I just don’t get it, Steve. I have read, I have listened and I just don’t get it. What the hell is wrong with people that they hear this guy speak and think and think this is what they want for this country?

Steve is clueless and he was part of the republican farm team for 20 years.

For years, Steve has been working 24/7 to fight MAGA. He's 100% pro-Democracy.

Could be pro-democracy (small d).

Large D! He's fighting hard 24/7 to protect our Democracy EVERY SINGLE DAY!! A++

Unfortunately, Steve's republican past comes out now and then in his writings/talks. And I wonder if he is a registered Democrat. I wish he would stop with the "Party of Reagan" line, as if Rag-on did anything good for you and me. But at the end of the day, Steve's definitely not clueless, and he's certainly spot on when it comes to Trump. He was one of the first persons that spoke candidly about Trump on cable news.

Steve IS a registered Democrat! As you said, "He was one of the first persons that spoke candidly about Trump on cable news." We're heading into a decade of fighting Trump/MAGA and Steve has been in the ring throwing punches non-stop.

He is opposite from 'clueless' - he is a top educator of history and the foundations of our country. It is easy to sit on the side-lines, be a critic, and throw cheap shots at someone who is in the ring fighting hard every day, making a difference. Are the critics doing a damn thing? I highly doubt it.

Didn't say he was clueless. ?? Happy to hear he is a Democrat.

Josephine,

To confirm, I am a registered Democrat.

The MAGA-Cult has become a community of millions of people who blindly bought the t-shirts, the hats, the lies/slogans as 'beliefs'. The followers feel empowered by insanity.

Fascist Trump has over-ridden their reasoning brains and incites fear, anger and violence.

Yeah, they think it's cool to be into this guy. They think he is famous. I guess they just like infamous, not famous people....

Trump and family paraded themselves as a 'Royal Family'. Reality TV v. Reality.

You left out a large basket of people that see themselves in Trump. These can be persons of above-average income and ARE most of the billionaires. They are extremely greedy, white supremacists, sex addicts, narcissists, sociopaths, snobs, self-centered, and/or any of the things that the orange stinky pig is. They can be a supreme court justice, a priest, a car salesmen, a realtor, ....the butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker.

Consider those in your circle that are not your friends and are doing fine - e.g. relatives, co-workers, members of your church or club... How many still support Trump? In my case, it is too close to 50%, which keeps me awake at night.

I keep saying to myself, they will come to regret it.

Oh, it will be all torn down. Think of what happened to families and survivors out of the rubble of Germany in May 1945. They lost everything because one dementor was on a power trip. 50 million dead in Europe alone. They had been drawn in to the darkness and ... ended up in hell. This time it is a severly malignant narcissist and a few very greedy dementors at Fox and eslewhere - real live followers of Goebbels. And this time it will be far far more devastating if we do not stop it.

I'm astounded every time I hear Steve talk. He can go on and on with an extemporaneous insightful non-stop soliloquy replete with perfectly precise wording and never utter a single "ummm" or "uh." I'm glad he's on Joe's side. and his campaign staff would do well to listen to Steve's advice. He stepped in it when he aided Phillps' campaign launch, but he quickly recovered when he found his audience was pissed about it. I suspect a lot of his work is landing on the ears of Never Trumpers and fed up Republicans, but I hope he can reach enough of the few persuadables in the swing states to make the crucial difference in November. The prospect of a Trump 2.0 makes me feel like sticking my head in the oven.

Steve's 'Schmidt Storms' can take it TO MAGA like nobody else can. Run with it, Steve.

I was watching Princeton professors on CNN discussing 1 day before the 2016 election that Hillary had a 9:1 odds ratio over Trump. The next night was so horrible for me emotionally that I barely could drive home safely and I literally never left my bedroom for 3 fuckin days. Call me a cynic but liberals better understand that literally half the country hates you .

Why’s that? ? In regard to economics: Every time a republican is in office it takes a democrat to fix it .

