This is how dictatorships begin! They and we need to stand up to trump before he gets the military behind him and then America’s freedom and democracy will not survive!

Terrific article today, Steve, and if MSNBC breaks apart into subsidiaries, I've got a real bad feeling that some of their programming will be Fox channel clones and want a be's. ALL media is owned by a handful of Billionaires.... Thank You and will reStack ASAP 💯👍

We can still rely on several hosts on MSNBC to tell the truth, notably Maddow, O'Donnell, Melber, and Wallace; of course, there are reliable social media sites such as the "Warning" that will continue to "tell it like it is."

I believe we should watch as much mainstream media as we can tolerate; we need to keep up with how and to what degree they are carrying Trump's water.

The American media will never regain the trust of this American. What possible reason would I have to trust it ever again? Individual reporters like yourself can be trustworthy. Not sure if you are old enough to remember I. F. Stone, a trustworthy reporter and chronicler from long before the internet existed.

It isn’t that they come for you like the crazy went for Pelosi’s husband. It is about you kneeling down to the coming perceived coming threat. It is about you enforcing Trump’s wishes even before his ultimatum. Hitler didn’t pick up a weapon and kill anyone. It was about everyone else who was doing it for him. Self surrender works in Putin’s Russia and Trump knows that it will work here. Trumptopia is not America and we sure don’t want to surrender before or after. If Ukraine did not surrender why should we?

Give em hell, Steve. The funniest part is where Joe tried to sell the idea that friends from all over the world support their shenanigans.

Regardless J and M are toast.

I hope we can figure out a way to slow down this rising fascist tide. Maybe they will implode, like Matt G.

Thanks Steve, great post with real clarity for us. I quit watching them years ago, they had their time but it’s up and stale. I would add my tv quit working so it’s gone now anyway no tv just Substack and you are one of my favs! People that have subscribed to The Warning apparently didn’t like hearing about the horrific world coming our way so I see far fewer tuning in but they will return because they don’t understand that they will need clarification (yours) constantly in the near future, and the mid term coming our way quicky. See you later you have news today.

Well, I've been researching and learning about how to resist, cpoe with and live in a totalitarian state. I'm confident so far that (I (we) can do this. We may even be able to resist the tide and stop and put an end to this madness. In the meantime many many of us will be made to suffer in a variety of ways. I expect many people who view themselves as having "a lot to lose" if they don't aquiece at some point will take the road of the two people of whom you speak. Autocracies rule by terror. We'll see what happens.

This is how we got to this dangerous place in the first place. People running “news” media who care more about views, clicks and ratings than they do about truth or the republic because all of that translates into money. They could have reported the truth in a way that was compelling. But they were lazy. Members of congress who care more about riding the coattails of a would-be dictator to power than they do about the people who sent them to congress to represent them, more than they care about our republic. If Joe and Mika knew then what they know now, they would have been in Trumps corner all along. But they work for MSNBC, and it was not in Trump's corner. Now that they see that it could be eventually . . . there you go.

My one concern is that the sources we can trust will be shut down by the Trump administration if we don't stand up for our Constitutional rights especially to criticize the government and to assemble and peacefully protest.
