Steve, you are 100% right. Totally correct. Nominee Kash Patel and President Donald J Trump are dangerous, those so ignorant and so fearful that they voted for the GOP ticket were simply lost in the confusion of our times. Not all are fascist. Most do not know what fascism is - though they are themselves comfortably fascist. It’s sad. And dangerous. Can we educate the lost souls of our flagging democracy? Steve, time to organize the parties into a Party with what it takes to deal with this mess you describe.

Lead us, Steve. Form up with kindred souls and roll.

These are the times that try men’s souls.

In my opinion, it took nearly two generations to get to this point and it may take, if democracy survives, at least as long to get out from it. Where I live, I can drive ten miles and see palatial homes worth $800,000 or more. Many of them are empty because they are second or third homes! I can drive ten miles in the other direction and see falling apart shacks with rusting steel roofs. There are families living in those shacks. Unless we address this, I do not think we will find a way out.

Bob Marley could have just as easily been singing about America, although his anthem titled 'War' was initially and specifically about parts of Africa. Excerpts:

"Until the philosophy which hold one race

Superior and another inferior

is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned

Everywhere is war, me say war.

That until there are no longer first class

and second class citizens af any nation

Until the color of a man's skin

is of no more significance than the color of his eyes

Me say war.

That until the basic human rights are equally

guaranteed to all, without regard to race

A dis a war.

That until that day

the dream of lasting peace, world citizenship

rule of international morality

will remain in but a fleeting illusion

to be pursued, but never attained

Now everywhere is war, war."

The road to equality is a good education. Learn about what our schools have done to equality at WhiteChalkCrime.com where teacher whistleblowers speak.

Once people realize how corrupt our schools are they’ll know why Trump happened and how we can get out of this mess - run for school boards after learning about what they did to to education. Bottom line: power mongers hijacked our.schools and made teachers perform harmful acts so the public resents them. Great teachers are the path for equality. They also would report the thugs who’ve stolen education; so by making them and the teachers’ unions behave badly the public lost trust. Once you hear us you’ll get exactly what to do.

Joe Biden took Kash Patel very seriously and did the most rational thing he could do, pardon. What was honestly shocking and discouraging was the blow back from the media. Had they not been doing their jobs of listening to what trump has been saying and who he’s appointing? Haven’t they been hearing him for months saying he’s going to pardon the January 6 ers? If all you say is true, and it is about Kash et al, how could such narrow minded thinking have barraged the airwaves yesterday? Amnesia? Anesthesia? Rachel Maddow said it brilliantly and I hope it helped open the media’s minds and hearts. If possible any more.

A great analysis of the Trump toadies selected to burn down the Departments of Health and Human Services, Defense, and Justice! The avian flu is coming and Trump called the last pandemic a HOAX and 1,250,000 Americans died of his HOAX virus including my middle brother and cousin! I worked for the U.S. Department of Defense for 22 years and observed many military members and they were hard-working patriots ready to defend this nation with their lives and do not deserve to be lead by a chronic drunk and serial sexual predator. Finally, we do not need a Gestapo in the USA headed by a Trump sycophant! Trump barely won an election to make the economy better for the folks who work for the pitiful minimum wage of $7.25/hour and his first item of business should be to raise the Federal minimum wage to $20/hour!

The Supreme Court's ruling giving presidents immunity for criminal conduct while in office is not being mentioned enough in the press. The Court opened the door for presidents to choose to become dictators. Biden is the first president to have that power but – being a decent man – has chosen not to exercise it. Trump will be the second president to have that power and surely he can be expected to utilize it and with gusto. (That must have been the intent of those six Supreme Court justices who thought they could rewrite our Constitution.) It might come back in the future to bite them as well as the rest of us. We as a nation have to reach a better understanding of how our Constitution can be properly amended. The Constitution itself offers several ways in which that can be done, but none of those ways involve the Supreme Court. (See Article V.) When you read the Declaration of Independence you will see the passage, "all men are created equal," That can be interpreted as "No man is above the Law." The Supreme Court defied that standard by designating that henceforth our presidents shall be immune to prosecution for crimes committed during their terms of office. The Court went out of bounds. It went into the territory of the Constitution. If the Court tries to establish presidential rule by dictators the People should awaken itself and begin to make the appropriate remedies.

The fact that Kash Patel is an outspoken admirer of Qanon ought to disqualify him for any job, civilian or governmental, that has the potential to hurt the American public. He belongs in a padded cell with all the other seriously sick people who think Qanon makes any sense at all:

"According to posts and social media clips that have resurfaced in the aftermath of Patel’s nomination, the prospective FBI director has frequently lauded QAnon believers and embraced their messaging. The unfounded, pro-Trump conspiracy theory holds that the United States is run by a cabal of Satan-worshipping pedophiles, and that Trump is a messianic figure who will eradicate this evil from the government."https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/kash-patel-defended-qanon-conspiracy-theory-1235189545/

Is he crazy? As Sarah Palin would say, you betcha!"