In regard to life style differences - ?

If you’re not gay ?

don’t be gay .

If you’re not trans ? Don’t be trans

If you don’t believe in abortion ?

Don’t have one -

Your grievances are all so resolved by you minding your own business !

These issues are not contagious-

They are personal choices - that you don’t have to partake in - but BUT- as we Dems want our freedoms

You too are able to express and exercise your freedoms .

But don’t dictate your lifestyle choice as the law of the land ! Wrapped up in, something something - “Christianity” - in a country like USA - where many religions are practiced -

You are doing HERE , what you scream about - that we should NOT DO - when we go into other countries!

STOP IT ! We are going backwards

Israel has free and legal abortions

France just enshrined the rights of women in their constitution! Where it’s NOBODY’s business what takes place between a woman , her doctor and her choices

You’re watching a slow motion unwinding of a fraud. Like all frauds, ultimately they have to face truth.

Joe McCarthy, father Conklin, richard Nixon, and like them Donald John Trump is in the midst of a “walking nervous breakdown”

Everyday I hope he is the nominee, because he will crumble and unwind, maybe even at the debate with Joe, if he agrees to debate him at all. 50/50

If I’m correct 70/30 then we will see a blue wave of the type we haven’t seen since Reagan, sweeping out the house and senate bringing in reforms America hasn’t seen since the 30s

Maybe I’m delusional 50/50 but I really think I’ve got this right.

The NY Times Editorial published today with a defeatist summary in the aftermath of Super Tuesday. I wrote in the comment section the following, "With Trump apologists such as Ross Douthat allowed to spin the deep web of this takeover in this newspaper, just one of several allowing this coming tragedy, the Times sounds like the Mitch McConnell of February 13, 2021 - did not go far enough, but could have..

January 30, 1933: if you do not know what this date means then look it up. "

It will not be published as of course the Times is "hedging" at this point, and we have seen that more and more on CNN, and elsewhere. It was a bit of shoehorning, but now it is wearing its own cultist boots as is the case of certain NYT writers. Defies logic, that is why I am saying they are hedging.

I am deeply appreciative of the diligent NYT reporters who are fighting the extinguishment of our Democracy.

Always motivated by Steve. Thanks.

It's a shame that the corrupt, traitor MAGA morons do not want to listen to the true patriots like on this platform. They show they are truly corrupt in Mind and Spirit. What a sick life they must have.

To defeat Trump and MAGA, the folks who Trump has preyed on must be offered an alternative they can believe in. Future candidate(s) who will address their needs, without the unnecessary baggage associated with a toxic personality like Trump, are likely to win the support of MAGA voters while also preserving our Republic.

In our current social/digital media obsessed and diseased political culture, Trump is a symptom, nothing more.

media is failing us again. there is no coverage of Trump and his constant lying, his rampling "speeches" and his non existent discussion of policy. it is all about him, of course. But they are wall to wall every fucking day about Biden's age. it's Hillary's emails all over again.

I cannot wait for him to be in our rear view mirror, in prison. That is, IF he doesn't flee the country before sentencing, which is what I think he'll do. I predict that the Saudis and/or the Russians will help him.

Trump never has to face reality as long as there is a Mike Johnson, an Aileen Cannon, or Supreme Court to protect his illusions of himself. Sorry I left out Gym Jordan and Comer Pyle MTG and Stefanik.

Donald Trump can’t put two sentences together without one a lie and the other nonsense. He lives in an alternate universe because he can’t come to grips that he is not intelligent, not a good negotiator, and not liked by a lot of people.

Donald tells his lies because he has never been held accountable or confronted with his lies. He’d explode if he was confronted and couldn’t talk over the other person.

Putin put him in his place . Merkle put him in his place.

Donald wants everyone to notice and love him. He is a malignant narcissist and can’t accept reality. His sycophants simply confirm his self illusion.
