Your carousel of control freaks could’ve run on till Election Day. Who wants these miscreants in their government? I wouldn’t even want them in my house!
Well done Steve. Video excerpts at the end were the ne plus ultra of quotes for the ages. I sense the tide is turning. I’m never one to count chickens just by looking at the eggs, but it feels pretty good. There is now hope mixed with some incredible joy. In Jeff Tiedrich’s Substack today, there’s a picture of the Gilded Toadstool®️ at a recent rally. He looks like death warmed over.
Thanks Steve…for your great commentary and your refreshing articulation of the American scene. I look forward to reading The Warning each and every day.
Metaphor, like myth, can be a powerful source of truth, often embodied in the form of an epiphany. Just looking out my top floor home window onto a perennially white-blossomed butterfly bush below, I witnessed three respective individual representatives of nature's abundant species -- a butterfly, a bee and a hummingbird. All were busy at work gathering the flowers' nectar for sustenance. And all went about their naturally programmed business in unison and without seeming competition, since the bush offers plenty. A beautiful sight, I thought, and an admonition to humans, especially at this perilous moment for Americans, Ukrainians, Russians, Israelis and Palestinians, to reclaim what now seems almost a preternatural capacity for fraternity, cooperation and nonviolence that nature prescribes.
Our brains have endowed us humans with the possibility for imagination and creation, but also for abusing our self-consciousness in self-destructive ways that fool us into believing that the harm we do to our fellow species' members -- and to nature in general -- will not redound to our deficit and ultimately our demise. These words of Kamala Harris last night at the DNC should resound forever to chasten such self-deception:
"In our system of justice, a harm against any one of us is a harm against all of us."
At bottom, in the sage words of the ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus, "Character is destiny." Yes, indeed, just as finding succor in that butterfly bush is nature's destiny for the butterfly, bee and hummingbird, so character -- in individuals and nations -- is our destiny.
They only say, "yes, if it's a fair election." What they fail to say, and not by accident, is that the ONLY way it will be fair from their view is if TFG wins. So, quite clearly, not willing to accept the results. Everything from elections to criminal trials is only fair if they win. If they don't win, the election was stolen or the trial was a politically motivated witch hunt. Sadly, too many of their supporters have been brain washed into believing this. That happens in cults.
Well there was fraud in the last election. Mark Meadows voted from an address in North Carolina where he had never lived OR visited. That investigation was brushed under the carpet.
This is the reason I am opposed to any debates. If the other side will not say they will accept the results of the election, then it makes zero sense to share a platform.
According to Trump, The Trump whitehouse, should be win, will be staffed with Elon Musk, RFK,Jr., Steve Miller, his two sons, etc. Alterations should include a nurses station where appropriate pills can be suspended.
I believe the possibility exists--maybe 10%--that Trump becomes so enraged during the debate that the network will suddenly go to commercial. When the debate returns there will be one less person behind one of the podiums. Across from that darkened space standing steadfast will be our next President, Kamala Harris.

Or my neighborhood. My garbage would be knocked over and my dog, pregnant.
The best humor hooks into actual reality.
Pure Powerful Excellence, Steve! Way to uplift and energize us while hammering TFG/MAGA.

Beautiful!! Thank you.
The 45 family looks like a bunch of ghouls.
They were the plastic pretend "American Royal Family", not the REAL Walz American Family.
Thank you so much Steve! Excellent insights with summary is extremely helpful.
I hate to be a cynic, but I have yet to hear a Republican say they will accept the results of this election if their man loses.

Steve, I wish you were one of her campaign advisors. Your input would be invaluable. Please don't hate me. Lol

Dispensed, where did suspended come from?
Slovenia? I'm not sure I know anyone who has vacationed there. What are the highlights?
Yes, Steve, what takes you to Melania‘s home country?!
👏👏👏👏👏👏💙💙💙💙💙💙💙🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. Let’s DO THIS.
Why do I think of the Romanovs when I see a Trump family photo.

If you've seen any of the post-DNC convention Trump rally lowlights, you know the above is a very real, if unlikely, possibility.
Can the Harris/walz administration do inquiries into those that want to destroy our democracy? Like those responsible for Project 2025?
