It is always warms my heart when an event in the political theatre of these times confirms your prescience and political instincts since the first time I ever heard you speak the truth about Trump on Nicole Wallace’s show MSNBC a few years ago. When I heard the news today I immediately thought of the columns you had written about SINO Kevin. So thankful we have you and your voice informed by experience in The Warning!

This is an actual opportunity for a bipartisan middle to take charge, change the narrative and begin to restart the process of saving the country. It is sad and telling that it cannot be accomplished.

We're dealing with the GOP part of the House here. There's plenty of idiotic ego to go around there. We may be seeing only the beginning of the line of GOP nut jobs to louse up the House.

There will always be men who will try to ride the tiger. I hope the democrats realize what MAGA’s endgame is here and are thinking strategically rather than just about House norms. Hitler was only able to come to power when gov became deadlocked.

McCarthy just wanted the teeshirt at the cost of American governance. He now will have a portrait, and an entry on his Wikipedia page. Me, myself, and I has become the mantra and motivation of the Republican party members.