But then so is RFK: despite incontrovertible evidence, he denies the efficacy of vaccines. Is he crazy, "You betcha!"

And then we have the grossly incompetent and outrageously dangerous nominee for DNI, Tulsi Gabbard: "Tulsi Gabbard, Donald Trump’s pick to lead the intelligence community, was briefly placed on a Transportation Security Administration list that prompts additional security screening before flights after her overseas travel patterns and foreign connections triggered a government algorithm earlier this year, three sources familiar with the matter told CNN."

Steve and members: Substantively, this may not be the most apropos subject on which to offer the following proposal, but then again, all of Trump's evil and fascist plans and actions are symbiotic and inextricably intertwined, so here goes: Biden should announce a blanket, preemptive pardon to all undocumented people in the US, including those already charged with violating Federal immigration law, as well as well as those who would be so charged under Trump's planned mass deportations. Modeled on Jimmy Carter's blanket pardon that applied mostly to those young American men who fled to Canada to escape the military draft for service during and in the Vietnam War, Biden could declare an imminent national emergency based on Trump's threatened mass deportations. He could reason that such an enormous, draconian deportation would impose volcanic economic, public health and safety and kindred, concatenating daily negative impacts on all Americans that would confer unacceptable collateral damage on the nation's way of life. Whether this order would cover any migrants in the country without legal authorization or status but not yet charged with a crime might be more problematic, but not necessarily insuperable. I welcome comments and creative ideas from the group.

The same idea has occurred to me but Dems are not bucking bronco riders, and this is a bucking bronco.

Biden could likely find Constitutional imprimatur for such a blanket, preemptive pardon in the Supreme Court's newly granted immunity for official acts. Clearly, such a move would fall under this rubric.

I would love to see a large and creative use of the pardon power. But I can almost guarantee you that when it is challenged, Clarence Thomas and Sam Alito — those miscreant originalists — will say that pardon does not mean pardon. When I think of the state of things today, we’re a corrupt society ruled by corrupt people, and it is of our own making.

One thing nothing better happen to you ! No crazy bogus arrests or anything else. This is a screaming nightmare. I feel incredibly angry at my neighbors who voted for the shithead. They are happy as larks. Right now it looks like the Republican Senators are going to give the orange one what he wants. We will see how that goes. I see Macron invited him to the reopening of the Notre -Dame Cathedral. Is it common to invite a President elect to something like this ? Maybe someone knows. It has always been the little things that stick in my craw with the f**k head . That he got to meet the Queen a filthy dirty person like him. Kash you horror show. Steve will you, or someone else, please question the vote that took place on November 5. There were no recounts from on the Democratic side. if it was the other way around Trump would’ve been in and out of court for the last month. I’m not saying get as crazy as Trump, but at least question the swing states. Those are the states that Elon Musk went to offering people money and fooling around with algorithms and God knows what else he did. We just sit back and not question any of it? Somebody has to hear me. I feel like I’ve been screaming to the wind. Please anybody on this feed that reads this comment, let me know what you think or if I’m the only crazy one.

Hey Roberta, You’re not the only crazy one. The thought has crossed my mind more than once. Unfortunately, I cannot think of any democrat who would take a hand recount on. That’s one of the problems with the dems… too worried about the ramifications of what others might say or the possibility of casting a spark of negative publicity. Seems to me the dems just eat it. Over and over and over again

Such an important post/video Steve. Thank you, thank you.

You are so spot on, on numerous fronts. While brilliantly commenting on the appalling, dangerous cabinet nominations, you continue to take in the broad landscape. Only real leaders can do that.

Your suggestion that now is the time for us to plan our return to action, when we will help rebuild what will be a devestated country/democracy, feels exactly right to me. We can’t waste our precious energy by getting embroiled in what will be interminable skermishes with the incoming administration.

Long term strategy, that’s what I’m looking for. I am not afraid.

It might take a while for the Trump supporters to feel the pain, and try to believe that the Republic is being saved. They would be difficult to fight, so we have to wait for their conversions (help them feel the pain more quickly to speed it up), and they will be the best fighters in the end. On our side we will need the imagination for a truly good America, the blueprint to replace MAGAt world. There will be deaths. Bird flu is starting to jump species and may become the next pandemic. All of the angry vengeful people, putting marginal people on the streets. At least a big reset. They didn't know enough to have real plan. The genius of Musk will be the law of the jungle. I'm not sure how to prepare. I'll stay tuned Steve - you're pretty sharp. Good luck!
