I believe him and also believe that his role is the shiny object to distract us from the content of the Republican party’s Project 2024 platform. The media focuses on his daily nonsense and not the substance of what his second term would mean for EVERYTHING . I also believe he isn’t really bothering to campaign all that much since he believes he has all the red states adequately rigged.

He will be helped by hundreds of folks with much larger brains, by those within and without the US government. Names we know and those we only suspect and with billions of dollars of disposable cash. They, in turn will be helped by thousands of the misguided but heavily armed, some former and current LEOs and military personnel. We need to be wary. We need to stay vigilant. We need to VOTE.

"....he has all the red states adequately rigged." THIS. This is my biggest fear. Not that he wins outright by legitimate vote counts (which he might). Not that he loses and starts a violent coup attempt (which he might). But that his cronies are deep in the process of rigging the election in the right areas, either by manipulation or intimidation---which is evident by the # of people under indictment for or convicted of election fraud who have been appointed to run the elections in key areas. And, because of all the yapping about "accepting election results" by MSM (including MSNBC), there won't be a damn thing that can be done about it. Incredibly badly played by the (allegedly) pro-democracy crowd.

Hell yes, I believe him and I’m scared shitless.

I believe that trump is a lying piece of shit.

Everything that he says is for effect - he's to stupid to understand economics and policy issues and how the government works.

So he floats out the most outlandish crap and his followers fawn over how extreme he is.

Did I believe him when he said he would testify - no. Like I said, he is a shit spewer that is a Felon and he needs to be in prison. Period.

You are right…..Trump is a chronic and non repentant liar. And of course he was never going to testify. But that doesn’t mean his threats should not be taken seriously and dismissed as just another lie in an endless tsunami of them.

If the swing states screw the USA, then yes it will be a big problem. It is the responsibility of the entire non-MAGA world to run the piece of shit into the ground. No more nice guy stuff. The MAGA GOP scream and yell and threaten all the time. We are the majority and need to give back to them what they dish out to us. We need to stop talking in verbous terms and not sound elitist. Sound bites are everything.

trump is a felon

he is only doing this to stay out of prison and to do so he has to stay in office until he dies

HE will destroy our democracy

he wants to grift another couple billion dollars

Spot on, he does need to be put in prison for the 34 felonies he was convicted of committing, not some home confinement in one of his luxury residences with their staff, but a goddamn prison like Attica, a place that every waking moment that he’s in there is a grand-mall nightmare, if he lives that nightmare for the rest of his natural life it will be just a tick on the time clock of the eons that he owes. The Secret Service detail can be pared down, how many people does it take to watch someone in a jail cell. I’m in favor of removing SS protection for not just him but his entire family of parasites. I’m in favor of no cell phones or computers, you’ll eat the shit we feed you or don’t eat, and you’ll get to shower with the rest of the big boys after they cut your hair for lice. He is a lying piece of shit alright. 👍

If they go the wrong way they will have their hands full dealing with the likes of General Milley and the Constitution standing in the way Trumps trouble making , there’s no one more then me that wants free and fair elections and every American voter is going to get it. I’m sure there will be some bullshit but Biden has decades of experience and the support and power to do what’s needed ti calm thjngs down and deal with whatever he needs to ,

We all have concerns that will be properly dealt with .

Of course I believe him. He’s been telegraphing his future plans for months; using projection as his justification to arrest and prosecute his enemies, real and imagined.

That said, Trump is really the distraction that the media continually uses as a “hook” for ratings. Everything is about the horse race.

They announce polls that continually show how ignorant the American electorate is, while the MSM makes no attempt to even educate its viewers on the facts, issues, or policy distinctions between the two candidates and their respective parties.

Trump is the low hanging fruit; he is instant ratings and controversy. Everything with Trump is a spectacle that brings out the worst in people. And the media that isn’t in the tank for Trump, continually gets played; both knowingly and unwittingly.

So Trump will spend his entire second presidency seeking revenge and vengeance. The MSM will cover the political massacres with prejudice, while the Federalist Society and Heritage Foundation lay waste to the future of democracy in private.

And the SC will continue to destroy this republic with each twisted and illogical opinion: a slow death, by a thousand judicial cuts.

Bottom line: the fourth estate is dead! It’s been replaced by greedy corporations and pseudo journalists who are more concerned with their access, careers, fame and fortune, than they care about the survival of our republic.

