I put up a Biden/Harris sign in 2019 in front of my house. I am a third generation Texan and have two fourth generation sons.

Our neighborhood was filled with trump signs and flags( some still flying today). We took a lot of grief for this. Proud we did it still today.

I will, also have, a Colin Allred sign this cycle.

We have not been represented here in a long time, despite writing regularly to governor abbot, John cornyn, and ted cruz.

I especially agree with Mr. Allreds stance on immigration. My father worked migrants under the bressero program, and we need migrants here. It is a win/win for them and us. All my experiences were always positive. I knew some that worked for us off and on for years. They sent money home and then went home for half the year.

Hope the tide is turning. It’s a fight with the devil on his own ground.

Lol. After having my tires slashed twice in midtown Sacramento, I had to take down my signs my Biden/Harris sign in the last election. Couldn’t afford it. Crazy fkrz…

Texan here as well. Voting common sense, obviously Democrat, every time. Sadly, common sense is a scarce commodity in Texas. I know churches are preaching Republican low-values. It is an uphill fight, but we persist.

I really hope that Allred wins. If he doesn’t, whatever faith I have in Texas voters will vanish.

My faith in Texas voters is currently hanging by a thread.

And I know it will be hard because of the gerrymandering and obstructions to voting and voter registration purges that so many blue voters in Texas face.

Yep, the blue voters in Houston can lose their vote per Republican legislators. Unbelievable and illegal, I assume.

I think much like folks getting a taste of affordable healthcare and seeing that democrats actually work to make peoples lives better, senators can do the same thing if they get the chance. For decades I wrote to my republican senators; Isakson, Chambliss, Perdue and all I ever got were form letter replies. It was obvious no one had even read my letters because the replies never even mentioned my concerns or requests for assistance. But NOW, we have Senator Warnock and Senator Ossoff! What a difference! I have reached out to both of my senators on multiple occasions and they both responded with urgency, address my letter and offered further assistance and legislation ideas. Senator Warnock's office has even reached out twice to help us personally because my husband is older with a disability. Democratic senators would do sooooo much for Texans and Arizonans!

If I recall correctly, there are 147 insurrectionists still seated in Congress. Each one is a Republican. Each one should be censured on the floor of Congress; then, expelled. That will NEVER happen. Congress lacks leaders. Congress lacks courage/spine. We know how Republicans think. We also know that Democrats are remiss in calling out our domestic enemies and bringing an action against them.

I totally agree about the House Republican. My congress critter is David Rouzer, NC 7th congressional district, member of the sedition caucus. Our state is heavily gerrymandered. Rouzer, I imagine, thought there would be no cost to voting for sedition with the other 146 performative nitwits. They were more grandstanding for their base at home than anything else. Those 147 seditious congress critters should be expelled. They, along with their willfully ignorant voters, are proof positive that there ain't no dumbass vaccine.

The world of intolerance and ignorance found among these malcontents is a world of despair; and, hate. What the lesser-educated right-wing lovers miss is how THEY will be impacted negatively if indeed 2024 is their "win"; in fact, it will be a HUGE loss for them along with the rest of us.

Honestly, the Democrats are too weak to commit to such an exercise. I am an Independent who has voted mostly Democrat, starting with Clinton. That started mostly because I did not want Bush 1 to be reelected. Dan "Mr. Potato Head" was next in line if the old man died. Envisioning Quayle as president scared the hell out of me.

You are so right. We need to vote out every Republican. Every single one who has been afraid to stand up to Trump when they needed to. Now they will try to slink away and hope no one notices their cowardice.

Thank you! The not-so-blind leading the truly blind is what Trump is counting on. There are sixteen months (roughly) between now and 2024 election day. The MEDIA will continue to over-saturate us with Trump and his demon-like hubris.

There are those that are committed to saving democracy like Colin Allred and those who should be committed to a federal penitentiary for going against their oath to the Constitution like Ted Cruz. Ted is a disgrace to himself, his family and his country. He has put party over country and committed countless fraud on his constituents by repeatedly lying to them about Trump and his crimes. He is not worthy of the title of Senator and is a poor excuse of a human being.

