The fact that SUV-sized drones are flying over New Jersey skies without anyone in federal, state, county, local government, dozens of three-letter federal law enforcement agencies, the US Armed Forces, NASA or anyone else knowing:
What they are
Who is operating them
Where they take off and land
Their purpose and intent
…seems like a problem that should unite most of us in our troubled times.
Here is the official response from John Kirby, National Security Council spokesperson:
This boils down to:
Fuggetaboutit. Don’t worry. We got it.
Sorry. This doesn’t work for me. Mostly, because I don’t trust the people telling me not to worry because every time they say that, well..
…they say a picture is worth a thousand words:
American taxpayers spend $1 trillion per year on national defense. The US military can shoot down ballistic missiles flying 20,000 mph in space. Shouldn’t someone with authority arrange for a ground inspection of these unidentified objects?
Phil Murphy is the governor of New Jersey. He should give an ultimatum to the White House, which is that this matter is going to be resolved in a federal manner, or a Jersey one.
There should be no more f*cking around with whatever these things are. Whatever they are, they best not be being flown by a foreign adversary because if they are then there will need to be a fearsome retaliation.
The most amazing thing about this story to me is that somewhere in government there was a meeting at the highest levels about what is happening, and what these things are. Inevitably, someone said:
What are we going to say publicly?
And someone replied:
We’ll just say, “Don’t worry about it.”
Amazingly, and generally speaking, it’s kind of working.
Again, this isn’t a partisan issue. It has nothing to do with a magic letter “R” or “D” next to anyone’s name that gives that person the power of immunity or invisibility.
The issue at hand is a problem, which is that swarms of SUV-sized drones are hovering over New Jersey.
I’m generally curious to know what this community thinks about this issue, and what you think should be done about it?
I also want to hear from the people who are good with the “Trust me. There is nothing there” response from the government when there is clearly something there.
Let me know what you think.
I haven't spoken to anyone in MY State of NJ that isn't concerned or even alarmed. Someone clearly knows. They are trying to give locals the impression that they are some sort of mysterious invasion. Total BS. IF it is our government then they should say that. If it is connected to the incoming administration, or Musk, then they should say that. Pretending it is ok is not acceptable, given that this has been occurring since 11/18 and that the drones have been over all the military bases in our state as well as our state and local reservoirs. No, it is not ok. Law enforcement should take them down unapologetically.
I’m not saying this isn’t an issue, but have you been in Costco lately and seen the pallet of drones for sale and looked on Amazon’s site? Anyone with money can get one and fly it. This is another example of an industry that is out of control. Anyone can buy one and fly it as long as you don’t go above 400’. What could go wrong besides scaring the shit out of people. I can’t wait for tanks to be for sale, I’m getting one.
