Well said, and the proper epitaph for the odious Lindsey Graham.

Good riddance to a bad American!

This morning’s news brings reports about how Trump’s sons are profiting in the billions of dollars in military stocks. I’d pass this along to the MAGA serfs, but they’re too stupid to know they are being fleeced.

That stuff is deep in their DNA. One would need a bio-geneticist to adjust their double helix into the proper shape because their actions and thoughts prove it’s not in a correct form.

And the MAGA serfs who have lost over a billion in cripto investments in Trump's cripto. Interesting how the losses and Trump's profits are near the same. But we will make it up in volume

Lindsey Graham was a fool who sold his soul for a few rounds of golf with NOT MY PRESIDENT.

He thought he was kind of a big deal. Not really.

Just another clown traveling on the bus with the WORST PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

Future historians will not be kind to Lindsey Graham. He knew what TRUMP was and chose to join MAGA rather than defend the Union.

I don't think he was a fool at all. I think he was a calculating evil man who had no moral backbone in his entire life. Not a fool, just disgusting.

Thank you so much - for your honesty regarding Lindsey Graham! Of all the many hypocrites, Graham stands out as the worst in my mind. He was a very small man and his dying doesn’t change that.

Mary Senior's avatar

I totally agree. The first completely honest piece I’ve read this morning about Graham.

Hippocrates was a doctor in Greece. Hypocrites on the other hand, you have nailed.

Sally Nedelcovych's avatar

Thank you! (I really did know that was wrong and let it stand- so embarrassing)!

Just change it. I thought you would want to know. Watch out for Eumenides and Euripides, They were Greek Tailors.

I already did and I appreciate you.

Lindsey Graham, once again a “friend of Ukraine” after demanding that Zelensky resign after the Oval Office Trump/Vance public shakedown? After years of touting Russian sanctions and doing nothing? Carney’s tribute was stunningly disappointing, almost as bad as MN Senator/gubernatorial candidate Amy Klobuchar’s. Lesson to all politicians: when you die, you don’t get to spin your legacy, nor do your friends. History does it for you.

EXACTLY RIGHT!

Jacquelyn Wolverton's avatar

You are 100% absolutely right. None of this “I knew him when he was different”. He changed all that and revealed who he really was. Just another power-mongering MAGA soulless monster. Urging parents of his state to send their precious kids off to Iran. JFC.

Adios Lindsey.

It is akin to saying, "But, Hitler did some good things." Everyone must request a eulogy that reflects a life in toto. Does the good outweigh the bad? Was the person a steadily moral person who knew basic right from wrong, did not lie, conspire, injure their reputation by choices that are very contrary to their words, writings, actions of previous years. I need to know if he was mentally ill, under blackmail threats, drug control because those are the only reasons that could excuse the harm, destruction and support for FASCIST REGIME of trump/MAGA/Oligarchs. HE supported corruption, murder, cruelty, destruction of truth, faith in elections, accountability of public servants, propaganda and lied in concert with the MOB TYRANNY. He confirmed incompetent, destructive nominees of a MOB BOSS out of fear, self-preservation, employed situational ethics to be with the "IN" Mob.

The existentialists have it right. You are what you are at the current moment in time. Never is this more true than at the time of your death. Lindsay Graham was a weak man with a weak character. He’ll be remembered as one of the prime sycophants that helped Trump drive this country off a cliff.

Jo Burns's avatar

Lindsey chose poorly. He chose fascism over democracy. He chose proximity to power to stay relevant. He chose greed over life.

Horrible man, Lindsey Graham. I'm not sorry one iota that he's gone. He hurt lots of people with his love of war. He tried to help Trump steal votes (including my vote!) here in Georgia. He knew better, but chose maga fascism. He was a modern day Benedict Arnold. Goodbye, good-riddance

Helen Spirer's avatar

Well said.. goodbye Benedict from S.C

Graham perfectly personified the hypocrisy, cynicism, selfishness and cruelty of the present day Republican Party.

Thank You ! Thank You ! Thank You ! I will have to watch all my foriegn shows constantly while people debase themselves talking about Lindsey.. Legacy media won't tell the truth about what is happening to our country .. Charlie Kirk an avowed racist ,misogynist was given a respect he didn't deserve .. No of course he didn't deserve to be killed but that is different then reporting on him and his shitty wife as though they have halos on there heads ..It is as though we are living in an episode of the Twilight Zone.

"One commentator offered this banality on X:

We need more grace in public life, so I will choose to remember the patriot Lindsey Graham I worked with first in ‘95, when he was a young reformist Congressman helping Lamar Alexander and 5 years later as a key wingman for John McCain in 2000. Worthy fights, with much laughter."

Following the same logic, we should remember Hitler as the charming man and great orator he was. Forget about the death, destruction, violence and hatred that he caused.

Virginia Marguerite Junkin's avatar

Thank you Steve! I cannot stand this wrongheaded outpouring of bs about Lindsey.

Alexander Mitchell's avatar

We will stop talking and forget about Lindsey Graham soon enough. What Steve iterates is about the ones who still have a chance not to be remembered like Lindsey Graham will be. We have no choice, but to move forward. Every decision counts.

My only disappointment at Graham's death is that it wasn't a horrible, lingering, painful, natural, bedridden one, in which he had plenty of time to ponder his 'eternal fate'.Honest, decent, hardworking People in my own immediate Family have suffered horribly & died from injudicious Fate. FUCK HIM.
