80 years ago today, my dad was part of Operation Torch, the Allied Invasion of North Africa, to stop the Facists and NAZI'S from taking control of the world. This week is Veterans Days, where we will recognize and thank Veterans for their sacrifice. Do not dishonor those sacrifices by voting Republican.

God help us. God and a vote is all we have now since decency is gone. I won’t watch the returns tonight. I’ll say a prayer and go to sleep. May God help us all.

I voted early in person for all the Democrats on the ballot, including Sen. Rafael Warnock and Stacey Abrams. I feel glum about Stacey Abram's chances against Gov. Kemp, but Shirley De God, Warnock can defeat Herschel Walker and his 12 alternate personalities. I have abandoned watching the news, because I am too civilized to throw cast iron skillets at the television. Insulate me, oh Lord, from talking heads and their opinions. One thing for which I am grateful is this place where I can tell it like it is. Thank you, Steve.

You are right to call the American Experiment a drama. It has seen many twists and turns and has been reshaped and remade several times. Today's political characters are some of the worst bad actors we have ever seen. What they lack in honesty and character they make up with batshit craziness and deception. We are about to be thrown into the abyss. Nobody knows where the bottom of our political soap opera will lead us. The citizens have been divided by corrupt media outlets spewing words of hate and deception of finger pointing and blaming of all things on the other side. Fox News has sold their viewers a bill of goods and now we will have to wait and see what happens. Stay tuned for a preview of next season of Washington Melodrama.

For the first time, I am volunteering to staff the drop box in my neighborhood for the last 2 hours of the election, both to make sure as many people as possible can submit their ballots before 8pm and to ensure there are no problems. I am simultaneously cautiously hopeful and full of dread at what this election will bring.

Maybe we can ask one of the mega trillion Aires to buy democracy for all of us “good people” so we can finally work on getting all the things progressives have been fighting for but because of the human drama that is US politics we can begin to see and feel what really matters to the people that is: a sane government that works for the common decency and gets laws enacted that actually help “the people” ah a girl can dream!

American democracy is already on life support. Today, we will begin the process of learning whether or not voters in this country want to pull the plug.

I voted early, straight D, as did my husband and Son. I'm staying away from the news, up until 4pm, then its' Deadline w/ Nicole Wallace and staying there for the duration. God help us. That is a sincere

prayer.

It is difficult not to be fearful when the lives of our seniors depend for the most part entirely upon Medicare and Social Security. That and the host of other human rights issues including democracy itself are on the voting block. May God help us all.

I remember a time when I voted for Republicans. A time when everyone compromised on issues. I learned at an early age that our US government moves much slower than does the swing of voter sentiment. That said, there is no longer a compromising Republican party. Today they lead with fists, guns, law suits, intimidation and force. I agree it is a dangerous time. I pray that the American voting society will vote with their heads in the game and understand it's not a party but our future as a democratic society that they are voting for this time. They will have to continue voting that way until the Republicans come back from the dark and Democrats wake up and realize that they can do good, be kind, and fight like hell at the same time.
