Wonder if anyone else is sick of hearing from undecided or Haley focus group people. Don’t know enough about Kamala Harris. Get your head out of your asses! What do you need to know beside she is running to defeat Trump!

Oh may I interject please?! These focus group morons interviewed by an MSNBC politico claim '"I don't know ANYTHING about her!! She was VP for 4 yrs and I don't know what she did. Except didn't fix the border!!" I say....watch a friggin' news program & NOT FOX.!!! Read a magazine article...I don't know what D did except stack the court & gift corps/rich massive tax breaks! sadly, those in itself caused PLENTY of DAMAGE to America....

I also saw that interview on MSBC, and I too wonder where are they getting their info; and then I stop and think, and say, oh right-from FOXTV, Steven Miller,Steve Bannon, the Trump brothers, "Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum", MTG.....!

The "head in the sand" voters, will soon wake, and start pulling their heads out into the fresh air, and wonder who should they vote for? It will be our job, lead by Harris and her VP, to inform these voters! BTW: many of these voters only vote at the General Elections, because the other elections aren't important enough! And, we wonder how Trump became POTUS in 2016?

Educate and Votes; two keys to a Democratic victory in November! Steve, I thank you, for the "educate" part! your voice can educate far more citizens, than anyone of us can! God bless you, and thank you, for your service to America and its people! We are blessed to have you on our side!

I'm impressed with your thoughts....I saw Donnie Deutsch on Morning Joe Show state that instead of.what women did in 2016 AFTER the election....organize & execute a hugh Freedom March BEFORE the election.. I thought that a GREAT idea? Do ya know bigwigs that organize??

Expand full comment

Unfortunately, I personally do not know of any "bigwigs"; but maybe someone who reads these comments, and/or who watched "MJ" today, might! The Woman's March of 2016, started from one woman in Hawaii, emailing her thoughts-miracles do happen! I was a marcher in the 2016 Women's March, in Denver, and it was inspiring! Donnie's idea is spot on! March before, not after the election, in November! Oh, by the way, there were lots of men marching too!

I thought you had connections! 😄....I'm in DC but didn't get to go..it was a sight to behold. It shook Drumpf up....thats why he wants to put a damper on marches! Thanks!

Interesting how the Chump pick was formulated. He wanted the drab rich white Governor from North Dakota because the Botox Governor of South Dakota shot her puppy to death. The few savvy people he has wanted Rubio real bad — made the most sense to them. Then Beavis and Butthead, who have his ear, chimed in and said it has to be Vance. And thus it was done.

I thought that the President & VP couldn't be from the same state-something about the Electoral College votes-so Rubio would not have been a possible pick.

Steve, this was a brilliant dissection of JD Vance.

Correct. But Trump would have likely changed his primary residency to New Jersey.

Did you forget that trump thinks he’s above the law…he’s said FU to all of them why should he accept the “no same state” election rule? I’m sure trump is furious with “his” disastrous pick. Did you see the bored, contemptuous look on his face when Don, Jr. was speaking. It was chilling.

Or, Judge Cannon, and the SC would give "the dictator", a pass, just one time!

Sarah Palin set the low bar for vice presidential candidates, and I could not readily conceive of a worse candidate than her. However, now I agree with Steve, because Vance is smarter and could do much more damage were the maga ticket to be elected. How could any woman, even a committed republican woman vote for this ticket? What is wrong with them?

Expand full comment

Sarah Palin was and is a nutjob but she was also a popular and effective governor. JD Vance is neither popular nor effective. What he is is unlikeable and bizarre, even for a MAGA. And lets all offer a big thank you to Don jr and Eric. Those two dimwits may have, unwittingly, saved our Republic.

Donald the Despicable has forcefully demonstrated that in America, anyone can grow up to be president. In fact, one doesn’t even need to grow up. He’s the ideal model for JD, who has more masks than a Greek tragedy.

I saw a recent picture of Mark Robinson at a rally in Elon, NC. There were as many women holding Robinson signs as there were men. This is the guy who attacks and denigrates women every chance he gets and blames the problems in this country on women. I fail to understand why they would support him.

The Goebbels murdered their six children rather than let them live in a world without Hitler. I think these people are at that point.

It is simple, they are so simple minded to buy the BS of the MAGA cult! How did Jim Jones get people to willingly kill their children first and then commit suicide by drinking cyanide!!!

I’ll tell you, it is easy to get disgusted living in this state. The fact that he is polling closely to Josh Stein disgusts me to no end.

I think Kamala will totally change the voting demographic in NC now.

The under 30 crowd is excited.

I so hope North Carolina comes to its senses. Such an incredibly beautiful state and such wonderful people. It sickens me to think of N.C. as red state. Vote blue in every election and fix your legislature and state officials to end the gerrymandering and other Republican chicanery.

I read somewhere (maybe here) that 40% of Americans believe the earth is 5,000 years old and humans walked with dinosaurs. Reagans' war on education continues and seems to be working.

