Does anyone else laugh out loud at the gobsmacking, spot on commentary of The Warning? Love this sh*t!

Spot on…..even with my lousy rebound Covid headache, I am laughing….love this sh*t indeed!

Yes, love Steven's commentary.

It’s hilarious and insightful at the same time. I wonder how and why DeSantis became MAGAs next in line and how and why he fell out of favor with them. Also where does all the big money come from and what’s its expectations when it succeeds at putting its choice in power. May help in understanding how best to beat Trump. Steve?

Bout time, Steve, that you liken Casey to Sarah Palin. They are equals. Each is a one-person hate group in search of a following.

Expand full comment

Casey could easily make Imelda Marcos look like Rosalyn Carter.

Sorry saw this and my first thought was how many pairs of shoes does Casey own?

Expand full comment

Actually and respectfully Fred, in this scenario it is Ron himself who is more like Sarah Palin. And to that point a handful of years later who ever mentions Flash in the Pan Palin any more? DeDumbAss will also be swept away into the dustbin of history as too an unemployable has been (with the possible exception for shitty border guard work). As a Floridian that day for me can't come soon enough...

Don't be fooled. Casey is the evil behind her hand puppet of a spouse.

Expand full comment

Oh yeah, I am not fooled at all by her puppeteering but she was given a lot of malevolence in the form of Gitmo torturer DeSadist to work with already. Match made in the rancid bowels of today's Florida governing body politic.

A truly despicable couple.

I care what has happened to those "Venezuelan migrants were sent to Martha’s Vineyard as part of an exposition on performative malice that DeSantis decided to make last September". And the other group he and Abbott sent to California.

Why isn't this type of thing illegal?

Unfortunately, as Rick Wilson, and others, say, Right-wing hate-filled cruelty is not a bug. It is the feature followers find most attractive.

“Baghdad Bob” hahaha. I had forgotten about him. I call Casey, Eva Peron. It think it fits in a 2023 way.

I hope this guy takes Eva, slinks back to Florida and the DOJ will investigate the hell out of him. He is so deserving.

Your words brighten my morning better than any floral bouquet.

"His Super PAC has zero chance of raising $200 million, and his outlandishly bloated and incoherent operation will topple over like a top-heavy Jenga pile of idiocy, stacked in malice layered on incompetence, and grounded in arrogance."

First those who were sent to Vineyard. Either the NYT or WaPo had an article .

The migrants are doing ok. They blend in to island life.

The DeSantis campaign not so much. I do hope someone set up a calendar for what day it will officially be suspended. Will he even make it to the first debate. A flawed, tone deaf candidate cannot be saved by a competent staff. By an incompetent staff bleeding money; forget it. I actually worry about his state , where insurers are withdrawing from the market and where inflation is 2.5x the national average.

Expand full comment

As a Floridian, I can tell you that your concerns for this State are spot-on. The Insurance industry is a complete mess, the prices for even a starter home are quite high, the book banning, the trans gender discrimination, Drag Queen shows, teachers leaving this state in droves. I think we still lead the country in teacher openings, with over 8000 vacancies, and it will only get worse. I'm hearing that the Universities and Colleges are struggling to bring in Professors, what with the attacks on DEI, Critical Race Theory, etc. His policies are doing serious, long term damage to this state. It's mind-numbing.

I’m a New Yorker living in Florida. I’m a veteran of the 2000 recount….38 days and nights of working in the trenches with attorneys and Gore campaign staffers living out of suitcases in Florida. Months of canvassing in Florida for both Obama campaigns and then Hillary. I await with glee the complete collapse of DeSantis and his hideous nightmare of a wife. They are heinous people!

Expand full comment

She's hideous alright, how many cases of hair spray do you think she uses a week to glue, what for most normal people would be hair, into that plastic looking mop on top of her head. She probably bought stock in the company that fly bait has used for decades, but because it's not grey the flys don't stand out as much.

The older term was R “helmet head. “. Until you mentioned it I had not realized why it looked so familiar. Ver popular on the Hill 20+ years ago.

Another Republican who has zero financial skills. Can we finally give up the idea that Republicans are the party of fiscal responsibility? If you can’t manage your campaign 💰, you can’t manage state finances (FL inflation rate is double the national average) nor have you a hope of managing 💰at the federal level.

And, we can finally give up the notion that they are the Freedom Party. Just another nail in the coffin.

They have already been exposed as clowns lacking even basic insight to discern that their makeup is Dali-esque and their maneuvering painfully awkward, insincere, gauche and wholly unbelievable.

They proclaim in Python-esque.

Bagdad Bob. I was lucky enough to be watching the news that night when there he was, exuding confidence telling everyone that there were no infidels at the airport while the screen showed US tanks rolling around the airport. He was so entertaining. Spicer was not exactly entertaining because I really felt sorry for him to be forced to say"Biggest crowd in history"while the screen showed more space than people in the street. Sad.

Yes, DeS is down the drain. Not enough money, too much staff, and now we know that the major donors will not be there for him later. His super PAC is daydreaming about tons of money coming in too. That will leave the bloated orange man. BUT, today George Will said that neither Trump nor DeS will win. His thinking is that people are getting pretty tired of the Trump show on the republican side and want someone else. He's a pretty smart guy, but I think he's wrong. The cult will carry Trump to the finish line but he will never be president or anything else in government again. Thank God.

Agree, George Will is wrong about this.

Living as I do in Central FloriDUH, close to but not in The Villages, I can only thank the forward thinking people of Florida who voted in term limits for the governor. Knowing that desantis’ inevitable retreat to Tallahassee only gives him another full year to spread Facism in my state is indeed a comfort to me.

I think the swirling alien crashed and burned in Iowa. The secret weapons were Ron's white space boots. He plans on breaking them out again when he tours the farming community. The migrants he sent to Martha's Vinyard are working the fields and in the slaughter houses in Iowa and throughout the Midwest. Perhaps he is lining up new donors to his campaign by promising migrant child labor to clean chemical factories and slaughter houses in the wee hours of the morning. The hypocrisy of the Republican party has no limit.

Thank you for reminding people about the constant battle workers engage in to try to maintain economic stability. I personally tried to organize reservation center employees at a major airline for all of my 20+ year career. Finally employees voted in the union a year after I retired. Belonging to a union makes workers realize what value they have and the contribution they make to the health and well-being of a company. It is about respect - for one’s self, their work, their worth and their contribution. Best wishes!