Good times!…:)

Robert, once again you are right on point. Just like the $2,000,000,000 of free coverage for Trump in 2016 the MSM is all about covering a close race so they create another one. Then act shocked how such a result/assault upon our democracy could happen.

Wake up. Vote blue no matter who.

While I understand your anger & cynicism regarding the 4th estate & journalists; I have to give some pushback. When the right leaning wealthy owners of NBC hired Rona Romney McDaniels as an “analyst”

the hosts & journalists of MSNBC put up a massive on air live protest, & they won.

Many of those journalists that I watch regularly have been speaking up about the shit that Trump & his minions have planned. They are talking about what is contained in Project 2025 & warning their viewers. They’ve recently mentioned the fact that he has threatened to shut their network down because he hates them & that they personally could find themselves jailed & prosecuted.

Jen Psaki was the first person in the media that I ever heard call out trump & anyone on the right for lying about abortion. She corrected their lies regarding late-term abortion at 8-9 mos, partial birth abortion, & post birth abortion as completely non-existent things. I’d been screaming at my TV for months waiting for someone to call all that the blatant, nonsensical lies that they are.

So, not everyone has caved, at least not in my opinion.

Expand full comment

You’re talking about hiring someone like Romney, who should never have been considered to begin with, because she’s a liar and election denier.

I’m talking about how they cover the news. Bothsidesism; when none exists. Treating Trump like a legitimate candidate, who’s sane, while creating controversy with every small Biden gaffe.

If it were just the incompetent hires, I wouldn’t care; they’ll make fools of themselves, twisting themselves into knots, trying to defend every Trump misstep, lie, and corrupt act.

My gripe is with the fact that they spend their time on the distractions, instead of focusing on the policy ideas, and consequences of a Trump win; like more Trump judges that will finish the job with Roe…:)

My younger sister & a nephew are in that group. I sent my sister an article from The Lincoln Project that listed some of the horrible things trump has done. She texts me back with a

“fact checker” that that is a left wing organization that is anti-Republican. I told her that was incorrect & that all of them are actually Republicans themselves, they’re anti-trump, not anti Republican.

Those are my greatest worry, especially the ones lurking in all branches of the military that I strongly suspect the leadership hasn’t done nearly enough to identify & weed out or “re-educate.”

I worry about what will happen when he loses the election & increases his agitation for his supporters to fight like hell to take “their” country back?? It will be worse this time & if the military is needed to prevent mass murder & chaos, will those soldiers be able to trust that the person next to them isn’t a maga who will kill them?

Or, worse, if he wins & there are mass protests, he will invoke the Insurrection Act & more citizens will be killed than what happened at Kent State. I dread the coming 6 months to a year. I firmly believe there will be violence & people will die.

The MAGA quality I have noticed — and I use the word quality to denote a shared attribute — is the issuance of threats. Everything is either overtly a threat or has a strong undercurrent of threat.

This is true with the MAGA Presidential candidate. And it is also true with the two MAGA candidates in North Carolina: one for Governor and the other for Administrator of Public Schools. Every sentence is a threat.

Expand full comment

Whether these threats are mostly desperate, hysterical, rhetorical histrionics or fully-intended for implementation is somewhat beside the point. The sine qua non for America’s genuinely patriotic tribunes of freedom, humanity and critical thought, etc. to succeed at slaying the bully-beast of the MAGA Christo-fascist theocratic juggernaut is mustering the courage and determination to ignore the gaslighting and chaos of the internal enemy in order to effect a multi-pronged counter-offense as successful as that of those whom we just honored for scaling those cliffs in Normandy to vanquish Hitler’s Nazi totalitarian threat 80 years ago.

Well, that's not what I said. And I knew what you meant and who you were referring to. They do exist in our military and police forces, as well as just about every other walk of life. Obviously, a larger concern when they have easy, ready, and legal access to weapons.

You can't just "get rid" of them, that's why it's wishful thinking. What kind of litmus test would you propose to expose them and then justification for getting rid of them? And you make a dangerous implication that everyone in the police and military who support TFG are White Nationalists. If someone is a White Nationalist, there is little if any doubt that they support him. But that doesn't mean all of his supporters are White Nationalists. And you're actually proposing the same nonsense they are in Project 2025 by politicizing the federal workforce, except you're suggesting the same for the police and military. We should do better than insisting they convert to our way of thinking or be gotten rid of. That's the shit they pull and want to. We can and should be better.