If he wins here, he wants to jail women seeking abortions across state lines. He will have Republicans controlling the State Legislature, so he may get this through, and he also will have a QAnon Conspiracy Theorist running the state public school system. This is how the end looks.

Speaker Mike Johnson is one of them, as are almost all MAGA leaders and followers. At least that is what they claim. The smarter and less ignorant use the 'old time religion' to control their base; they shit this nonsense out and their fans gobble it up. Vance's patriarchal and misogynist views are rooted in the Old Testament.

Genesis 3:16 ESV / 36

To the woman he said, “I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, but he shall rule over you.”

WHITE women and not just the stupid ones. It’s the jealous ones that resent any woman they view as “showing them up” or “not knowing their place” - I’ve encountered these harpies many, many times throughout my 50 year career. Hopefully they’re dying off. I knew (note past tense) many of them who refused to vote for Hillary for those reasons. Disgusting - but then look at Marjorie Traitor Trash, Nancy Mace, Lauren Boebert, and that horror from Tennessee, Marsha Blackburn, Kari Lake, Kay Ivey - so many of them. But to be fair, I have to mention Candace Owens - a disgrace to her race as well as her gender.

I have to add, as an old English major, the word harpies brought back memories of reading Dante’s Inferno. I want to say fond memories because it was such a great story.

Great video Steve. Hey, they were made for each other. Eff them both. Hopefully enough Americans do the right thing. Or at least enough in the swing states. Neither one of these ass clowns should ever be near the Oval Office. Did I say "eff them both" already? 😉

I am beginning to believe that the moves MAGAcytes make are the simple tools of intimidation and fear-mongering, those and only those. Faced with sudden serious political challenges--Biden's sudden fold and Kamala left to debate left them scattered and spinning. How did they counter? Same ole spite shots, amplified eight-grade machismo slurrings, promises of thuggery, and repetitive lying that is beginning to just elicit annui, yadda yadda yadda. Where they should sensibly articulate some frame of policy, they stomp harder in their goose-stepping and screw their faces down to deeper frowns. There is sunlight beginning to shine in the shade they throw down. The people, made less afraid, seeing them tremble, can suddenly admit to themselves that they have no reason to be made victim of bullying by thugs whose only agenda is shaking their fists.

Just brilliant Steve. So glad you mentioned Chuck Schumer’s (the empty suit) ridiculous funds hold out to Tim Ryan’s Senate campaign. I live in Oregon and my husband and I gave thousands to Tim’s campaign. I have loved Tim since 2017 (and not just because I’m also Irish/Italian) since he used the word canard in describing trump’s hideous tax bill for corporations and the 1%. I’ve begged him to move to Oregon so he can fill Ron Wyden’s Senate seat when he retires. Ohio doesn’t deserve him and so I wish he was also being considered for Vice President. Democrats, get a new leader in the Senate.

Read the article yesterday; just now watched the (really good) video. Came here to advise readers who might not yet have seen it, there's an NBC news article in which JD "doubles down" on his "childless cat ladies" remark with amazing political ineptitude.

www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/jd-vance-doubles-childless-cat-ladies-dig-got-nothing-cats-rcna163857

Read in the context of this substack, the video above absolutely confirms the soundness of Mr. Schmidt's judgement.

Oh, Steve you are so right about JD Vance! Sarah Palin was stupid/stupid, Vance is smart/stupid-he is smart enough to know so much better!

What are these "young" men fed-at church, at school, on social media? Men, like JD Vance have been brainwashed, when it comes to women. They are so scared of women, especially women in any form of power, that they want to squelch women through the mud and the shit! These men are sending America back to the Dark Ages! In their minds, women were made for only one purpose-to breed, and breed, and breed again, until their bodies wear out! And those who don't pop out children year after year, deserve to be in Hell!

Well, JD Vance, I am one of those "cat women" that you talk about-and I say to HELL WITH YOU! Men, have no idea how it feels to want a child so much that it hurts; only to find out from a doctor that it is impossible! Men, have no idea to be probed month after month, trying anything that might help you conceive, only to have yet another period! To see your friends become pregnant, while you're still struggling! To be ask, over and over again: "Why don't you have any children?" And, now I sit with my friends and listen silently, as they talk about their grown up children and their grandchildren, and for some of my friends, great-grandchildren. And, I sit silently, not able to contribute to the conversation, because I am a "cat woman". Even now, as I write this, tears come to my eyes! I, along with millions of women with infertility problems, go through the pain silently, with their partners. And an A-Hole called JD Vance, has the gall to rip those wounds a part, over and over again, and in public; calling women like me, "cat women"! His wife must be sighing a sigh of relief, that she was able to have children! If she was not able to have children, would JD Vance abuse her, knowing that she could not leave an abusive marriage? No, JD Vance, it will be YOU burning in Hell-not the "cat women"!
