Ronna ROMNEY McDaniel should never appear in front of a camera ANYWHERE, ever again. She is a traitor, but somehow doesn't seem to understand that. She needs to read Rick Wilson's book, "Everything Trump Touches Dies," including her.

Worse than that, it dies smelling like Trump. And deservingly so.

I believe the smell emanating from his lower region is just him talking out his ass. And a bloated diaper.

In this tumble and thunder, all should be reminded that this, THIS issue precludes all others. The integrity of the media is the integrity of America. It is the arrow in the quiver that can bring down the beast. Sincere thanks and respect to Steve, whose most brave efforts reflect his archer's aim.

Apparently there's a WSJ story saying that she won't be appearing on the network (again). I couldn't read the full story because it was behind a firewall, but it occurs to me that they aren't likely to have any other appropriate role for Ms. McDaniel. What can she contribute besides a counterpoint to an ongoing story (and who wants to listen to her anyway)?

She hasn't recanted, she hasn't railed against Trump and appears to be ready, willing, and eager to vote for him again. What exactly does she have to offer NBC other than serious damage to their credibility as an objective news source? Tear up that contract and turn her loose on Fox.

Sarah, what does she have to offer? Potential MAGAe viewers who frequent Steve Bannon, Joe Rogan et al who lap up ads for “tactical gear, survival supplies and rifle scopes”. Its big business and NBC wants its share

Oh, Steve I so look forward to your reaction to this person's appearance on MTP. It was, in a word, a sh*tshow.

Honorable Directors of the Comcast Corporation.

As a shareholder, I was distressed to discover yesterday that your executives at NBC Network and NBC News announced their decision to hire former RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.

Ms McDaniel is an unabashed liar and supporter of liars in Donald Trump’s World of Con Artists. Inspired by Roy Cohn: Roger Stone. Steve Bannon. Paul Manafort. Pro-Putin, anti-American parasites blatantly peddling their lies and frauds in public view. Amplified by the complicit mass news media.

The venerable history of journalism at NBC News. and sadly at all of the major news outlets in the United States, has been tarnished by the lack of adherence to ethics. Giving a platform to frauds only amplifies the fraud. The Comcast Board of Directors should raise the integrity bar at NBC back to its proper place.

Please demand that your executives stop giving deference to lies. Demand they call out the cheats and thugs and dictator lovers. There is no legitimate place in American journalism for promoting fascism.

From a practical standpoint, if Donald Trump takes power again, Comcast and NBC will fall under his rule. Just like RT and Pravda are under Putin’s control in Russia.

Sincerely.

Well written! I was horrified when I heard this and was very curious what Rachel, Chris, Joy, and Lawrence did when they learned of this. I will be forced to change my station of preference because I never want to hear from that dishonest troll woman ever again!

My sentiments exactly and I’m sure they heard from a whole lot of us !! It would be a shame to not hear their voices, to boycott all of it. But we’ll see, huh ? 😑

And where will you go? Let me know the alternative to MSNBC.

Primary source material; writers I trust. I have already cut way back on news consumption. It is not good for my health.

Read it, The Guardian, Al Jezeera, Alternate, loads of places....pick up snippets on YouTube.

I do plenty of reading…..Joyce Vance, Heather Cox Richardson, Ruth Ben Ghiat, Jeff Tiedrich, Timothy Snyder, The New Republic, New York Times, Washington Post, The New Yorker, The Atlantic regularly and occasionally other random sources. I assumed the discussion was around broadcast journalism not print.

I've found broadcast journalism gives me a headache - lots of noise even when it was formerly trusted sources. I comprehend better when I read and to yes, to all you cited, plus The Nation for me, and Kareem Abdul Jabbar's substack and Steve Brodner's visual and written substack.

👍on the Nation. I subscribed for years, years ago. I love Eli Mystal and have liked Joan Walsh for a long time and always appreciate them when on MSNBC.

Try Scripps News, Bulwark, Puck & the other writers/outlets Steve recommended.

Boycott! Stop watching and pass the word to everyone! By hiring this person NBC has thrown their credibility, integrity and honesty right out a 30 Rock window!!

I’m just guessing, as we all are at this point, but I have to think the prime time, weekday hosts raised holy hell, as did many of MSNBC’s paid commentators, consultants, and contributors. I hope we hear of threats of resignations, or a strike, or promises to air their disgust when next on air. Let’s hope the “worker bees” at MSNBC collectively told management to consider the network’s raison d’etre, that paid contributor can’t be a liar, and get their shit together. I can’t imagine Rachel Maddow, Chris Hayes, Lawrence O’Donell et al not making their opinions known.

And I'm curious about her contract and if she decides to step away, what great big payout she'll get and if she has a non-compete and what then WOULD the competition be!

“The world’s largest word puzzle company” - Oh OUCH. Steve has one gift with the pen! Thank you for the focus on this topic, which has had me incensed.

That one got me too. I copied and pasted it to friends. New York Times world’s largest word puzzle company. I hope I’m just behind the times and everyone else already knows.

> "Jones doesn’t have to outrun the bear; she just has to outrun Blumenstein and Brown, both of whom must be aghast as they watch her proverbial parachute float away from the burning plane they are both still on."

Haha! Love the image!

But CNN totally screwed up putting Trump on across from Kristen Welker, and now they've done it again. I don't know that it's quite so apocalyptic as you express, Steve, but there's no question it was really dumb. I agree -- "I don’t think Ronna McDaniel is going to be seen again on NBC News’ air."

funniest line ever.."Jones doesn't have to outrun the bear...." So good.

"Take one for the team" is she f'ing serious!? I'm sure the guys that flew planes into the Twin Towers said the same thing. And we call them TERRORISTS! McDaniel's didn't have a gun to her head when she aided and abetted Emperor Tang in his coup plot to overturn the election. She was COMPLICIT!! People we respect that DID NOT "take one for the team" Liz Cheney, Cassidy Hutchinson, Miles Taylor, Olivia Troy.

I wrote to those morons but I'm sure I will not get a response-a debacle is a kind word-more like humiliating, ignominious, and scandalous!!! I don't think anything will happen unless the responsible journalists on NBC and MSNBC walkout en masse!! What if they had the guts to do it? Hope springs eternal.

It’s hard to imagine that ANYONE with the judgement at MSNBC/NBC bad enough to hire McDaniel is in a position of senior leadership there, much less still has a job there!

Wow- The insurrection continues. Rona wants to infiltrate - NBC bites. She arrives a liar, and remains one. Nothing apologetic, no admittance of her ties to The Big Lie. Her “concerns” about the election, used as flag to cover her lies about the election and the insurrection. Seriously sad.

And for the record: NO WE CANT IGNORE WHAT YOU DID, RONNA. And to NBC: you can NOT create credibility that is so blatantly not there.

I AlMOST feel sorry for RONNA because the network put her in such an impossible position. ALMOST.

No no .. no feeling sorry for her. What's the "made her bed" expression? W/ the RNC and getting ousted for family who are the greater true believers.

...and, when she gets the boot, she will scream "Woke Mob!" and how all the Libs caused her demise. And, I do hope she does really get the boot. Hiring her is an insult to our intelligence. And, this whole story line of just being on NBC but not on MSNBC is just SO LAME.

She can use any of excuse she desires as long as she is a LGD(long gone dog).
