Wow, even though I read your every post and have learned so much about how the MAGAs are undermining our democracy, today, listening to the information about Michael Flynn has put me right on the ledge. The idea that the US military has trained and honed this person who now has gone to the dark side with all of his understanding, OMG! The only thing that makes me take a breath is that for every Michael Flynn, there has to be 100 military personnel who have taken their oaths to heart and who stand ready to protect us from Michael Flynn and his band of traitors. Please tell me this is true.

Diane, as a retired Lieutenant Commander (US Navy), I'm letting you know that there are - indeed - military (active and retired) who do take the oaths we've sworn to heart and are diametrically opposed to Mike Flynn (I deliberately don't use his military rank here) and his band of traitors. I'm hoping other military folks will state their positions on this issue here too.

Thank you 😊

Those who knew him on active duty, knew him as a nut who thought he lived in "Apocalypse Now."

On your recommendation, I watched a documentary, possibly Frontline. Do you know how much involvement and influence Gen. Charles Flynn had during J6? For a few months afterward there were strong denials of Charles' culpability, but after seeing the unity of the many Flynn family members in Michael's cause, I find it hard to believe that Charles Flynn had no role in orchestrating delays and putting up roadblocks to enhance the insurgents' odds for success. This may not be a consequential question, but it piqued my curiosity.

The brothers live in a development in Englewood, FL! Not far from some other well known names in Trump’s first administration. Tucker Carson lives 10 minutes away, too.

Almost a β€œlittle” colony down that West Coast of FL, south of Sarasota and Venice.

Kathleen, I saw that Frontline Doc awhile back. Flynn's crazy!

Jim Stewartson has been following Mike Flynn online every day for years. See Stewartson's library of information on Flynn here: https://www.mind-war.com. He says Flynn is behind QAnon and part of the main team behind J6 and that since then--with his ReAwaken America tour and with his current tour promoting his new movie--Flynn has been setting the groundwork for another insurrection . I feel confident that Stewartson knows what he is talking about. He calls Flynn the biggest traitor in American history, and this is likely not hyperbole. Apparently, Mark Robinson is a favorite of Flynn's. I just learned that, but had suspected that for a while. Steve, please keep up the focus on Flynn.

It's amazing that Flynn is not being stopped. I heard a theory somewhere that the military could activate him to duty, and then could court martial him. Any idea if this is true?

Flynn and his actions, beliefs, and treason are beyond the pale and very concerning. He is a very dangerous man, in my opinion. He is also one of a long line of mistakes, imo, we’ve made as a nation dealing with those who betray our government. Lincoln was a great president, but one area I believe he errored on was his β€œlet β€˜em easy” post Civil War policy” towards former senior Confederates like Robert E Lee and Jefferson Davis. To some extent I understand such an approach with former rank and file Confederate soldiers. But Lee, Davis, and other senior Confederates were responsible for the deaths of thousands of Union soldiers! In many other countries treason like that would lead one almost immediately to the gallows or the firing squad. And, those actions going that far back, in my opinion, make actions like Flynn’s seem β€œok” to us. They dull our sensibility to their severity, so we β€œlet it slide”. Flynn is unabashedly preparing to try to overthrow our government and replace our democracy with a religious dictatorship. His actions are not β€œfree speech”. It is the act of a traitor. Where is accountability? Where is the rule of law? Have we forgotten the β€œlast full measure” so many heroic Americans gave us to preserve our democracy that Flynn and his cult followers so flippantly, casually, and callously want to abandon?

Great questions Thomas. I bet they are watching him closely. Sure hope so anyway!! πŸ™πŸ»πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Flynn was respected? He was always an undermining character! Now, he is the star in religious motives to crash democracy, turning the country into a Christian Nationalist theocracy!

Flynn is no longer respectable! He should be in jail for his past actions! Another con man for Trump?

Blaming the Democrats or the system for Flynn's seditious behavior is silly. He has chosen his own path. And regardless of whether he has malice in his heart or not, we should have eyes on him 24/7.

He is only the tip of the iceberg of those preparing for armed warfare on US soil. We are awash in armaments and bad intentions and poor mental health.

If you simply observe his behavior, physically & verbally, a quick view that there is something wrong with this person..He does not behave in a normal manner...Obama even said that he had to watched as he saw things about this man as not quite right, mannerisms and words he used.....The question remains...Why hasn't anything been done about him. He is a constant threat to our democratic way of life!

Once again I am rendered speechless Steve. I knew Mike Flynn was dangerous but I had no idea of the depths of his depravity and what all he was planning going forward.

Thanks, too, for the information re: "Against all Enemies". I just now rented it and intend to watch it. After reading the comment section on your YouTube post I was quite heartened to see many supportive comments from our Vets. Not all have gone to the dark side of MAGA extremism thank God. After 9 years of Trumpism I think I am finally understanding his appeal, especially to men. Your conversation with Mr. Sader (sp?) was especially illuminating in that area.

Thank you Steve for a terrifying but much needed to be heard post!! Welcome home by the way!! Great to have you back safe and sound!!

"How a dedicated public servant and military hero went from respected to destroyed by the Democrat lawfare and power abuse system."

There, fixed the headline.

The Defense Intelligence Agency first warned Flynn in 2014 that his acceptance of foreign money might be a potential violation of Federal law.

Flynn was warned a second time that he might be violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) in relation to his work as a lobbyist for Turkey. The law required Flynn to register with the Department of Justice as a foreign agent and truthfully disclose details of his lobbying work.

Despite the DIA warning not to take foreign money, Flynn still accepted $530,000 to serve as a lobbyist for Turkey. And despite the warning from the Justice Department, Flynn still did not comply with the FARA statute.

There, your post corrected.

My father was an Air Force officer. When combining his active duty, reserve duty, and work for an Air Force contractor, it totaled 38 years. He receives a good pension and he is happy with the medical care from the VA. His copay on any prescription, regardless of price, is only $8.00.

Some officers like him choose a quiet retirement. Some do motivational work and community service. We cannot, as Frank does, make excuses for General Flynn. His path was based on his own choices.

Exactly. You must be very proud of your Father. He sounds like a remarkable man.

It's just like with Trump supporters John. They will excuse his every behavior, no matter how egregious. He told us at the very beginning, "I could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue. ...Remember?! That's when I knew for the very first time we were truly in deep, deep sh@#.

Right... FARA is only used when the Democrats are butt hurt and exploit their government power to destroy their political opposition. Forgot to check a box. Right... crime of the century!

Should have turned into a magical artist and sold his "paintings" to China and gave his Big Guy 10%.

There is no need to make excuses for General Flynn or blame others for his decisions. He reached the highest point in his profession. What drove him to make certain decisions only he knows. The majority of officers of any rank and of all services know their responsibilities during their careers and in retirement. I will note that the pension for a three star officer is $16,500 per month ($198,000 per year). They live good lives in retirement, as they warrant and deserve.
