Thank you, once again, for drowning out the background noise and saying things out loud.

This is a nightmare we are living in. We have been warned. But we didn’t think it was possible.

Le's stop referring to Brave New World, for despite the irony, we have truly entered the cowardly old world --a place where superstition, cruelty and stupidity rule the day.

I had been raised Catholic when I arrived at my Virginia college in 1970. I volunteered to help collect funds for a dorm-mate who needed to go to DC for an abortion (one of the few “safe” options available back then). I understood at age 17 that a woman’s life - and her ability to raise a happy, healthy child - is a fundamental human right. And it is also what’s best for any child who comes into our world. I realized that that could have been me. Finally, It’s a private medical matter between patient and doctor.

I would use this interview as a campaign ad against Noem.

Of course cruelty is the point. I don't see how any dog or animal lover could vote for a ticket she was on.

In 1922 Duce overthrew the king and parliament with aid of ignorant angry young Italians wearing black shirts. By 28 he brought in the monied class with no regs, low taxes and privatization. Then he needed the masses, so make a deal with PiousXI he gets the Vatican as a separate country and looks the other way at dictatorship!

A different order in America, Christian nationalist’s followed by white shirted skin heads followed by certain billionaires who give the 21st century fascists legitimacy.

The likes of the governor, senate, and house sycophants spells the end of the republic they as a minority can only stay in power by using all three of power sources.

If 100s of gop voices were silent even hearing of an armed coupe it is over.

Hearthbreaking, enraging, insane. A US that has turned upside down. WTF!! Thank you Steve, as always for your honest & direct articulation of this soul-shaking reality. We, who believe in compassion, mercy, forgiveness, and love must never surrender to the opposite. We must never bury our heads in the sand, turn away, or be silent! You are a constant reminder to all of us that to do so is appeasement to the pure ego-driven egoistic evil we are facing. We must fight. We must win the fight. Our democratic ideals merit our commitment. And now is the time. NOW is the time to fight. Thank you. Thank you. You are a courageous & compassionate soul. 🙏🏻❤️

Astonishing that we have to deal with such a SAVAGE as she is. Awful story that she appears proud of. It is quite obvious that she is mentally damaged!

What the Court has unleashed is a renewed conflict among women. I have enormous confidence in American women today, the ones who know what a pregnancy means across meanings. About the realities of life. About the feelings of girls. And that in this environment it is women who will stand up for women. Not female politicians who fear to voice their opinions because there are elections in sight, their own. Abortion Rights should remain a privacy right. Separation of Church and State. Great writing. Thank you.

I’m horrified about what’s going to happen in November. It’s like a nightmare where you try to run away from a murderer but can only move in slow motion. Helpless, awful feeling.

Noem is a MONSTER. I dread the thought of what she will do to the Homeless.

These requests from a recent letter to the editor of the Sioux Falls Argus illustrate Governor Noem's Administration in the minds of South Dakotans, even those who will be unwilling to cast a ballot against her re-election.

"This is what I’m hoping for in a candidate for governor.

The candidate will swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

The candidate will commit to serving a full four-year term if elected.

If elected the candidate will choose South Dakotans for staffing, contracts, and consulting.

If elected the candidate will avoid familial conflicts in employment.

If elected the candidate will honor the state’s motto. Under God The People Rule. The candidate will respect and honor the will of the people.

If elected the candidate will respect all citizens regardless of race, creed, color or sexual preferences.

If elected the candidate will promote the state by creating respect among the other 49.

If elected the candidate will utilize education professionals to handle their own affairs and to write their own curriculums.

If elected the candidate will pledge that government will not interfere with any medical discussions and resultant procedures. That will be sacred between the patient and their medical provider.

If elected the candidate will use negotiation and minimize the use of litigation at taxpayer expense.

If elected the candidate will reflect moderate views of neither extreme and will not support a radical agenda."

She is a monster. Thank you for the reveal, saving me from having to read her book, but giving me info about her I will share with everyone I know.

I wish you and your family good news about Teddy. I love dogs with all my heart. They are the most incredible animals on the planet.

On Eclipse Day, we lost our 16 yo Teacup Yorkie/Toy Fox Terrier, deaf and blind. Our daughter rescued him just 27 months ago when he was on an "adoption transport journey" from Texas to Canada by way of Detroit. I have no idea why, at 14, sight failing and deafness closing him off from the world, that a single person would think a journey to Canada for adoption was a sane thing to do for this tiny, fragile old man. I have always seen it as cruel. But thank goodness, he was stranded along with his 60 or so companions at the Detroit/Windsor border, and our daughter went to get him from a Detroit rescue. Her dad and I did not want her to take him back home. He became ours the moment she brought him to visit. So she gave him to us, and visited often.

I have since come to believe, just like you say, he came to teach me something, every single day for the duration of our time together. He made it to our home for his last years, for a reason. All that distance, it was meant to be. He was loved, doted on, fed well and warm. He had a young, big dog brother who misses him dreadfully. And a new mom and dad whose hearts are broken, along with his Detroit Sissy. A neurological event overnight caused his tiny frail legs to be unable to support his weight. We don't know why, the night before he was fine. So we made that agonizing appointment, and released him during the eclipse, telling our vet we hoped he would catch a sunbeam, while hoping that Rainbow Bridge is a real thing and that he gained back his sight, his hearing, his strength and his energy.

And maybe found someone he long ago lost who he himself was missing.

Please keep us up to speed on Teddy. Sending positive energy his direction, and to you.

It is indeed a brave new world, one in which the women and girls are being forced to the front line by gunpoint and the folks who want this to be accepted as normal, are hiding under the circled wagons, praying for some vision of hell.
