Steve,

Do you want a verbal dialogue? Or a brilliant soliloquy? It’s 8:45. We part in minutes. I pushed STAR 6.. am 83. The only person profiled by 2 NYT Pulitzers - inspired by meetings with me, individually. I fed William D. “Bill Cohan his Bear Stearns book in 3 days taped. Bill and I authored an NYT OpEd for David J. Shipley - he is now at WaPo. I merged AXP with SHE and had no training. Want a question? Sandy

Nicole Wallace asks..

Steve, I will not return for more. This was tedious. At times boring.

“Ask Me Anything?” *6? No ask. Stuffed. No comment allowed. No *6.

Ask Me Anything was a come on. Star * 6 was a lie.

None of these Zoom meetings are different. And they might be worse if speakers were unfettered and free to talk. Or grandstand.

An hour of monologue by Steve answering written questions selected and read by Steve - but this may be better than truly freely Ask Me Anything... but your approach to Maggie and to MSM journalism would shine through if a succinct Socratic dialogue framed the Q and A - but skilled speakers will not serve on this service.

Heather Cox Richardson has entertained nightly, publishing information most find new - and she is loved by a community of readers for her approach. It’s better than a phony Ask Me Anything.. that does not open on some version of star *6.

Your incisive wit and comment are valuable. Your insight is valuable. You cut down the phony.

Brevity works. Monologue is less effective. Ask Me Anything would probably be worse.

Effort to write the question is thwarted.

Maybe a discussion group with questions submitted and debated.

Sandy

This was the first online event I've ever joined. I really enjoy your articles and enjoyed seeing and hearing you even more. At 76 years old I don't do well operating online, but with Heidi's help managed to get on (a bit late) and was glad I did! Thank you for all the ideas and history you present both in your writing and in this presentation. I'm afraid I added to the older crew and wish there were more younger people. I belong to many of the younger groups to see their views and add to their numbers. I look forward to your next presentation! You picked a perfect hour for me! Thank you for all you share. coco

To me, the repub party has become a true fascist far-right group. repubs call democrats fascist and scoff at liberals who encourage the idea of equality for all within the law, in my opinion I read that fascism is referred to as capitalism on steroids What ways should dems point out the direction and limitations of fascism. If we fail in our experiment, who will survive?