Colin Allred has proven he is capable of fighting for his constituents and upholding his oath of office. His skill and determination to be the best he could be is apparent and verified by his NFL experience. Colin will do more for Texas by being honorable than Ted Cruz will ever do with his deception and dishonesty. This country needs the Colin Allreds of the world and we can do without another Ted Cruz. We need sensible immigration reform and gun control legislation. Texas needs a change in direction and I believe Colin is up for the job of leading Texas forward, not backwards as the Republican party wishes to bring us.

While I agree with your comments, I think Cruz puts himself ahead of his oath of office to his country. The Republican party is a vehicle for enriching himself. That's the goal of most MAGA politicians--self enrichment and the power that comes from amassing money.

I AGREE 100% Get rid of Ted Cruz. He is pond scum. You are right. This country needs Colin Allred.

As a long time Texas resident, I’ve watched Ted Cruz ascend to political power. He is exactly the type of person that no one should want to hold public office. He’s the opposite of the servant leader we should want as a Senator. He’s a cowardly, self-aggrandizing, power hungry small minded person masquerading as a so-called conservative, when in fact he’s not conservative, he’s a fascist who wants to use the power of his position and a government he controls to impose his will and beliefs upon those he rules over. His hunger for power is likely insatiable as evidenced by his underhanded campaign for his first term as a senator in 2012. In my opinion, if it weren’t for the Tea Party’s backing and smearing, he would’ve lost that race’s GOP primary against longtime Lt Governor David Dewhurst who was eminently more qualified and well thought of. What has Cruz accomplished as a Senator? Nothing. Absolutely nothing- except to flee. Flee to Acapulco when Texas got hit with the February 2020 Big Freeze. Flee to a Capitol closet in the Trump 2021 insurrection. He’s a fraud that Texans need to make sure he’s trounced by Colin Allred in 2024. Allred is a servant leader in my estimation.

Colin Allred represents hope. And the incredible legal insights into the unfitness of Trump as a candidate should be pursued vigorously. In Ecuador, recently, citizens are beginning to question the high cost of democracy in a country taken over by violence, gangs and drug lords. We cannot afford to feel that the cost of democracy is too high at home here because of Trump’s MAGA republic. No price is too high to protect the country and the constitution in the United States. We can never give up the liberal democratic order so many have sacrificed for so long. To succeed, leaders like Collin Allred are needed. If you are unwilling to challenge the wrongdoers they take over your country and eventually your whole life. Zelenskyy transformed himself from a fun loving successful citizen to an exceptional leader after Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014, way before he came into politics.

I wish we had someone running in Alabama to go up against Tuberville’s seat.

He’s absolutely despicable.

He doesn’t even live in our state.

Texans, I would give anything to have a man like Allred running our State of Alabama. I would definitely be out there knocking on my neighbor’s doors.

Doug Jones WAS an amazing candidate the last time around! However, the red neck, white people voted for the football coach! He was left over from the Hershel Walker race in neighboring GA! The South flocks together and does not respect talent or ability of a candidate! Same judgment by them when they pulled Donald Trump out of a hat?

True. That’s shows the ignorance we have here in Alabama. When you have a great Senator like Doug Jones who can help move

Thank you for speaking with Congressman Allred. To say he is impressive is a manifest understatement. I was struck by many things about him, but his one comment about having had the experience of a job where you shower afterward, versus prior, was impactful. I hope he repeats that many times as he campaigns. It will resonate. I live in CA and I will certainly be contributing to his campaign. I hope more people consider and realize the importance of contributing to the campaigns of rational thinkers who may reside outside of their personal district and/or State, whether that contribution be monetary or via spreading awareness of those candidates. I think this young man is someone to watch. If he were to take on the challenge and burden of considering a presidential run some years down the line I would not be surprised and I think he would be a worthy candidate.

Please share more interviews of those who we may consider assisting along the road to gaining or elevating their presence in representing this country.
