The state of Arizona has criminally indicted Rudy Giuliani, Former White House Chief of Staff and Chair of the House Freedom Caucus Mark Meadows, Trump campaign adviser Boris Epshteyn and 15 other people for their efforts to subvert democracy and steal a presidential election.
Whenever I think about patting myself on the back for being correct about a prediction, I think about President George Herbert Walker Bush talking about the admonition he received from his mother:
Nobody likes a braggadocio, George.
It’s good advice. But aren’t there exceptions?
For example, if a golfer hits a hole in one, it is okay to talk about it, right? In fact, tradition dictates that the achievement requires the player to buy drinks for all in the club house after the round.
I’ve never hit a hole in one on the links, but I have on Twitter (now X).
I’d like to share a four-year-old piece of advice I offered Team Trump, which includes Meadows and Epshteyn on October 2, 2020.
Suffice it to say, they didn’t listen.
Here it is for the record:
Boris responded, and I to him:
Most days, I write for all of you.
Let’s just say that today is a bit of a guilty pleasure, and Boris, when you read this, don’t worry. I’ll share some more advice before you get shipped off to prison, after a fair trial, of course. Also, I’d like to personally thank you for your role in helping me win a wager of $20. I bet that you would be disbarred and indicted four years ago. I always knew this day would come.
Hole in one!
“The state of Arizona has criminally indicted Rudy Giuliani, Former White House Chief of Staff and Chair of the House Freedom Caucus Mark Meadows, Trump campaign adviser Boris Epshteyn and 15 other people for their efforts to subvert democracy and steal a presidential election.”
This is all great news, and Steve, you definitely deserve your Schadenfreude moment; however, I am still wondering why Trump is only an unindicted co-conspirator?
How is it that Trump continues to get away with murder? Giuliani, Boris and Meadows make a good start, but let’s keep our eyes on the prize.
Trump, whether the mastermind or not, set this entire debacle in motion, yet here we are. Every one will pay the price and Trump skates.
I mean seriously, can’t we at least arrest the guy for cheating at golf?….:)
I think you’re allowed at least a tiny brag over this Mr. Schmidt.
