I like comedy shows, but I think twice before going because of the great “what if?” that attendance provokes. Avoidance of being called on as the foil and target of the comic/performer in a live show is entirely dependent on remaining invisible. This is important to me because being selected out of an audience for mandatory participation is one of my greatest fears.
Nailed it Steve, I wondered where you were going with it with the first photo, but as I read along, bam bam bam, you hit every point, or most anyway, much like an AR15 can, but only this time in a way that does not bring harm but reflects the wonder, uniqueness, and potential of our diversity. We are all in the boat together, (reflecting on the Mayflower), the rising tide of our combined knowledge will lift us all, it makes no sense to demonize the person helping lift the sail, much of America seems to be wearing blinders to that fact and we have lost so many opportunities because of it. The mosaic of our diversity is indeed a wonder to behold.
Thank you for your kind & insightful commentary. It was a pleasure to have you & your lovely family at my show & an honor to be included in your writings! I also read previous columns & subscribed, so I’ll be able to keep up with your work in the future. Take care & keep telling the truth in these challenging days’
Zelenskyy was a comedian and other like Oleksiy Arestovych was an actor. They traded their jokes and performances on the stage for fighting for their country. Their ability to communicate stemming from their mastery in the art of performance fortunately is serving Ukraine very well.
They should give Ms. Richfield 1981 a shot at the Flora-Bama. Not that I personally know either one, but it is your story that gives me a glint of their reality, their existence. I love comedy too, immensely. It is purifying and always leaves the door open for a good laugh at oneself. Joy and laughter are as free as the air we breathe. Too many "judges" popping up in America defining our humanity, not only the legal ones with lacerating authority, but ordinary moral thugs taking a shot at it. And the attacks on women, I believe (do not have data), always come with attacks against our LGBTQ+, in America and elsewhere. If you note, it is gender based. Reading the above revived the images of a Polish drama series titled Queen, the story of an aging drag queen, a diva in her Paris cabaret circle, scenes of music and love and joy of life. It is the spirit that unites all characters in the end. And "because no great story ever started with someone eating a salad," may the vibes of your Friday story reach many more. Today is a good Friday.
I needed this today.
So glad Steve takes time to share his thoughts with us.
I don't have to count on Twitter or msnbc to hear his views any longer. 🤩🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I’m sure you’re enjoying your life too much to run for President but I wish you would. We need you. Desperately.
It is indeed hard to hate when you share with others. Spot on.

I am sure seeing you on the comedy stage in the glare of the light was worth the money.

I too needed this today. Thank you.
What a beautiful piece. I will reread this on the days I want to give up. Thanks! Steve
